We didn't do much today but get supplies for lunches at work this week. A short week for going to work but not one for actually doing a lot of work.

Tang was in good spirits when we left as it was warm enough for him to have some balcony time. Hopefully he still will be when we get back.

Have you talked to the waifs who have been waiting for you about your move and where you're going? They understand everything you say to them. I would not be surprised if you saw at least some of them navigate over to your new home area if you tell them where you'll be. You can reassure them that you won't forget about them - - that you'll be by a couple times during the week to check on them and leave them food. It will be interesting to share your news as to how the waifs adjust to your move.

I know you and Anne, and your precious Tang, will be glad when the move is completed and you're settled into your new home - - at the very least functional. Have you already selected where Tang's food bowl will be? Does he have a deck he can go out on during the good weather days, or do you trust him to stay on a deck? Would not want him to try his "amazing Tang" antics - - or worse - - end up missing - - perhaps trying to make his way back to his familiar apartment. Please let us know how he adjusts to his new home.

Have been doing some work on the big desk top computer today. Ordered a small travel bag from Amazon this morning which will be helpful on the days when I have infusion treatments. With a gift card the bag won't cost me anything. That's always nice. It should be here by Wednesday, 1/24. And have been working on Noah's Memorial Booklet today doing some "finishing touches" on the layout. So I should be able to go to "press" soon. I know I said that once before, but made some changes to the format. I like the newer format better. Also called the post office when it opened at 8 a.m. to let the carrier know that I have a new mailbox. I should be getting my mail delivered today that has been held for about a week. So I will be making a trek to the mailbox later today to - - hopefully - - get my mail. Will start getting some lunch fixed after I get this sent to you.

I'm so glad you saw Little Tux yesterday morning during your provisioning - - your faithful sentry keeping watch. By the way, have you thought about getting a new driver's license to drive Anne's car - - or is that not an option. I was thinking if you did / could, your travels to visit / provision the waifs would be easier on you. But I know you will find a way to continue to help them by whatever means you get to them.

There are many options now for window perches / benches. Some include a screened "bump out" that gives more room to view the outside wildlife. But these items can be on the expensive side. I know you and Anne will do everything in your power to give your precious Tang comfortable viewing. Please let us know how things go - - whatever you feel comfortable sharing with us.

Have been working on "this and that" projects on the big desk top today, and have printed out most of Noah's Memorial Booklet. Just need to print out one more page, and then begin working on the "finishing touches" which will take some time. But at least it's progressing now. So maybe sometime in the next couple of months or so I'll actually have something to send to you. Tomorrow I have a couple of quick errands to run - - one to the post office and one to the pharmacy.

Little Tux is such a special boy keeping his appointed sentry duty. Am keeping all the community waifs in my thoughts and prayers that they are safe, well, and warm.

An area on the tile floor here in the basement living quarters had some noticeable scuff marks from moving furniture around over the course of time, and I really wanted to get rid of them - - or at least blanch them out - - as best as possible. So this morning I got my little bucket and mixed some Dawn dish soap with hot water in it, got my long handled scrub mop and my regular mop and a can of WD 40 and went at the areas. It took several sprays of the WD 40 to loosen the scuff marks but between that and the hot soap and water scrubbed with my scrub mop and regular mop I managed to diminish the scuff marks to being a bit less noticeable. Whoever buys this house will probably want to replace the tile floor or put carpet over it - - but that's their decision. Also have been working on Noah's memorial booklet today, specifically beginning the process of sealing the ink on the frame for his picture on the front of the booklet. I want to seal the ink so that it doesn't smear when I paste the frame around his picture. Also need to trim his picture to size for the frame so still have some things to do on it. But it is beginning to look like things are coming together, and that's progress all by itself.

Well, we got all furniture and various other large items into the town house with 4 movers and a 26' truck (as well as the cargo van). Anne is going keep the cargo van through Monday and hiring 2 of the 4 movers to help with the rest of our stuff and tossing out the rest.

Tang fought us going into the carrier to come over here when we got the furniture from my old place; gave out the most pitiful and plaintive meow you ever heard He stayed in his carrier in the upstairs full bath and would not come out until we pretty much made him. Then he just hid behind furniture. But by around 11 PM when we were finally able to sit down and watch TV and have a bite to eat, he did a complete 180 He tested out both couches (which we turned into a sectional of sorts) and both chairs. He also played with his toys and slid on the carpet like a baseball player sliding into home base He seems to be adjusting pretty well. He's even gone upstairs several times.

The Sunday paper was hanging on the front door this morning. So they seemed to have gotten the move done. As will my LG&E be the 30th. I hope yesterday was kind to you and that you have warm and comfortable evening. Peace and Blessings.

Tang continues to adjust to our new home is positive way. He's up and down the stairs and using both litter boxes. I put his food and water bowls "buffet" style up against the wall between the kitchen and the dining area.

We have yet to get her washer and dryer hooked up and were going to try the laundry room with 20 washers and 10 over sized dryers. We thought with that many machines getting 3 shouldn't be so hard. Wrong. We did find 3 in a row but the change machine was out of order. (one person feeding it 20s no doubt) So Anne is off trying to find change.

Sooooooo very glad to share your news that your precious Tang is continuing to settle into his new home. It sounds like you and Anne are doing everything you can to make his adjustment as easy as possible. And having his Forever Dad and Anne with him is certainly a HUGE help. I know you and Anne will be sooo glad to have your own washer and dryer. I can imagine your frustration yesterday anticipating being able to get your laundry done only to have to the aggravation of having to go somewhere to get change to operate the machines. We had a power failure last night around 10 p.m.. It lasted for about 2.5 hours. Am glad I had the emergency generator to keep things working until the power came back on. Made the trek into the city okay to my rheumatologist's office for my blood tests. Got back to the house about an hour ago. So sorry that things become more complicated yesterday finishing up the moving process for Anne to deal with. I hope she wasn't too frazzled by the time you got home. I can certainly understand how frustrated she must have felt - - I have "been there done that" a few times in my life, and will quite possibly be going through it again at some point in time in the future. I hold her in my highest regard for enduring through the "stuff" that happened, and hope you both can now begin to focus on settling into your new home.

After I got chores done this morning I worked on Noah's memorial frames for the picture on the front of his booklet - - putting the first layer of sealant on the frame. After I get this posted I will put a second coat on and then let that have a good dry for a day or so. Also need to check the meter on the propane tank to make sure I have enough fuel should there be another power outage for whatever reason. The weather forecast for this coming Sunday into Monday, 2/5, is questionable with winter weather, which the weather forecast last night was indicating could be "significant" - - so I'm hoping this forecast will change for the better over the course of the next several days. I have an appointment with my rheumatologist next Wednesday, 2/7, and I really don't want the weather to prevent me from keeping it.

Well, we are officially all moved in. I dropped off my keys last night and Anne dropped hers off tonight. We met up with her folks who had a few odds and ends in their pickup truck.

Work was OK but I don't look forward to going in tomorrow when we will be allowed to start reissuing W2s Oh well, just 2 more days this work week.

Tang met us at the door as usual. He's still doing pretty well. He's had his supper and shot and sitting in the living room window while Anne takes her shower.

Today has been on the busy side. Received a call from the pharmacy yesterday afternoon about my prescriptions that needed renewing and was able to pick them up this morning. Also got my supplies from WalMart delivered by 11 a.m. which was helpful as my regular volunteer arrived around 11:30 this morning, so I was able to get chores and errands done before she arrived. We had a nice chat for a few minutes after she took my garbage can out to the street and brought me the mail. So it's nice to just relax now and share the day's activities so far with you. Nothing else on the agenda for today except the regular stuff - - fix lunch and evening chores before settling in for the night. This must sound like I'm very lazy but what I am able to do takes a lot of energy. I was talking to my volunteer about this today - - compared to what I used to be able to do. Although I am doing better than what I was this time last year I am still significantly weaker than what I used to be just 3 years ago. It's amazing what an auto-immune illness like rheumatoid arthritis can do.

Work was not as bad as I thought it was going to be with the W2s once we got the hang of the systems. Our payment system is down so we could process any requests for expedited mail or employees who's companies have co-pays though.

Tang was in good spirits when we got home (that has a whole new meaning now) He's had his supper and shot and is settling in. I discovered we have some ants when I went to service his food and water bowls I called that into the office VM and swept and vacuumed up what I could.

We have not connected the washer and dryer but are going to this Saturday after last weekends experience

I can imagine how nice it is for you, your precious Tang, and Anne now living together in the same home. And how nice it is for Anne no longer having to travel back and forth from her previous apartment to your and Tang's previous apartment. I am smiling for each of you.

I know what you're going through with the invasion of the "ant people." I got ant traps from the store and placed them behind the refrigerator and under the stove and this helped to manage the invasion. I hope the management doesn't go in and just spray around your precious Tang's food and water bowls - - this would be tragic. I know you have taken precautions for this, but I have found that some people are focused on remedying the problem with no perception about how they do it. Please let us know how things go.

Have been working on financials today - - scheduling payments online. I received my year end "settlement" electric bill yesterday and it is about $120 more than what I anticipated it would be - - a bit of a budget cruncher this year. Consequently my monthly budget payment beginning next month will be $20 more a month than what it has been. This cold winter is taking its toll, but even with the $20 increase it is still on the manageable side. I have been spoiled these past 3 years with lower year end and monthly budget payments. Yesterday I received my steam cleaner so will need to put it together sometime this weekend.

Work was kind of slow for a Friday which was a blessing. We stopped off at my old place after work to put food out for the waifs; didn't see any though.

When we got back here Tang met us at the back door (back door and stairs. It's so nice) He's had his supper and shot and is settling in. They did fix the faucet and sprayed for ants (at least the manager said they did) The company they use is the same as where I sued to live and I know they use non toxic methods; Tang seems no worse for wear. I did throw out his old food and washed the bowls though. He seems well.

Since I had nothing major on the agenda for today I began the packing process in the upstairs living room packing the delicate memorabilia. I have two boxes done and will have one more but I ran out of packing paper that I have been saving from WalMart and Amazon deliveries. So I will need to get more of that before I can proceed. Thought I could use a small step stool to stand on get the curtains down from the windows but realized that was not an option for me so I'm hoping my brother will be able to help me with that at some point whenever he comes to accompany me to an MD appointment. It took me about 2.5 hours to do the two boxes so it's nice to sit now for awhile getting caught up with emails and getting a note off to you.

We hooked up the washer and dryer yesterday with minimal fuss. I did my laundry yesterday and hers today. We tried to return the packing supplies to U-Haul today we didn't use, but Anne unfortunately could not find the receipt and they were taking forever to try process the refund. We just decided to keep it. We went to Walmart and Kroger in that part of town to pick up stuff for lunches and dinners the week. We got foot long sub to split for lunch and came home to watch the Roku.

We still need to do more unpacking and hang pictures and hopefully my Klingon bat'leth. Tang has been especially pleased to have us both around as well as TWO couches and TWO chairs He's had his supper and shot and is doing well.

Errands are finally done. Needed to make a run to the post office, to get gas in the car, and to pick up more packing paper at the UHaul place in town. Nowhere here in the close vicinity where I live sells packing paper - - not even the UPS Store. That's a bit strange to me, and inconvenient, but the important thing is I found a place where I could get a bundle. Now I can proceed with the packing process. Chores are done so far for the day so am taking a moment to rest and get a note to you. I finally received the results of my blood tests for my rheumatologist last week and everything seems to be "normal." Tomorrow I have my appointment with my rheumatologist so may not be online tomorrow. Just want to let you know so that you won't be concerned.

Work call volume was fairly light which isn't too unusual when getting out of Monday. Two down and 3 to go before the end of another work week.

Tang met us at the door as usual. We moved his food and water bowls since some of the ants came back So we treated the floor around the vent with a 50/50 water vinegar solution as recommended online. Then we blocked it off from Tang so it can dry. I'm afraid to have them call OPC again and they using even stronger potentially harmful chemicals. He is doing well overall though.

It has been a long 2 days. Yesterday's appointment with my rheumatologist went well. Things are going well at this stage, and I'm to continue the medication and treatments as prescribed. I see her again in 3 months. Tuesday evening, 2/6, I noticed the back lower tooth on the right side of my mouth was feeling very jagged, and I had to call my dentist yesterday to arrange an appointment. I saw my dentist this afternoon. It is the same tooth she did a repair job on this time 2 years ago, and was told then that if /when the repair wears off the only other option will be a crown. She confirmed that for me this afternoon. She smoothed the jagged edges today so that my tongue won't be quite so sore rubbing against the tooth, and the process for getting a crown begins next Tuesday morning, 2/13. The good news is that it won't be as expensive for me this time because of the dental insurance I have. My co-pay will still be some "sticker shock" but I won't have to pay the total cost for it like I had to 4 years ago when I needed a crown on another tooth. That price tag was close to $3,000.

Have done the chores that have needed to be done today, have had my lunch, and am now taking an opportunity to rest and share the news with you.

We just bagged on the sofas watching HBO/Cinemax movies on demand (since it's part of Anne's package) for free. Tang could not decide who he wanted pets from more and finally settled in the office chair in front of my PC desk. He's had his supper and shot and is doing well. We have not seen any ants lately either.

I'm so sorry you and Anne were not feeling well yesterday. Indeed, the news media is frequently reporting that the flu and its variations are rampant this season and highly contagious. Although medical officials are recommending infected people stay home from work / school, people without sick pay or have employers who expect employees to show up for work no matter what don't have the luxury of staying home. So they go in and infect the rest of the employees as well as customers they wait on. I hope you and Anne are feeling better today.

Not much going on here today. Am working a bit on my beloved Noah's memorial. I can't believe tomorrow will be 3 months to the date since he joined the angels. Last night when I went to tune into Hulu I got a screen telling me to go online to activate my account and log in. So I fired up my lap top and logged into my Hulu account just fine. Had to request a live chat and got a message that both the live chat and telephone contacts were overwhelmed with customer service, but I did get a message instructing me to go back to my Roku site on my TV and then re-start my Hulu. I did that and was finally able to get into my programs. There was definitely a "glitch" in Hulu's technology yesterday evening, but am glad I was finally able to get into my programs.

We didn't have to work today but do next Caturday. We didn't do much today but get some lunch, peruse the mal, and get most of our weekly staples. We didn't get over to the old place to check on the waifs though, but are going to tomorrow morning. I hope they've been doing OK.

It sounds like you and Anne are beginning to feel better, and I'm so glad you didn't have to work this weekend so that you had longer time to get your strength back. The gentleman who has been helping me with some things around the house came by this morning to try to put a new light switch on the upstairs hallway light. It's a 3 way light, and one of the switches needs replacing. However, in spite of his valiant efforts he was not able to get the new switch to operate properly, so I will need to call in an electrician to sort that out. He helped me get the big picture down in the upstairs master bedroom, and then he went on his way to enjoy the day with his family. Since I was already upstairs I took down the rest of the pictures in each of the bedrooms and got the remaining curtain valances down in the master bedroom and the back guest room. Also got a few other things taken care of and now I think I'm close to being able to call in a painter. I'm a bit on the weary side so am looking forward to taking the remainder of the afternoon and evening to rest up. My lunch is in the final stages cooking on the stove so will get this off to you.

It was a pretty lazy Sunday in the old townhouse. I had to call for a redeliver on the paper, but it finally came. We then went to Walmart to get a Tracfone card (I ate up a lot of minutes texting that Tuesday I had to work but Anne didn't) Having a plan is nice because I bought an hour but got another hour as a bonus for having a monthly plan.

We came back here with Subway for lunch and hooked up Anne's laptop to the TV to watch some MST3K - the You-Tube on the Roku doesn't seem to want to stay loaded

Tang has been pretty chill the whole day. But he REALLY seems to want outside these days in the new place He's had his supper and shot and is doing well otherwise.

Am so glad you and Anne, and your precious Tang, had a good day yesterday. I can imagine your precious boy is wondering why he isn't getting any "balcony time". I hope he doesn't try to sneak out on you and / or Anne when you have a door open. Cats are notorious escape artists - - as you probably already know. Please let us know how your precious boy is doing.

It has been busy here today. Have done a load of laundry - - beginning the loads of curtains. Have several more loads of curtains to wash. Did a bit more packing upstairs and started getting the "storage" room emptied so that the painter will be able to see what needs to be done. It's really one of the 3 bedrooms upstairs, but it has turned into a "storage" room over the years. Done some work on my beloved Noah's memorial, and now am taking a rest. Am a bit weary today so am using my walker to help make the navigating more comfortable. Tomorrow I won't be able to do much of anything as I have my dental appointment to begin the process of getting a crown on the tooth that needs it. I may not be online at all tomorrow because of the dental work. Just want to let you know so that you aren't concerned.

Tang never wanted to go outside this much at the old place, and would actually come back in after a short time. We are watching him closely though. We are going to try to get a 4 wheel shopping cart on the cheap and re-purpose it for him when it gets warmer. He's had his supper and shot and is doing well.

Been a busy day here. Got chores done then turned my activities back to working on the packing upstairs. Got the rest of the pictures packed and need to finish packing a few more fragile memorabilia then that phase will be done. Have a painter coming in about an hour to give me a cost about painting the upstairs and the walls down the basement steps.

Yesterday's dental work was long and tiring. I have a temporary crown on my tooth and will get the permanent one put on Thursday, 3/8. I was glad to get back to the house after spending 2 hours in a dentist's chair.

So they have started to "cross training" us on other things at work. I'm pretty sure the state of GA does not know it and I have a feeling their deal (with what is ADP's biggest client) stipulated that X amount direct hires are to take only those calls. Should be interesting to see what happens.
