Dave and Busters was, well, a bust. It was nothing like the one I went to years ago in Florence KY. I ordered a Philly steak and got a cheeseburger, the games were a tad limited and way over priced. But I was able to find the first 2 books in the Passage trilogy gently used in hard back at Books a Million for Anne.

Tang is doing well and is curled up on the living room floor. Soon it will be time to get his supper, shot etc and provision the local waifs.

Sorry your and Anne's breakfast yesterday didn't meet up with the anticipation. That's always disappointing. Still, I'm sure Anne enjoyed the quality time with you before having to go to work. At least one part worked out in that you were able to find a couple of books for her that you know she'll enjoy.

Scarlet arrived around 3:15 p.m. or thereabouts. As usual she's letting me know she misses her mom and dad, but at least she's somewhere warm and reasonably comfortable - - even though it doesn't meet up to her standards. Still it's a pleasure to have the honor of taking care of her while her mom and dad are traveling. Have a sink full of dishes to do so need to start on evening chores and making sure Scarlet is settled in for the evening.

Actually it was lunch and we were both off yesterday. It was Sunday she had to work and I didn't. But she does seem to be enjoying the books. Nothing compared to what she got me that arrived today though.

Work was OK I guess. As good as that ever gets I suppose But it's over for another day.

Tang met us at the door as usual. He's had his supper, shot and treats and seems to be doing well. We spooked Butters (he was behind the bush) when we pulled up. But both he and Tweak came back when I set the first round of food out. When I went to set the 2nd round of canned food out, Dulcinea came out from under the car to get her share.

I'm glad yesterday was a decent day at work for you and Anne. It's always nice when the days aren't crazy busy - - but not terribly s l o w either. And I'm glad your community customers continue to partake of your and Anne's gracious and generous provisions.

My appointment with my rheumatologist went well. Now that I'm off the methotrexate my blood tests are now only once every 4 months - - that's nice. Because my symptoms are a bit more noticeable now without the methotrexate she is increasing the dosage of the remicade to offset the loss of the methotrexate with the infusions continuing to be every 6 months. And she has extended my visit intervals to every 6 months unless I need to see her sooner. So it's all good news. I stopped off at the Lowe's in Bonsack to pick up a few things. One is an anti-fatigue mat for me to use at the kitchen sink. I didn't want to order it online without giving it a "try out" in the store - - it's soooo comfortable. And then I needed to get gas in the car before I got back to the condo. So I've had a busy day and am looking forward to having my lunch and settling down with Scarlet - - who by the way appears to be happy that I'm back.

Scarlet and Buster have now had a face to face meeting through the window on the garage side of the condo. Buster wanted to see in, so he got up on the window ledge. It was sooo cute seeing him looking through the window. However, Scarlet did not appreciate it and was very adamant about not wanting him there. But despite all her hissing, spitting, growling, and posturing Buster maintained his composure and continued to look in through the window wondering why she was putting up such a fuss. I felt so sorry for Buster, so I'll have to give him some extra loving when he comes to visit again after Scarlet goes back home. The rest of the day has been spent working on financials and updating some medical information.

Scarlet ignored me for the evening and through the night, but when I got up around 7 a.m. to check on her she came and settled down next to me on the bed, so the both of us slept in this morning till around 11:15 a.m.. I guess I needed the extra rest as Friday was a very early rise day for my medical appointment and so was yesterday because I simply couldn't get back to sleep after waking up around 6 a.m.. She has been keeping a periodic vigil at the window to see if Buster is out and about but so far, if he is, he hasn't come to visit through the window. She is also playing with her toys today, which is fun to watch. My lunch is now ready so will get this off to you.

Since we fed the waifs at the old place on the way to work yesterday, we decided to rise early and hit the breakfast bar at Ponderosa near where we work. From there we got provisions at the nearby Kroger and Walmart. Then we came home and started watching a new Rifftrax on Prime.

Anne went to the Kroger clinic (since the meds from the Walmart clinic didn't seem to get it done) Hopefully these will do better. While that was going on I went next door for a haircut. No wait either which was nice. Coming back over to Kroger I spied a gray tabby in the bushes. She meowed at me and seemed lost and sad. Since we always keep the big bag of food in the car I brought her some and she chowed down.

It was back to work today. I was 1/2 expecting Anne to get fired and get written up myself. Perhaps Anne's assessment of the turn over being too high for them to be able to afford those petty games just now is accurate. The guy on our shift that quit put in a good word for us at Lowe's (across the highway from where we now work) so we applied online and dropped off resumes. So who knows?

Tang met us at the door when we got home as per usual. He's had his supper, shot and treats and seems to be doing well. When I went to put out the dry food and fist round of canned for the waifs, Butters was already on the right of the bush waiting on me. He didn't bolt either. Of course then it became a stare off between him and Dulcinea for the canned. He stopped about 1/2 way and let her have the rest and I have put out the 2nd round.

I'm glad to share your news that you and Anne still have jobs at the call center, and am hoping Lowe's becomes an alternative resource for both of you job-wise. It's also heartwarming to share your news that the waifs look after each other in sharing the provisions with one another - - but of course the "first come first served" rule applies, which is why it is so wonderful that you and Anne provide a second meal for those who couldn't come to the first serving.

Yesterday was spent scheduling online bill payments and today I worked on entering all the payments due for March into my checkbook. So the bill-a-thon is about 90 percent taken care of. Wrote the checks this morning for the payments that will be mailed on Monday, 2/25, when I do my errands. Yesterday I also placed my regular order with WalMart and will pick that up Monday as part of my errands. Buster came by this morning and settled down on my bed to take another nice nap. He woke up around 2:15 p.m. or so and decided it was time for him to check in at home. He is such a sweet fellow. Bonnie must be staying at home today in this rainy cold weather. According to the kitchen timer my lunch is now ready so will get this off to you.

Today was pretty low key concentrating on rest. We did go to both Walmart and Kroger here in the neighborhood to provision for the week. Then we came home and I made brunch while Anne got the laundry going. Then we sat down to eat and watch movies (DVD) we got from our last foray to a peddler's mall.

Tang is well and has enjoyed having his people home with him today. Soon it will be time to get his supper, shot and treats as well as food for the local waifs.

The work flow wasn't bad as Tuesdays go although I can't say how many calls I took as the history cleared when they reset the phone system around 2:00. The idiot training manager made a rude comment about those who found a new provider lookup method trying (it is stupid too BTW) should be "flipping burgers" and the team lead that uses the R word a lot. Made one of our co-workers with a learning disability cry I know who's on my hit list now. Oddly enough when I get riled they rush to do "damage control".

Tang met us at the door when we got home as usual. He's had his supper, shot and treats. He's enjoying some open window time behind me right now and doing well. Dulcinea was first up at the canned food tonight bless her heart. I already put the 2nd round out.

The co-worker can make an official complaint against the manager for making the environment difficult for him / her to work in. This type of behavior should not be allowed under any circumstances, and I know the employee is thankful to have another co-worker stand up on their behalf. The good news is that you and Anne will be off tomorrow together - - the less time spent in that environment the better it is for the both of you and anyone else who has to work there.

Didn't do anything outstanding today. Buster came by to say hello and took a nice nap on my bed. Saw Bonnie out and about enjoying the sunshine. Now it's time to finish the evening chores and prepare to settle down for the night.

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well yesterday, but am glad you and Anne took the day off together to rest in preparation for having to work today and tomorrow. I'm wondering with the schedule you have and the stressful atmosphere are the reasons why you and Anne are having recurring health issues. So many clinical studies have been done on how employment adversely affects one's health over a period of time. I hope both you and Anne are feeling better today. Did some online shopping today. Buster did not want to venture out into the rain yesterday evening to trot across the common driveway to go home. So I donned my rain jacket and got him almost all the way over to his home when he wriggled free of my arms and raced across the driveway to the covered porch area of Abigail's home - - instead of making a slight left turn into his own front yard. His mom came out and called to him but Buster has a contrary streak in him that ignores all pleas for him to come home. His mom told me he would be okay - - that he would dash across the driveway when he's "good and ready". So today I ordered a soft over the shoulder pet carrying bag that I can put him in should future events arise. He wanted to stay here but I knew he wanted something to eat - - and I will not feed him or Bonnie here - - his home is just across the common driveway. I was afraid that maybe I had frightened him - - but he allayed my fears with his sweet return this morning to visit and settle into a nice nap on my bed. He's still here as I'm writing to you. I do sooooo like this little boy. So I'm hoping the soft bag will not terrorize him should I need to take him home at some future time.

I'm glad things have been okay for you and Anne at work so far this week, and hope today is as well. HURRAY to having 4 days off consecutively together!!! I know you both are looking forward to that, as I'm sure your precious Tang will also enjoy the quality family time.

Yesterday I trolled through the Roku channels and found a couple of "free" ones available as long as I had cable service. So I added one of them to my channel list and then proceeded to do the registration. Turns out my basic cable service will not fulfill the requirement - - I have to have the more expensive "advanced" service to add the "free" channels. Oh well - - it's not a big deal and I'm definitely NOT going to upgrade to the "advanced" service. Today I worked on my sister in law's birthday card as it is the first part of April. I'm not happy with the current formats of the online "printables" as I can't edit the size and placement of the graphics. So I printed off the front of the card and scanned the graphic into my computer so that I could edit it to fit better on the card, and I scanned the company's logo to put on the back of the card. So it's ready to put in the mail when the time comes. Buster came by for a visit and a brief nap on my bed. He left about 45 minutes ago to go on his rounds. Haven't seen Bonnie yet today but may see her later when I take her mom's and dad's mail over when it's delivered.

Funny you should mention taking it easy. That's exactly what we did. All day. We slept in, had an early lunch and watched TV then took amazingly long naps. Tang was on board with that He is doing well and it will be time soon to give him his supper, shot and treats as well as provision the local waifs.

I'm sooooo smiling at you, your precious Tang, and Anne hanging out together yesterday - - no errands, no travels - - just the bliss of doing nothing - - together. I hope today is equally blissful - - in whatever way you need it to be.

Over the past couple of weeks I have been trying to think of a better way to utilize the space here in the condo. The dining area is very small because of the limited space, and I've been trying to think of a way I could "open up" that area. The only way to do that is to relocate the small sofa which now serves as a transition between the seating area in the living room space and the dining area. I thought I could move the full size sofa bed which is in the computer space into the guest bedroom and then move the small sofa into the space now occupied by the sofa bed. In order to get the sofa bed through the guest bedroom door, however, it needs to be stood on end - - which I cannot do. Even taking the door off the hinges - - which was easily done - - did not provide the necessary clearance. So I got the sofa bed back into place - - everything is as it has been. Getting the door to the guest bedroom back on the hinges, however, was a major task but eventually accomplished after taking a 2 hour break from the first attempt which was a miserable failure. So, if I'm going to proceed with this project I will need to find someone to do it for me - - a handyman-type person. Thankfully it's a project that can wait to be done - - or not done at all. With the cold nasty weather outside I did see Buster a couple of hours ago heading home just as the wet snow began to fall. Very wise kitty.

Today was not remotely blissful. Not because of the running of or lack thereof errands. It was, in fact, a completely wasted day off. The less said about it the better.

Tang is doing well however and is currently munching on his supper. He just needs his shot and treats later. I also put the first round of food out for the waifs.

Sorry that yesterday wasn't a good day for you. When I was working I heard a few of the employees say that a bad day home was better than a good day at work. At first I didn't understand the philosophy but as I continued working with various employers I soon agreed with it. Although yesterday sounds like it wasn't a particularly good day at home I hope neither you nor Anne wished you were at work.

It's a quiet day here at the condo complex. All the roof tops, trees, and ground are now clear of the wet snow that fell yesterday. I have reset the clocks in preparation for the change in time. I am not fond of daylight savings time but am looking forward to more daylight - - should that become a reality in our weather. I don't think persistent cloud cover during the day counts toward having more daylight. Buster came this morning to say hello and have his usual nap on my bed. He left about a half hour ago to see what's happening in his world. Yesterday evening both Bonnie and Buster came to visit while it was snowing outside. Bonnie wanted to go home but she didn't want to get wet crossing the common driveway. She is such a little princess. I had recently purchased an over the shoulder pet carrier just for these types of situations, and Bonnie went in it without too much fuss, so I was able to make a "special delivery" to her mom and dad so that Bonnie wouldn't have to get her fur coat wet from the snow. They laughed so hard when they saw me and realized that Bonnie was inside the carrier. As it turns out they have been looking for a new carrier for both Buster and Bonnie and they seemed to like the carrier I have, so I emailed them with the link to order it.

The kitchen timer is letting me know my lunch is now ready so will get this off to you. Tracy, it's always a blessing sharing your news that your precious prince Tang is doing well. Hello moon_beam. Rainy and warmer (64) Caturday greetings to you. I hope this finds you doing well. Glad to hear you had visits from both Bonnie and Buster and that you were able to see Bonnie safely home. I they are both doing okay today.

Today was better I guess, but now just one more day off We didn't do much but go to Anne's nephew's B-Day party at a family fun center. At least Anne and I already had cards from having gone there before and were able to load them up and play games. Beats getting ignored as we usually do at such gatherings. And they wonder why we opt out of "hanging out" longer.

Tang is well and has had his supper and shot. He;ll get his treats after my shower. I put the food out for the waifs and Butters was the food hog/bully as usual even though Dulcinea was there first. I think my watching over things helped as when I looked out again he was eating the dry food and letting her have the wet.

Family dynamics can be a challenge. Sometimes the only thing you can do is "show up" for gatherings while prepared to make a graceful exit in your time.
