I didn't feel well when I woke up this morning and walking to work in the pouring rain didn't help. I must have looked and sounded as bad as I felt too. My manager sent an email asking if I was OK. I replied by Skype back that no and the rain the rain thing (I was fairly soaked) She asked if I needed to go home and I said probably but don't want to get fired. She said I won't get in trouble if she sends me home which she did.

Tang's been around all day and that's nice. He's well and has had his supper and shot and will get his treats later when I pit out food for the local waifs.

It's been a very busy day here. Started with an early rise for my appointment with my rheumatologist. Took my winter jacket to a place that does alterations to have them do some work on it so that it doesn't look quite so scraggly as it's over 30 years old and the wear is showing but it's still a very good coat. Then picked up my Kroger order. After I got done putting those provisions away I checked my email and saw that my WalMart order was ready for pick up so I went to get that. I will be glad when it's time to "shut down" for the day - - I'm tired. Haven't seen precious Buster yet today. When I got back with my Kroger order the yard contractor was doing more maintenance, so I'm hoping his mom and dad were able to keep him inside his home safe from the noisy and scary machinery.

Work was OK. I had my first 1 on 1 with my manager and she seems pleased with my work. Just watch the attendance (she even said come in if you can when you're sick so I can send you home so you don't get points) and tips for more 100s on my QAs. She talked like converting me at my 90 days (09/14) to FTE is a done deal and to just remind her so she can start the paperwork.

Tang was happy to see me when I got home. He's doing well and has had his supper and shot and will get his treats when I put food out for the local waifs. Tabby is the only one I've been seeing, but she's a character

Sounds like yesterday had some challenges at work but hope you were able to leave at the end of your shift rather than have to stay over until the meeting ended.

Today has been busy reconciling the checkbook with the bank statement and getting receipts coordinated and ready for filing. My brother came by to help me with a project. I got a new, and better, TV antenna so he put it together and through some trial and error testing of best places for reception turns out the attic gives the best reception while keeping all my channels. But it was hot in the garage and he needed some tools that I don't have, so we called it a day. I still have the "old" antenna hooked up until he comes back to do the final installation for me whenever it's convenient for him. Sweet Buster came by while we were working on this project, and sadly I wasn't able to focus on him - - so he left. I hope he'll come back before the evening so that we can have a proper visit for awhile.

Today we had lunch at Zaxby's again. From there we went to what we thought was a street fair but was just a shopping center tent sale. Oh well. From there we went to Half Price Books to get some activity books for Anne's Nephew's B-Day party tomorrow. Then we went down to Petsmart where both cat and dog rescue groups are still there. I got to hold a black kitty named Bug who almost fell asleep on my shoulder From there it was Walmart for some supplies and home.

Tang is doing well. He's had his supper and shot and will get his treats later. I already put the waif food out as I saw Tabby's little paws sticking out of the bottom of Anne's car. She's looking better these days.

I was feeling better at the start of the day. So, remember the FTE meeting I told you about Friday? We RemX people had one today. Seems that the Takeda/Shire merger we already knew about is taking a turn for the ugly. They say we have to go to the other location clear on the other side of town starting 09/09/2019 I emailed the RemX person and spoke to my manager and we are trying to see if I can get on another team so I can stay at the close by location. They let the woman who sat next to me do it so she could have an earlier schedule to be able to pick up her daughter from day care. I don't see why they can't do it for me. The buses don't run often or very late and it's a 2 hour trip one way

Couldn't get to sleep very easily last night so instead of lying in bed looking at the ceiling and tossing and turning I got up and worked on some financials on the computer. This morning I got the payments for September logged into my checkbook so now all I need to do is begin writing checks for the bills I can't pay online. I guess I'm a bit confused: Please correct me if I'm wrong: You are now an employee of McKesson. I presume your paycheck comes from McKesson. I was under the impression that Remx was the referral agency that you worked through to get the job - - even though it wasn't a smooth transaction by any stretch of the imagination. So why would Remx be involved in your employer's / manager's decision to keep you employed at your current location? Because you went through Remx are you considered a "contract employee" - - thus requiring Remx to "approve" your job location? I'm a RemX employee. I won't be eligible to transition until 09/14. The client of McKesson (Takeda) is making that decision. I was able to speak with the RemX rep today though. What she tried to say without saying it, I think, is I can say my last day on this assignment will be 09/06 and I'm not making the move. Then 09/09 call RemX and say I'm available for a new assignment which would be at the location I'm at in a different roll. I talked it over with Anne and we feel it's a better option than moving as even with her dad giving me rides home (which would only be temporary) it's not sustainable.

Worked on financials today starting the process of scheduling online payments for upcoming bills. Had technical challenges with my desk top after updates had been done to both Windows and the internet security program. After doing the restart several times without any improvement I completely shut down the computer, unplugged it and the router, waited a few minutes then plugged everything back in and turned the computer back on, and that seemed to f i n a l l y "debug" whatever was causing the glitches. Sweet Buster hasn't come by yet for a visit today but I hope to see him before the afternoon is over.

No, I will not be able to stay on my current manager's team. That's kind of the issue. That team MUST go to East Point per the client. What the Remx rep is saying is I will say due to being unable to make the move I am ending my "current" assignment on 09/06/2019. Then call them and get a new assignment Monday 09/09/2019. Which should be a different dept at Jeff Commons assuming she's being straight with me. It will probably reset my 90 clock, but that's to RemX's benefit monetarily.

I'm so sorry you're having to go the route of re-applying for another job at McKesson. I can just imagine how aggravating this is for you. What about your income during this time - - will you have anything to rely on? I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that you'll receive a reassignment quickly, my friend, - - and with a supervisor / manager who will be at least as supportive of you as the one you've had there already. Please let us know how things go.

It's been an interesting day here. The smoke detector in the guest bedroom decided to start sounding off around 7 a.m.. At first it was brief intermittent beeps, and then around 7:30 it set off the rest of the detectors briefly (there are 4 total) - - then stopped, then resumed its intermittent beeps. So I got up on my nifty safety step ladder and pushed the re-set button which seemed to satisfy all the detectors. Then around 10 a.m. or so the detector in the guest bedroom started beeping again. There is no reason for it to beep - - I wasn't cooking (I run a table top fan on top of the refrigerator when I cook), there was no smoke at all in the condo, and there were no flames. So again I climbed the safety step ladder to press the re-set button but this time the re-set didn't last very long. So I called the condo office to let the admin secretary know what was happening and supposedly since the detectors are hard-wired the electrician who is on record of doing the installation has to come to "troubleshoot" the problem. IN ADDITION while all this stuff was going on I turned on my lap top today to do the security updates for both Windows 7 and my internet security program, and encountered the same problem I had yesterday with my desk top. Only this time I wasn't able to resolve the technical issue. So I called AVG and the tech rep did a remote access into my lap top to diagnose the problem. After trying this, that, and another thing the tech decided to uniinstall the security program and then reinstall it - - to the tune of $159 which gives me a year's technical support on both my lap top and my desk top. Everything seems to be working okay now. In the course of doing the trouble-shooting the tech rep discovered that somehow McAfee had been installed on my laptop - - not by me - - at least not knowingly. It could have come already installed when I bought the lap top 8 or 9 years ago - - it was discovered running in the background not obvious in the Programs folder. So the tech deleted that which is fine with me. The tech rep did tell me that other customers had also encountered a problem with the Windows updates and AVG's, and the rep also told me that my lap top looks to be in good shape technically-wise for at least another 7 to 10 years. So that's really good news. So this just leaves the mystery of the smoke detectors to figure out.

Sweet Buster has come by to visit with me. I am enjoying his second visit of the day as I'm writing to you. At the moment he's stretched out on the table in front of the window on the garage side of the condo taking a nap.

I spoke top the RemX rep today and gave her my "decision" She said she'd start working on it. Hopefully the gap won't be too long as she said before they still have plenty of jobs to fill at Jeff Commons. It's also in their best interest to move fast for the income as well and avoiding another round of background and drug testing. I think the main thing is to remove my name from the Takeda list so they don't throw a fit. I think it's more about them than McKesson; they'll take any good help they can find.

Anne was out sick today but feels better now. At least that got me a ride home. Tang is doing well and has had his supper and shot and will get his treats when I put the food out for the local waifs later.

Am sorry Anne was not feeling well yesterday but am glad she seemed to be doing better yesterday evening. Please let us know how she's doing.

With the help of Abigail's mom last night I was able to contact the maintenance rep for the condos. He came by around 9:30 p.m. to put in another battery which helped to stop the faulty smoke detector from making a racket. The smoke detectors are hard-wired but - - they do have a 9 volt battery back up. The location of the battery is a small hide-away compartment located at the top of the unit - - so it's not obvious unless you know where to look. In all the manuals that were left with me about the kitchen appliances, the heat pump, etc., NOTHING was left about the smoke detectors. So I have been totally clueless about how they actually operate - - until I watched the maintenance rep last night access the battery compartment. The maintenance rep called me this morning to let me know he will pick up new batteries for each of the smoke detectors and will come "sometime" to install them. However I'm to call him if any of them begin to beep again and he'll come sooner. Today has been focused on updating my billing information with some online creditors for one of my credit cards with the new expiration date. And I'm happy to share with you that my desk top is continuing to work okay so there are no lasting ill effects from Thursday's updating challenges. Both sweet Buster and beautiful Bonnie came to visit me this morning. Bonnie didn't stay long. Buster has come and gone several times but is here with me now taking a nap on the chair at the Secretary Desk as I'm writing to you.

Today we decided to have lunch on the cheap with coupons from Steak and Shake to the tune of 7.93; not bad for 2 people. Then I called Banfield to confirm Tang's 10:00 drop off tomorrow for his check up. While over there we went to CVS to try to get my RX but the line was a mile long Maybe tomorrow. Anne is doing better and last I checked was working on her FTE offer letter for work online. At least one of us is heading the right direction

We were going to go to the state fair for it's final weekend but decided it's not worth paying 10.00 each for them having nothing new this year. Plus the fire cracker/gun shot incident from the other night. What we did do was used our annual membership to visit the zoo since Micki the elephant just had her baby. But they were off exhibit for bonding. We did get to see both a tiger and snow leopard demonstration which consisted of feeding, check up and training. They both did the "paw presentation" which was neat. Since we went early and it was cooler the other animals were pretty active too.

Tang is doing well and has had his supper and shot (got new syringes and insulin at Walmart today) He will get his treats later when I set food out for the local waif.

Am enjoying reading a library book by Tom Clancy "The Bear and The Dragon" which is a fictitious espionage story involving Russia and China, the failed assassination of a Russian diplomat in Russia ordered by a Chinese delegate, trade relations between the US and China, and the murder of a Vatican emissary in China - - all of which are somehow related to one another - - the thickness of War and Peace. It's at a point now where the book is getting really interesting. Sweet Buster is here with me. He's stretched out on the big sofa in the living room area taking a nap as I'm writing to you.

Anne was trying to complete some paperwork online for her offer of permanent employment with McKesson,. She'd still have to go to work but she'd no longer be a contractor. I'd be following her in that around the end of September if this stupid move hadn't come up Also, to my knowledge, the zoo is open year round barring inclement weather.

Tang's check up went well I think. They tried to rope me into an all day BG arc, but I can't afford the 57.00 right now. Besides, it would have been less than 6 hours and they are not remotely accurate at any less than 8. They also tried to sell me heart worm meds. Did they not read his chart? He's already heart worm positive and there's no treating that in cats He was a little shaken up by the "ordeal" but he seems fine now. He's had his supper and shot and will get his treats later when I put the food out for the local waifs (fed the ones at the old place today but didn't see any)

I'm very glad to share your news that your precious Tang's check up went reasonably well. Was it the vet or a vet tech who was trying to "encourage" the arc test and heartworm prevention? I do understand how frustrated you felt about an obvious lack of knowledge about your precious Tang's medical status. I constantly had to remind the vet tech staff that my beloved Noah wasn't on insulin for his diabetes. Your precious Tang is so very blessed to have you and Anne taking care of him. And even though you didn't see any of the waifs at your previous residence when you provisioned them I know they appreciate your dedication to their care.

I'm glad Anne is being able to begin her transition to full time employee, and I know you will be able to make that transition, too. Perhaps an arrangement can be worked out that your new assignment can include time already worked so that you can make the transition from "contract" to full time employee in September. Please let us know how things go.

Got my errands done early this morning. Shortly after I got back to the condo sweet Buster was at the door waiting patiently for the opportunity to come inside. He's come and gone several times already, and at the moment he's out and about making his neighborhood rounds. Perhaps he'll come back again later this afternoon for a more extended visit.

When I fired up the big desk top this morning the internet security program was acting up again, much to my aggravation. So I tried doing the "fix it" exercise which was a total failure. Then I did what the tech did last week for the lap top: I totally uninstalled AVG and then did a new reinstall, and so far - - at least for today - - that satisfied the program. Consoled that the security program was once again functioning I then finished scheduling the usual bill-a-thon payments for September. Sweet Buster has come and gone several times today but he was here with me when the mail was delivered. When I went out to get it he went out with me and then came back inside. He then left to go out on his afternoon rounds in the neighborhood. Perhaps he'll return again so that I can wish him a pleasant evening with his family.

Just as well as I hate that and I sure don't want to be on their radar because then it would be nigh impossible to quietly change lines of business and stay there.

Sweet Buster has been to visit with me a couple of times today. His previous visit was shortened by the yard contractor who was here mowing - - for whatever unknown reason as we haven't had any real rain to make the ground cover grow. Buster is terrified of the machines so he left and sought safety in the wooded area that separates the condo complex from the individual residential homes. About a half hour after the ground crew left sweet Buster returned and is comfortably settled in the chair in the living room area taking a nap. Before he arrived beautiful Bonnie came for a visit. She investigated the rooms and then left to go on her neighborhood rounds.

We went to the old place to put out food first thing this morning, but I didn't really see any of the waifs. I think I may have seen that black cat way down the left side of the path perhaps.

Then we went to Kroger an Dollar Tree for the provisions we didn't get at Walmart yesterday. Not much else going on. Tang is well and has had his supper and shot. He'll get his treats later. Same for the local waifs it would seem. Tabby is under the blue car that's been in Anne's spot since yesterday (I swear they do that on purpose to be jerks)

And speaking of jerks. The reason I can't feed/water her is because there's one just sitting on his porch while his kids run wild through the parking lot.This is the piece of work who alternates between throwing his wife/GF out of the house and beating his oldest child in the parking lot. I called the police on the latter once and the dispatcher could not have cared less. I hope she stays chill under that car until the nitwit goes inside.

Sounds like you and Anne had a busy day yesterday with errands. I can imagine your and Anne's horror watching that man beat his child in the parking lot. I'm sorry to have to agree with you - - law enforcement in terms of "group authority" leaves a LOT to be desired. I was raised by my parents to have respect for authority - - but I have always held that authority on every level needs to EARN that respect just like every other individual has to. And sadly much to my life's observation thus far that isn't the norm for "groups" of authority - - individuals, yes - - groups, not so much. I hope little Tabby stayed safe under the car until she / he saw you and Anne put out the food.

I had a chance to have lunch with my friend (ex-volunteer) this afternoon. She confirmed what I had come to suspect over the past year - - she and her husband are getting ready to sell their home and move back to Pennsylvania to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. My friend has some medical challenges that none of the doctors here so far have been able to suitably help her with, and her daughter who is a doctor wants her mom - - and dad - - geographically closer to her so that she can help her mom, and dad, with their medical needs. I TOTALLY agree with that. I don't like the doctors who have so far been attending to my friend's medical needs, and I told her during lunch that this was one of the reasons why I also moved from Franklin County to Bedford for better medical care. My friend has been going to the company-owned medical professionals that I used to work for - - and grew to HATE. But this company virtually OWNS the medical care in that territory so there isn't much choice in providers. I will miss my friend very much, but we'll still keep in touch with one another with email. I'm so very glad I made the geographic move to Bedford last summer. Sweet Buster came to visit about an hour before I left to meet my friend at the restaurant. He heard me open the storm door as I was leaving and came outside to inquire where I was going. I stroked his head and told him I was going to meet a friend for lunch but that he could stay if he wanted. So he went back inside and I saw him watching me drive away as he was looking out the window on the storm door. When I got back he was still here - - sleeping soundly in the chair in the living room area. He roused long enough to greet me while I got my clothes changed and is now in the laundry basket taking another nap as I'm writing to you. He is such a character!!!

We didn't do much today as I'm not feeling so hot. We went to have lunch at a Mexican buffet we hadn't been to in while. Unfortunately as it was a holiday it was weekend rates Oh well. From there we went to the Peddler's Mall to look for DVDs (didn't find any) Then Dollar General grocery store over there for some forgotten items and then home.

Tang is well and has had his shot and supper. He'll get his treats later on. Tabby did stay under the car until it was safe last night. She's had her first serving of can food too.

So, I was able to speak with the on site RemX person. She said (stupid as this sounds) they can't even talk to me about another assignment until this one is officially ended. I emailed her (CC my manager and her boss and BCC myself) of the "official" end date and she gave me the name and number of the person I'm supposed to call 09/09/2019

The infusion went okay yesterday but I was tired after I got home. When I did get back he was on the doorstep to greet me and came inside with me. He must have sensed I needed to rest because he left a little earlier than usual and didn't return for the remainder of the late afternoon. He is here with me as I'm writing to you taking a nap in the laundry basket. He is such a sweetheart.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but it was a traumatic day. After Anne dropped me off at work, she called me panicked and crying about a dying kitten in the parking lot. She rushed him/her to Metro Animal Control but it was too late Then when she got back from there and then came to work, she heard another kitten crying from her engine area. We think they both lost their mommy and came around here for the food we leave out then got up into the engine/wheel well area. Our theory is the one kitten got knocked loose when she went over a speed bump in our lot and it was head trauma The amazing thing is the other kitten held on all that time with all those trips. With my and her dad and co-worker's help we freed the kitten and she took him home and locked him in the upstairs bathroom. Her boss was kind enough to let her leave with me at 6:00 (as long as she came back) to take him to Metro. I had to put on gloves to capture him in the tub as he jumped all the way up to the faucet He's been put into the adoption system and Anne wrote down his number and we are keeping tabs on him. If he checks out healthy enough, we are going to adopt him and name him Tyler.

On the work front, I emailed the contact at RemX I was given this morning saying this was my last day on the assignment. When I got home she'd replied asking my availability for shifts and location. So keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm so oooooooo sorry about the loss of the little kitten. I do know how saddened your hearts are. The good news is that with a team effort the other little kitten was able to be saved and is now receiving the medical care he needs to get strong so that he can join your family. Will you and Anne be able to visit him while he's at Metro / adoption system? Please let us know how he's doing. And it is good news that you have acknowledgement from your Remx contact to begin your new placement process. Thought I would try to take a walk this morning but as I was getting ready to leave sweet Buster came. If I had tried to go on my walk he would have followed me, and that is a definite not good idea. So instead I have been keeping him company while he enjoys sweet slumbers in the laundry basket. Abigail's mom came to ask me if I would check on Abigail around 5 p.m. or so because she and her husband were going to spend time with their son and family this afternoon and evening who are visiting their daughter in law's parents who live at the lake. Their son and his family live at VA Beach so they were here this week while Dorian was going up the coast. I told her it would be a pleasure to check on their sweet girl. They should be home a little after 8 p.m. or so.

Anne has the kitten's system number and has been following his progress online. She tired calling the adoption house today but kept getting messages they were closed even though the web said said they were open. I asked her to email me the info so I could follow him too. We are doing everything to make sure we can bring him home as we believe this all happened for a reason.

Today we took in the art fair by the Ohio river waterfront park. Parking was a nightmare, but we finally found a lot that wasn't full yet. That's the problem with these things: It's only been going on 3 years, but once the "hipsters" get wind and decided they have "discovered" it, it goes downhill in terms of crowds. It was a good art fair and there were plenty of puppers there though.

From there we went to Walmart for some staples and home. Tang is doing well. He's had his supper and shot and will get his treats later. We've been talking to him about the prospect of a little brother and he seems intrigued. He sure seemed worried about the little guy in the bathroom yesterday. I put the food out for Tabby and Socks but have nor seen either of them yet. I hope they;re OK.
