Another stress free day at work (I could get used to this) I ran into a little snag going to the back lounge to sit in a massage chair while waiting on my bus after my shift though. When I opened the door, someone was already there in the dark talking on her cell; neither of which seemed conducive to reading my book, so I went to the break room instead I find myself hoping it's a one off and not going to be a regular thing, but I know that's not how my luck runs. Seems every time I find a nice quiet place to be alone with my thoughts, it gets "invaded". That, laundry room, bus stops, you name it (sigh)

The bus home was on time though. In fact, it was at my exit stop 2 minutes early. Theresa and Tang were pleased to see me come in on time. Both are well and scarfed down their can food. Must be the dry food rationing I keep telling them just a few more days and there will be no more shortages; just hope I can keep that promise long term Both are doing well otherwise.

Another decent day at work. We had corporate visitors in the call center today and gift bags with some nice little goodies were handed out to all of us. I had a new person sitting with me listening to calls part of the day. I don't know if that's due to confidence in me or expedience due to a shortage of bodies. The bus home was fairly on time which is always nice.

Theresa and Tang are both well and have scarfed down their can food (yes, even Tang) Paid the day after tomorrow, so that's good.

This morning while feeding the waifs I saw a cat dart away into the bushes, but still movement on the walk. I got closer and saw that it was about 4-5 kittens maybe about 5-6 weeks old. It was probably mama I saw scampering off. The kittens were friendly and came right up to me. They were gone by the time I went back out to go to my bus. I took a chance and emailed the manager about it. She said "We have someone who lives here who works with KY Human. I'll see if I can contact her to capture them and get them adopted." I knew immediately who she meant I hope in my haste to help I didn't doom the poor little waifs

So glad to share your news that you had another good day at work yesterday. Was the person sitting with you yesterday a supervisor or another employee / trainee listening to how you handle calls? It sounds like it wasn't stressful for you, and this is good news.

Was up early today to do my errands including getting my flu shot. When I presented my current insurance information under the ACA the receptionist emphatically told me that my doctor does not accept this insurance, and she tried to refuse accepting the information for my chart. I told her to keep it for my records, so she grudgingly took it. When I met with the nurse, I asked her why the insurance was not accepted, and she confirmed that - - even though it is a major provider the insurance coverage itself is under the ACA guidelines. I asked her if he still accepts Medicare and she confirmed for me that he does. I had to pay for the flu shot out of pocket, but it was no more than the cost of a medical visit - - so it did not break my budget. So this time next year I won't have to pay for the flu shot out of pocket. YEA!!! I was also able to take the few items to Goodwill which I had overlooked from my previous trip a week or so ago.

This morning there was a huge spider on the big double door, so I got my plastic container and did a spider relocation in the wooded area at the street end of the driveway on my way out, and wished him / her "to live long and prosper."

My precious Noah is doing well. He is settled comfortably next to me keeping me company as I'm writing to you. We may settle down together to take a mid-morning nap together after I get this note off to you.

Just today to get through and then tomorrow you can pick up your check and do your errands so that Sunday you and your precious fur family can enjoy a "do nothing" day together. Hello moon_beam. Sunny and warm day's greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope you are both doing well. I'm so sorry you ended up having to pay for your flu shot unexpectedly. And I can certainly relate to the rude receptionist As you may recall, I had to deal with that a while back. And not just her being rude to me, but the pharmacist as well.

The woman who sat with me yesterday (and a little today) is a new trainee doing Discover authorizations until the tech training class opens up same as me. A fairly slow day today too (15 calls) Not complaining, it's a nice change of pace. Plus I'm getting tech pay to do it (the regulars get less I was told)

The bus was 15 minutes late going home which was a pain. But I'm off tomorrow, even though I have that grueling walk to get my check. But at least I can get everything done over there and get a cab home (my "indulgence" for the month)

Theresa and Tang were both delighted to see me when I got in and both are doing well. Both finished off their can food (with extra portions) in no time. Tomorrow their food bowls will be quite full

Not a bad start to the day. Got my laundry done without interference, and off to work to wait on my check (about 45 minutes) and off to PNC to deposit it keeping enough cash out to do what I needed. Then to 5/3 to get bus tickets and pass for October. To Great Clips for a hair cut, then to Kroger to finish up.

That's when it all went south. I waited 1.75 hours to get a cab. All during that time I kept being told no driver has picked it up. I made so many calls that I ran out my cell minutes. The people in Great Clips were kind enough to let me use their phone. By that time, a cab was finally on its way. I didn't get home until after 3:00 (over 2 hours after I was done at Kroger. Thank goodness for a fairly cool day and thermal bags. Still, my frozen fruit almost didn't make it it's like I really didn't have a day off today (sigh)

Theresa and Tang were pleased to see me coming in. They were even more pleased at the sound of a full bag of Iams Senior dry food Both are well. I'm tired and my back is killing me however.

Most of the time getting a cab is fairly easy - depending on where you are calling from. My old cab driver friend told me once that a lot of them avoid grocery store runs because they don't think they pay enough (my fare was 20.45, so I don't know what they consider a big enough pay off)

Work was slow for the most part. The lead announced at 10:00 he had to go get his wife who's car died and that he "may or may not be back" (it was the latter.) Must be nice to take off like that when ever you feel like it - and not come back.

The walk to and from the bus stops was grueling as ever. I'd like to say it gets easier each time, but that would be a lie. I stopped at Dollar Tree and Save a Lot on the way home to get a few items I forgot - litter which I was out of as of last night and more food for the waifs (Kroger only had little bags of the generic) I was in time for a UPS bus home, which was late of course.

But I'm home and settled in but for my shower. Theresa and Tang are provisioned and settling in too. Both are well. I hope today has been kind to you and Noah and that you both have a blissful evening. TTFN

I woke up this morning about 10 minutes ahead of my alarm at 6:20. I took care of the Theresa and Tang's provisions including Tang's insulin. Then I proceeded to provision the outside waifs. I saw Lulu as soon as I put the food and water down for the first colony. Then I saw the little gray and white one that almost comes up to me at the other - except he/she isn't so little anymore. I hope my efforts have a little something to do with that. Then I saw Tux rolling on the ground on the way back patiently waiting his turn for the food.

Then it was time for breakfast and I had the little mini sausages Tang likes to mooch so much At least weekend breakfast is returning to normal after this latest ordeal. Then it's been reading and napping with various cuddle buddies. Both Theresa and Tang are doing well.

I am so hoping the tropical system in the Atlantic basin stays out to sea because we really do not need any additional rain at this point in time.

So glad your travels home yesterday went well. I can imagine your precious fur tribe's elation to having you home safe and the extra bonus of evening balcony time. Sorry you're having a challenge with your WalMart order and hope this is resolved quickly.

The biggest news around the home front here is the weather. From the news report last night it looks like Joaquin is heading inland around the NC / VA coastline. You may have seen on the national news the flooding the region has had from the continual rain over the past 5 days. Should Joaquin keep its current projected path and come inland there will be many more people adversely affected much like the region was in the massive 1985 flooding episode - - in addition to the same people who are already reeling from the flooding over the past 5 days and will be devastatingly affected again. There were some areas dealing with power outages a couple of days ago, and Joaquin could multiply that number considerably for the region. Sunbeams are not forecasted to return for the region until next Tuesday, 10/6.

My precious Noah is doing well. He is settled on his lamb's wool cushion in front of the window next to the bed with his paws over his eyes - - just can't bear to look out the window at the rain - - again.

Work was same old same old, but the bus home was 10 minutes late. Still I should have had enough time to run and errand on the way home and catch a connecting UPS bus. I did not, however, due to some lady holding up the line getting her 4.00 back (for what ever) at this new outlet store in the shopping center by me. I was in there to buy a blender (the order on walmart.com that I ended up cancelling) So, I ended up paying something like 7.00 more and lugging it all the home the long way (sigh)


Theresa and Tang were pleased to see me walk in the door (finally) Both are doing well and enjoying some cool fresh air. At least I'm off tomorrow and can keep my errands closer to home.

Sorry you missed your bus connection yesterday evening - - which is frustrating and aggravating and irritating. I hope you will be able to get your chores and errands done quickly today so that you and your precious fur tribe can enjoy most of this day together.

Last night's news indicated that Joaquin could stay out to sea which - - if that is what happens - - would be a blessing. Still, the region is caught between two or three major air currents with each of them bringing significant moisture from the Gulf and Atlantic inland. So there remains the potential reality of major flooding in some parts of the region. Some schools canceled classes today with the rest of the schools closing early to get ahead of roads being closed due to high water. The region is also under a high wind advisory through tomorrow which could bring power outages. The rain is great to replenish the wells, - - but coming all at one time over several days in a row does cause other major problems for sure.

My precious Noah is doing well, which is always a blessing to share with you. He is comfortably settled next to me keeping me faithful company as I'm writing to you.

Sorry to hear little Noah is frustrated at the rainy weather (paws over his eyes from a previous post) We are still keeping you both in prayers that the worst of the bad weather passes you by.

Got up to my alarm at 6:00. Laundry was fine with no interruptions. I saw the orange and white "tom" cat by the mailboxes and "chatted" for a bit. I do hope someone can catch him for TNR as I think those were his kittens I saw a while back. I didn't see Tux, Lulu or any of the others today though.

Travels were fine. I had to make a special trip out to the library to drop some return books in the overnight bin and just barely caught the bus coming back the other way thanks to a long red light. Went to Dollar Tree and Save a Lot and was walking in my door at 10:00 straight up after having left at 8:20. So, not too bad. Better than 3:00 like last week for sure

With cooler temps, I allowed balcony time while my clothes were drying and after I got back from errands. Only Tang went out the first time and only Theresa the second time. Both are well and we have enjoyed cuddle time on the sofa with purring in "stereo:

Received my electric bill and things are going well. I am continuing to pay the budget amount assigned to me a couple of years ago which is keeping the monthly running balance very reasonable - - which will help considerably with the year end reconciliation due with February 2016's payment.

My precious Noah is doing well. He is totally disgusted with the continual rainy weather - - is becoming quite vocal in his frustration about not having sunbeams. The good news is that as of last night's news report Joaquin is now forecasted to stay out to sea - - which is a relief for the entire eastern seaboard and us inlanders, although the seaboard towns and cities will have coastal / high tide flooding to deal with, and inlanders close to rivers and streams will have flooding conditions to deal with as well. Still if Joaquin had come closer to shore / inland conditions would be considerably worse. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Soon it will be time to get my precious Noah his lunch. Did some laundry this morning which is now ready to come out of the dryer. The big desk top is going through its security scans and will be able to shut it down when that is done.

Yesterday at work was really slow up until the afternoon when a few Sears stores lost their networks for credit cards. So a few more voice auths. The lady that sat with me a bit asked if I needed a ride when her hubby came to pick her up. Turns out they live in the subdivision by behind the #18 bus stop I use on Saturdays. So that was nice to not have that long walk going home.

Theresa and Tang are both well and were delighted to see me 1/2 an hour early. No balcony time last night due to the rain, but they are enjoying some now.

Tux was getting ready to attack the back cat as it ran scared up a tree. I told Tux to stop that as you're all in he same boat. The little black cat came back down, they touched noses and were perfectly civil to each other. Maybe I AM the cat whisperer

Hi Tracy, Good Sunday Evening to you and furbabies. I'm glad they are doing well. The kittens here are growing, almost as long as Fluffy. When they get lost from each other, they really look around for each other. The other day I kept hearing a big MEOW. It was Fluffy calling the kittens and was looking all over for them. One of the boxes we have on the carport is pretty big and sturdy with a rug on top. Every morning all three are on the box waiting for breakfast. Sometimes during the day they all snuggle together there. Then there's poor Socks, comes in from the back of the car like he's the loner. He has a plate of food too.

We are doing ok except for getting cold and miserable without electricity for 16 and a half hours from Fri. night until Sat. afternoon. It got cold because of the cold rain and wind. Fri night as I opened the fridge I heard a big BOOM somewhere, that's when the power went off. It came back on pretty quick for the neighbors in front of us and behind us, but our row of house didn't. After they got things fixed then they started upgrading. Our landline was dead too because we're with FPB. Good thing our cell phones were charged up. One of our nice neighbors brought us some coffee and donuts Sat morning. ( We were beginning to feel like a stray cat)

Well, I must go, my Columbo will be on soon. I hope your job keeps working out well for you and I hope you and furbabies stay well and happy. I always remember you all in my thoughts and prayers. I kind of got teary-eyed tonight. I was looking at some of Mickey's and our pics on the computer. They were good years that we had him. Work took a few turns today. Our tech training starts next Monday. Which means the 2 hours I have to kill will all be in front of my shift - But weekends off. A sup I vaguely remember from the old NPC/BOA whom I think hated me proved it yesterday and today (meaning I think she finally remembered me) Lunch was being served this week for tech, and since some of us are tech awaiting training I was led to believe it was OK to partake. I asked about it yesterday with a co-worker. She got an answer and all I got was an icy glare. Then today I was given a "message" I wasn't to touch the food under any circumstances. The same sup came over in the afternoon to tell my coworkers it was OK to eat. Again all I got was a glare. And here I thought the sup from Gannett was going to be my stumbling block (sigh) At least I don't report to her.

The bus home was more or less on time so I walked in the door at 6:30 to my wonderful welcoming committee At least THEY love me. Sorry you had a renewed unpleasant "contact" with a supervisor from a previous job. The good news is that she is not your supervisor now. It sounds like she has some real control "issues". There will be other luncheons you will be able to partake in, my friend - - without her which will make them all the more pleasant. I'm glad your tech training begins sooner - - this coming Monday, 10/12, if I read your time schedule correct.

The weather is wonderful today, things have dried out around here, so I donned my yard work clothes and cut back all of the overgrowth. This is the end of the growing season so there won't be anymore to cut back until next spring / summer. I still have the area around the propane tank to do, and the final mowing for both the front and back yards. Should be able to get the mowing done in the next couple of weeks depending on the weather. Also was able to get the rest of the oil /gas mix run through the snowblower so now I can do a fresh mixture if needed this winter.

My precious Noah has had his lunch and the timer on the stove is letting me know mine is now ready. That sup came up to me today and asked if I'd worked at BOA to which I replied "yes" and if I reported to her to which I replied "no" (not sure why that matters anyway - control freak thing I guess) and made a halfhearted offer of the food "now that tech has been served" I politely declined.

The bus home was 15 minutes late and that made me just barely miss the UPS bus home from my Dollar Tree run. Made me mad too since he stopped to let people off at the light and saw me waving from across the street He was even a couple minutes early. I wish I could get paid 21.00 per hour to be a jerk.

Theresa and Tang met me at the door letting me know in no uncertain terms I was late. Both are well, but Tang turned his nose up at the canned food for the first time in days (sigh) But Theresa ate it all.

Don't blame you for courteously declining the supervisor's invitation yesterday to participate in the luncheon. I remember when the office manager in my previous job informed me that I would no longer be able to participate in the luncheons before the staff meeting unless I worked the extra time to get paid. So I worked in the office until it was time to join the staff for the staff meeting. Then when I would join the staff for when the time the staff meetings were scheduled to begin, the manager would "invite" me to have some lunch - - to which I emphatically replied that i was there for the staff meeting only - - for which I would be paid.

Sorry you missed your bus connections yesterday - - how frustrating and irritating. The good news is that you did eventually get home safely to your precious fur family, and hope you are being able to enjoy most of this day together.

Getting caught up on some e-mails today. The sunbeams are playing hide and seek today as the clouds gather once again bringing another round of rain to the area tonight and into tomorrow. Hello moon_beam. Cloudy and sometimes rainy day greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope you are both doing well. Sounds like you had some pretty bad bosses too my friend.

My alarm went off at 6:00 but I was just so tired. I set it for 7:00 and proceeded with my laundry, taking care of my kids and the waifs.

I was going to walk home from my errands since I had so little I didn't need my cart. If I had, I would have stayed dry. But I looked at my watch and saw a UPS bus was due soon. Long story short, just as I was about to give up and walk, it finally came. But not before I got soaked From what the driver said, some kids got on at a high school around 9:00 (apparently got kicked out) Raised Cain on the bus and driver told them to get off and they wouldn't. So he had to call the police. Good enough reason for being late I guess, but I still got soaked. Bad as the (unsupervised ) brats running all over yesterday coming home from work on the back way and terrorizing bugs, then they went after Tux - I intervened, but even then no parents showed up. Little serial killers in the making.

The rest of the day has been spent napping and cuddling with Theresa and Tang (both are well) Tang laid down on my chest and this of course upset Theresa who would not come up even when Tang left (sigh)

Yes, last Caturday to work for at least 3 weeks. And do you know the lead had the audacity to ask if I wanted to work OT next Caturday? When I reiterated my difficulties getting there on the weekend (to say nothing of I NEVER come in on my days off) His response was "yeah, so?" Too, too many people on this planet with zero compassion

That being said, it was a busy day (for that department anyway) with over 50 calls Nobody to rescue me and I had the long walk to the bus stop going home. I was saddened to see a deceased raccoon on the side of the road on my walk

I stopped at Save a Lot for a couple things I forgot yesterday and still managed to walk home before the UPS bus would have been due. The stupid mail carrier left Tang's insulin syringes by my door instead of the package lockers. With all the drug heads in my apartments, I'm glad they weren't stolen.

One thing - - among many - - I learned during my employment years is that - - when you do something in a job - - even when it is difficult - - this sets a precedent that you are able to do it and are available to do it at any time a supervisor asks you do it. So the fact that you have been working Caturdays means that you are able to do it - - regardless of the stress involved for you to do it. Hence, the supervisor's inquiry yesterday about your interest in working overtime this coming Caturday, 10/17, and his indifference to your transportation challenges. The employer does not care about the "details" as to how an employee arrives at the job - - it is the employee's "problem" to figure out how he / she will show up on time to do the job. And they certainly do not care about how the employee gets home. I'm glad you were able to decline the query for overtime this coming Caturday.

We have sunbeams today with temps in the 60's. My precious Noah is thoroughly enjoying the sunbeams - - as am I. It's a low key day here as Sundays always are. I was up at 6:30 to my alarm. I took care of my kids and then provisioned the waifs. I napped on the sofa until the cable tech rang my bell about 8:20. I'd been seeing the faint, shadowy rolling lines. Turns out it was my VCR that I have it connected through causing interference. He left it partially connected and showed me how to put it back in case I want to tape something. Not much chance of that though since I got DVR on the box.

Was up around 9 a.m. this morning while Noah slept in. So while he was still slumbering under the blankets I decided to do some work on the big desk top. Got the finishing touches done on the Christmas cards, so just have the letters to print out to send with them to family members across the miles. Sooooo glad that project is now done. In the process my precious Noah joined me at the big computer and kept me company until everything was printed out. Much to his delight he has had his lunch and mine is in the final stages warming on the stove.

The first day of training was a little daunting, as it usually is, when so much material is thrown at you. It's interesting to see what has and has not changed in the 7 years I've been away from the industry. I did manage to mitigate the 2 hours I have to kill leading to my shift start by staying on the bus until Kroger. I got a bag of Iams Senior and several cans of Friskies.

The bus home was running 5 minutes late which worked out for me not getting off until 5:30 in that I didn't have to wait for it to come back around again. I also just barely missed the sky opening up (as it is still now) which was good.

Theresa and Tang are both well and pleased to see me as always. Theresa and I had a "tiff" this morning when she spit up in the food bowl (again, sigh) She tried her darnedest to be "cute" by way of apology this morning. But all was better when she reached up to get her "daddy hugs" a little while ago

We had a few more people from the NPC side in class today being trained for Vantiv. I just love starting with a company in "transition" (NOT) I'm holding back judgement until things start to unfold more fully. But anything has got to be better than the last few places.

My bus must have been right on time. But I only knew this from looking over the horizon to see it coming back around on the other side of the street where I usually catch it. I'll go ahead and call that a win for today's commute

Theresa and Tang both met me at the door and were quite pleased I was right on time Both are well and cleaned their can food bowls. Not much else going on as I get ready to settle in with the kids for the evening to watch Tang roll over on his back being "cute" and Theresa being my little lap cat as I watch my DVR show for the night

Hi, Tracy, sunny breezy Wednesday greetings to you and your precious princess Theresa and little prince Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits. So glad your travels home yesterday were expedient. This has to happen once in awhile if nothing else than for statistical "odds" sake.

My precious Noah is still peacefully slumbering under blankets as I'm writing to you, so thought I would send you a note and then start putting the Christmas cards together - - quiet time projects that hopefully will not disturb my precious boy. Otherwise not much on the agenda for today.

Training is progressing pretty well, with us having access to most of our apps. Had deal with what I can only describe as a very disturbed individual in class. A tech team lead no less taking Vantiv training. Me and another person got into a discussion about funny things our cats do. This lead proclaimed (loud and proud) "I SHOOT the neighborhood stray cats!" And went on to give a graphic description of shooting an unaltered male (for spraying his boat cover) so many times "I'm pretty sure I broke his hip" I'm not going to bother reporting this to HR for what I think are obvious reasons. But armed with his name, I AM going to report him to the local Humane Society and animal control. Like he could have called AC to address the issue?


The bus was five minutes late going home but not too bad. But my day of disturbed individuals didn't end at work. Walking down the sidewalk home from my bus stop, there were 3 kids no older than maybe 12-13 taking up the whole walk the opposite direction. As I got closer to them, I assumed they would go single file as most civilized people do. But no. The apparent "leader" in full hoodie regalia said "WALK AROUND YOU BLEEPING BLEEP!" I thought of calling him on it, but figured even at that age, there was a good chance he was probably "armed" People shooting cats, gangs of kids roaming around with no respect for adults. Well, I already determined what to do about the former, and as for the latter - probably dead or in jail before they are 20 (sigh)

My highlight of the day, of course, was Theresa and Tang meeting me at the door. Both are well and enjoying some rare good weather balcony time. I hope today has been kind to you and Noah and that you both have a blissful evening. TTFN

You did the right thing in taking the "high road" around the gang of kids. You truly do not need to risk your life or bodily harm. As for the tech team lead at work - - he is emotionally damaged for sure. I'm so sorry you had to endure his graphic rant. Since you were talking to another person it was basically very rude of him to interject himself into your conversation - - which shows how ill-mannered he is in addition to be emotionally damaged. I share your concern about his vicious behavior, and please let me know what happens from your reporting him to the humane society.

Decided to don my yard work clothes this morning to mow the front yard, and had enough energy to mow the back yard as well. So as far as I know the final mowing for the season is complete. Leaves are falling in earnest now, so eventually the leaf clean up chore will begin lasting through next spring.

My precious Noah was glad to see me when I got back inside. Kept me company while I took my shower, and was a very happy camper when I got him his lunch. Have finished my lunch and my precious Noah is stretched out on my lap keeping me company as I'm writing to you.

Just one more day to get through and then you will be home for the weekend with your precious companions - - two days in a row. I know you're looking forward to this. Hello moon_beam. Sunny and pleasant greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope this finds you both doing well. Sounds like you got a lot done outside today.

Emotionally damaged doesn't even begin to describe this creep. He's had other "rants" that have solicited some "Are you serious" looks from the trainer. I discovered a link to the ethics line on the home page of the company intranet that I could use to file a report anonymously, so I did just that. I'm not sure what I can do in regard to the civil authorities, but I will check into it.

Other than that, today was a much better day. Next week we are supposed to start getting into actual terminal downloads, file builds, and trouble shooting.

I missed my bus going the usual direction today. But once again, it was because it was right on time. So that was good. I had my greeting party at the door and they finished all their can food. Both Theresa and Tang are doing well as I am always happy to report. I have the sliding doors and bedroom window open to enjoy the fresh fall air. Perhaps balcony time while I watch my DVR shows.
