Had an appointment this morning with the pain specialist. When I left the house my precious Noah was still tucked under blankets. When I got home as I was changing into my stay at home clothes my precious boy emerged from the blankets to greet me and start the day. White Cat was my only “customer” again this morning. I actually heard her before I saw her – she was hiding in the bushes partway up the hill. It was nice of her to acknowledge me. I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t call out to just anybody like that.

Tang was in good spirits this morning – especially since we had over ½ an hour of snuggle time during which I was treated to full on hair grooming More on how he is doing when I get home.

The first tart reply that came to mind yesterday to that lead was “You were doing call monitors? Really? That sounds like actual work, and we both know you’re allergic to that” But I didn’t. The thing is, if they really wanted rid of me they could do that on attendance alone. But that’s not misconduct and they would have to pay the UE claim. They would “save” on the bonus though. But I guess they are not that bright. Or they want the double whammy of no bonus and no UE. So, stupid or mean spirited. Again – Glad when this ride is over.

So now I am just counting down my time until this workday (Hump Day – YAY) is over. Then I can turn my thoughts toward getting home to my precious boy. I hope today is being kind to you and Noah and that you both have a most pleasant evening. TTFN

My volunteer will be here in about 45 minutes to help with a couple of things so I will need to get Noah his lunch before she comes.

Once again, White Cat was the only waif present this morning for provisioning. She called out as usual, but wasn’t hiding this time. You’re right that I am blessed to have her trust and that of the others. I just wish I could do more for them. At least they have had the blessing of a fairly mild winter so far.

Tang was in good spirits this morning and we managed about 30 minutes of snuggle time again. Even so, he was none too pleased when I had to go; very “vocal”. More on how he’s doing when I get home.

At work I have discovered earlier today that I was removed from the main tech support work group. This has left me with Discover authorizations and the various specialty queues. My volume has been low (knock wood) and the calls I do get are fairly easy. I don’t know if it was a mistake, but I’ll take the “break” any day.

This morning I had an appointment with the pain management specialist. She is noticing an improvement in less swelling in my neck vertebrae so apparently the ice packs are working. This morning my waif attendance was zero. Well, that’s not exactly true. Coming around front from putting the food at the new 3rd spot, I saw an orange tabby sitting on the mat by the office looking longingly up at the door. This would indicate to me he knows what a door is for (i.e. he was an inside kitty that got dumped) Unfortunately I spooked him when I tried to greet him. I hope he was able to avail himself of some of the food as he looked kind of skinny. He and Tang could almost be brothers they look so much alike. This made me especially sad for him

Speaking of Tang, he was in good spirits as we rolled into the last day of the week with ½ an hour of snuggle time. I’m never able to get my hair quite right afterward, but it’s worth it More on how he’s doing when I get home.

I’m still not in the main tech queue at work today and I couldn’t be happier about it. It does not, however, stop VXI from direct transferring me calls though. One of these days I might try to find out why our management is so scared of them – but I already have my theories

Hello moon_beam. Sunny but cold Caturday greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope this finds you both doing well.

I saw no waifs while provisioning early this morning. But the food seems to be getting eaten. That is what concerns me in a way though. Today and last week (and other times) as early as my return from the store the food in both places on the fence is gone. I mean down to the last kibble. Not a single trace of food ever having been there. The waifs are never that thorough, and I have not seen a raccoon or possum in ages. I'm wondering if some hater is waiting for me to leave and then scooping it all up and throwing it away. It would explain White Cat's boldness to come out and eat when she sees me. I'm going to have to check that out tomorrow morning since I have nowhere I have to be.


I had the laundry room to myself for the duration which is nice though. I only had to go to Save a Lot so I was home a little after 9:00. I had some breakfast but Tang didn't seem to like the meat I picked out this time. The rest of the day has been spent reading, watching TV and napping with my precious boy.

He's doing well and had his supper. In a little bit I will give him his insulin before we both settled in for the evening. I hope today has been kind to you and Noah and that you both have a most pleasant evening. TTFN

Had my doctor's appointment this morning and all seems to be going well. I am able to better tolerate the doctor working with my right hand which has been very painful and numb. The feeling is coming back into my right hand now although it is still painful to use sometimes. I imagine it will take time for me to get full use of my right hand back without it being uncomfortable for me to use it but now I know this is eventually possible. On my way home I had to stop to get gas in the car. I was able to get the gas cap off using my right hand which is something I would not have been able to do even a week ago, so I'm already seeing definite improvement.

My precious Noah was still tucked snuggly under blankets when I left for my appointment. When I got home he emerged from his peaceful slumbers to greet me and start the day. He is enjoying the warmth of his personal space heater as I'm writing to you.

Feeling better (well, good enough to come to work) this morning. Thanks for the well wishes. I saw both Siamese and White Cat along the fence in their respective spots this morning. I saw Tux Sr and Bobtail when I was coming up the hill to the 3rd spot. It was short lived though as a “busy body” was (I presume) walking to her car to go to work by the mailboxes. Heading back out to my bus I saw that the food was all gone again in the 2nd spot and what may have been a raccoon skittering under the fence. I’m glad I started feeding in the 3rd spot now as I doubt any “wildlife” will ever come up on the property that far.

Tang was in good spirits this morning although he had a bit of an upset tummy (threw up after breakfast) I keep telling him not to inhale his food and chew as best he can (sigh) But it’s not easy without his canines I guess. Bless his heart. More on how he’s doing when I get home.

It’s another day for me not being in the “main” tech queue and this can continue to my last day as far as I’m concerned. I don’t know if this is an oversight. And if it’s not, are they trying to keep me out of trouble or just the opposite? Perhaps it would best if I not think about it too much.

I fix a water jar for Noah's water and put some ice in it to keep it fresh in the fridge until I give him a bowl of fresh water. This morning at around 6:30 a.m. the ice dispenser would not work - - very frustrating - - as it worked just fine last night. Sometimes a layer of ice cubes forms a dam preventing the ice dispenser from working, and the only way to free the dispenser is to take it out of the freezer and chop up the ice with a sharp knife. I couldn't get the dispenser out the freezer no matter how hard I tried, which added to the aggravation. I finally gave up and went back to bed to have a snuggle with my precious Noah. When I left for my MD appointment this morning my precious Noah was still snuggled deeply under blankets. When I got back home he was up and greeting me as I came down to the basement living quarters. After I got changed into my stay at home clothes I tried again to get the dispenser out of the freezer, and this time I was able to do it, chopped out the ice dam, and got the dispenser back into the freezer. So I guess I'll see this evening if the ice dispenser is working properly again when I fill his water jar. I am so not in the mood to have to deal with these types of "technical difficulties".

This morning while provisioning I saw Siamese at the first spot. No White cat at the 2nd, but Tux Sr, Bobtail, and Little Gray were congregated in front of the gym by the 3rd spot. As I looked over my shoulder, Little Gray went to the food immediately but paused when Bobtail came over. I left to let them work it out. I'm trusting Bobtail to be fair and just.

Hello moon_beam. Mostly sunny but cold greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope this finds you both doing well. I'm glad to hear your ice maker is working properly again. I hope all goes well with what ever your volunteer is coming to help with today too.

Given the return of winter like temperatures and some rain last night, it's understandable I think that I saw no waifs in the usual areas along the fence. When I got to the new spot by the pool and gym though, I saw Bobtail and White Cat (although as usual I heard her first) Bobtail was content to let her eat first though. So I guess White Cat has a higher status than Little Gray in the tribe's hierarchy.

Tang was in pretty good spirits this morning as we shared about 30 minutes of snuggle time on the bed. I really need to get him to the vet for a checkup when it's financially feasible though. He seems to not like me touching him around the base of the tail. I've read it can be anything from skin sensitivity (no fleas though, I checked) to a kind of arthritis between the spine and the base of the tail. His movements (walking even running, etc) are normal though. No excessive grooming either. More on how he's doing when I get home.

Still running on just the specialty queues today and just Discover authorization calls up until a little while ago when US Treasury gave me a couple of calls. I'm liking this but I'd really like my letter to get an idea of the actual time frame.

Tang was in good spirits this morning as we had a 3rd day in a row of about 30 minutes of snuggles – he left briefly but came back and made sure my hair was properly “brushed” Thank you for the well wishes on his health. My precious boy and I enjoyed a nice snuggle under blankets this morning, and I managed to start the day without disturbing his sweet slumbers. Had a few things to tend to on the big desk top computer, and about 11 a.m. my precious boy roused to start the day and to join me at the big computer. I managed to change the blankets on the bed and get the morning dishes done. My precious boy and I are now enjoying a rest together as I'm writing to you.

Hello moon_beam. Unseasonably warm (62) and sometimes rainy Caturday greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope this finds you both doing well.

Even though I was back in the main queue, I didn't get that many more calls. And I still trended toward getting calls first from the others first. So either we weren't that busy (which I tend to doubt) or they set my priority in the main queue fairly low (which seems more likely) Even if I get my letter next week, that puts me there until mid April (sigh) But they have to be out by the end of April as the lease is up. And I read a news story about the company that's taking the spot at that time.

What a difference a day makes in waif land. This morning I saw Tux Jr (yes Tux Jr) after being gone, what 2 months at least? He looked good too and was very friendly. Then as I got closer to the 2nd spot I saw/heard White Cat calling out and coming my way. By the time I started up the hill to the 3rd spot I saw Little Gray. When I came back with my laundry I saw Bobtail and Tux Sr making their way across the parking lot.

I had the room to myself for the duration which was nice. I only had to go to Save a Lot and I didn't need much, so I was home a little before 9:00 which was also nice. At that time I saw that orange tabby again too. I was able to make him stop for a moment by softly calling out to him. I hope he managed to get some of the food as he looks kind of skinny

The rest of the day it's just been Tang and me crashed on the couch watching TV, reading and napping of course. Since the rain stopped and it's fairly warm, he got some balcony time today. He's just had his supper and is doing well.

Needed to make a trek to the mailbox this morning to get the mail delivered since late last Thursday, 2/9, as I had ordered a couple of things that were delivered on Friday via USPS. I thought about waiting until tomorrow to stop off at the mailbox after I get home from my MD appointment, but the wind was forecasted to become quite gusty again later this morning lasting through tomorrow afternoon, and I didn't want to have to battle the wind getting the package and mail from the mailbox. As it turned out my decision has been one of the wiser ones I've made as the wind is now howling again outside as forecasted as I'm writing to you.

Not much else going on around the homestead at the moment. My precious Noah is doing well. He is settled comfortably next to me keeping me company as I'm writing to you.

Funny you should ask about the orange tabby. We had a bit of an "incident" this morning. As I set the food down at the 1st spot, Tux Jr bounded over to eat right away. The second he did that, however, is the exact moment the orange tabby decided to stick his out out from the hole under the fence. It was almost comical in that I think they scared each other. I saw Little Gray by the 2nd spot, but nobody in the 3rd. I made may way back on back path to check on Tux Jr and Orange Tabby only to find Tux Jr by a car. He nuzzled my hand and darted of as if in search of something. I'm thinking Orange Tabby. He (Orange Tabby) could not have picked a better waif to have a first close encounter with I think. Hopefully Tux Jr will show him the ropes. Perhaps that's even why he showed up again out of the blue? I sense the paws of Angels Tom and Theresa at work

The rest of the day has been the usual lazy Sunday with my boy Tang. We shared some breakfast and had snuggles and naps. He's by my feet now as I post this. He has had some balcony time and seems to be doing well.

Unfortunately somehow I managed to disturb him so that he emerged from blankets to look around as if to say, "hey, what's the deal?" I apologized for disturbing him, and he settled back down so that I could cover him up with blankets again. He was snuggled under blankets when I left, and was still enjoying sweet slumbers when I got back home. Fortunately I was able to change into my stay at home clothes and work on some quiet type projects until he emerged from blankets around 12 Noon to greet me and start the day. He is settled comfortably in front of his personal space heater as I'm writing to you. Have a load of laundry in the washing machine which will soon be ready to go into the dryer.

Hi Tracy,

Happy Caturday to you and Lt. Tang! I hope you both are doing well. I thought I had better say "hi" once in a while, although I do read when I have the chance. We are doing pretty well, just the usual health issues. I had to get a cortisone shot for the old arthritis in my right leg and knee. My hubby has to have cataract surgery next month.

I'm enjoying this spring like weather, but you know Ky, it might snow in July.

Socks still comes by every day to eat. I don't see white bobtail any more, but he might come by. We still have the mouse that comes out at night. I put a piece of a cookie out on the kitchen floor at night, no sense in putting it in the trap. I'll have to get a different kind of live trap.

It's hard to believe but our little angel Mickey has been gone 6 years the 22nd of this month. I still get tears at times and get that empty feeling in my stomach.

There were more waifs out and about this morning. I saw (and heard) White Cat at the 3rd feeding spot, Little Gray, Bobtail and Tux Sr when I stepped out from putting my clothes in the dryer and Tux Jr as I was heading out to run my errands.

There was a lot on the errand agenda today after laundry: I took the bus to the Outer Loop shopping center to first get my hair cut (good timing as a whole bunch of people came in behind me) the Kroger for groceries, then CVS for my RX, then the library and home. I expected to get home around 11:30 as I missed the 10:24 bus - or so I thought. It must have been late because I saw saw a bus at about 10:40. So that must have been it unless the other bus was about 15 minutes early, which I doubt. I got home at about 11:15.

It wasn't raining at the time and was still fairly warm, so I let Tang have balcony time while I put the groceries away. He and I have had a pretty lazy day together since then. And we have 2 more coming up.

He's had his supper and even though I noticed it was sprinkling out, he insisted on going on the balcony. He darted back in and glared at me me. Hey, I warned him Otherwise he is well.

I'm glad to hear Socks still comes by to visit, but sorry you haven't seen White Bobtail or the others in a while. But have faith. As you may know from my posts here, the Tux boys will disappear for weeks or even a couple months then show up looking fine as if nothing happened. I hope you can find a humane way of letting Mr. Mouse know he needs to go outside.

I know how you feel about approaching the 6 year mark for Mickey; I just passed that marker in December for Tom. I know they are taking care of each other at the Bridge and smiling down on us.

I had a couple waifs in attendance for provisioning this morning. I saw Siamese skulking behind me as I went to put the food at the 1st post. As I walked down toward the 2nd post Little Gray met me 1/2 way down the path (stopping to roll form time to time - as if saying "YAY FOOD MAN!") until I put the food down there. I din't see any of the others at the 3rd post, but I'm sure they were around to eat that food.

It's been a pretty lazy day for me and the Tang man. Resting, reading, TV and cuddles on the couch and the bed alternatively. Nothing like the sound of a healthy purr motor to ease one's mind and tensions Plus, we get to do it all again tomorrow - with pay.

He's had his supper and some balcony time (no sprinkles this time) and after this I will give him his insulin and settle in for the evening.

I'm so glad you and your precious Tang had a good day yesterday keeping each other company. I totally agree with you about purrs easing the mind and tensions. And I'm also glad your precious boy was able to get some balcony time yesterday evening.

When I got home from my MD appointment I found the lawn maintenance contractor here working on the yard. Since he arrived before I got home I found my precious Noah quite relieved to see me when I got inside the house. The contractor aerated the ground and applied both grass seed and fertilizer so hopefully something other than moss will take sprout particularly in the back yard.

Sounds like you had a good gathering of the community waifs yesterday during your provisioning and hope you were able to see some of them this morning as well.

Hello moon_beam. Sunny and very pleasant greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope this finds you both doing well. I'm glad to hear your lawn contractor was on top of things, but sorry that it disturbed your little man.

This morning the fog was as thick as pea soup; it was really eerie. I didn't see any waifs along the path and not sure I would have had they been there because of the fog. I did end up scaring poor Orange Tabby who was sitting on the mat in front of the office though; poor thing still looks on the skinny side. Since it was so early (around 4ish AM) I went back to my apartment and "reloaded" on food to make sure everybody would get some - at least I hope so.

The rest of the day has felt like a Sunday, especially since it's back to the salt mines tomorrow (sigh) Tang has been by my side constantly though. Right now with sun, breeze and 70 degrees he's having balcony time. At least until I get up from here to do something. Then he follows me. Whoever said cats aren't loyal never knew my special boy. Perhaps he wants to reassure me he won't be doing anymore "flying"

Needed to work on scheduling payments this morning while my precious Noah enjoyed sweet dreams under blankets. Also needed to order a few things from Wal Mart and Amazon so got those orders placed as well. My precious boy joined me at the big computer desk around 10:30 a.m. to greet me and start the day. When I got done on the computer I took the trash up to the trash bin. So now I can settle down and rest a bit before getting my precious Noah his lunch.

This morning’s provisioning brought me Siamese at the 1st post and Little Gray at the 3rd. I have not seen Tux Jr in a couple of days and that makes me wonder if that’s why I saw Orange Tabby huddled at the office door the other day. I hope they are both doing OK

Tang was in good spirits this morning. We had about 20 minutes of snuggle time leaving me about an extra 10 minutes to do a few things online. More on how he’s doing when I get home.

Another lovely day in paradise (not) We received our official 60 day notice today - well more like 70. It's 05/01/2017. So, 2 months and change I will be stuck here (sigh) I am counting down my time until the end of yet another workday. Then I can think about getting home to my precious boy.

Got a call late yesterday afternoon letting me know that my MD appointment for today was being canceled, and that my appointment for Friday would be with the other MD in the practice. The only explanation offered was that my MD has some urgent personal business. She is in the early stages of having a baby in June, and I'm hoping she is not having complications. So this morning I finished working on getting payments scheduled and checks written for March payments while my precious Noah enjoyed sweet dreams under blankets. Also finished organizing tax information which is now ready to be filed in storage. My precious boy emerged from blankets a little after 11 a.m. to come greet me at the desk and start the day. He is settled comfortably next to me keeping me company as I'm writing to you.

This morning while out provisioning I saw Siamese and who I thought was Orange Tabby, but it was a different orange and white waif I have not seen in a while. When I was leaving to go to my bus stop I happened to look up and saw White Cat perched atop the fence. I’ve never seen her do that before Perhaps she learned that trick from one of the others.

Tang was in good spirits this morning and I was able to give him the full 30 minutes of snuggle time before finishing getting ready for work. More on how he’s doing when I get home.

Yes, the final date is now known. And it can’t come soon enough. Now I can start weeding through some of the calls and emails to see if there is anything worthwhile. But after 15 plus years of call center I am not just looking for something different, but also so some time off. I know that may sound selfish, but I am physically, mentally and emotionally sick of it (literally sometimes evidently) Plus I REALLY want that severance and bonus. I will keep you posted as to how it goes.

Thank you so much for your continued thoughts, prayers, and encouragement with my current challenges. I will let you know how treatment progesses when there is something noteworthy to mention. Right now things are "holding their own" requiring daily doses of generic tylenol. I am hoping that someday this will not be necessary on a regular basis.

The day started off quite foggy this morning but sunbeams have finally broken through the mist and are shining bright and cheery in through the big door windows, much to my precious Noah's and my delight. Had a few financial things to take care of on the big desk top and was able to finish working on my sister-in-law's birthday card while my precious boy enjoyed his snuggles under blankets. He finally roused for the day about 11:15 a.m. and joined me at the big computer desk to greet me. He is comfortably settled next to me keeping me company as I'm writing to you. My volunteer will be here in about an hour to help me with the standard Thursday routines so will need to get my precious Noah his lunch earlier this afternoon.

This morning while provisioning I saw Siamese and that big orange and white cat at the 1st post. I saw Little Gray heading down the hill to the 2nd post as I made my way to the 3rd post. Heading out to my bus I saw Orange Tabby at the 2nd post eating. He looked scared but I tried to be non-threatening and talked in a soothing voice. He still looked scared, but he stayed to eat I’m happy to report. I saw Bobtail up on the hill “patrolling” at the same time, so I like to think he “had his back” and has accepted him into the tribe. Then again, he could just as easily have chased him away from the 3rd post Either way, I think starting that 3rd feeding post has worked out well.

Tang was in good spirits this morning and I was prepared to give him the full half an hour for snuggles, but he got restless and got down about 15 minutes in. So I did some things online before finishing getting ready for work. More on how he’s doing when I get home.

Sounds like you had a good showing of the community waifs yesterday morning during provisionings / travels. Sounds like Bobtail was on "sentry duty" yesterday morning and evening.

The mystery about my pain management MD appointments was solved today. Apparently my pain management doctor is opening up her own practice and when she informed the owner of the practice she had been working for he did not take kindly to her leaving and told her to leave the practice immediately. Hence Wednesday's canceled appointment. Today's appointment was with the owner of the practice who has basically been retired for a few years now. The owner of the practice will only have afternoon hours except on Fridays for morning appointments. Afternoons are not good for me. When I got home I called my pain management MD to ask her what is happening with her practice - - as she had scheduled me to see her at her new practice next Friday, 3/3. She explained what happened and told me she can see me on Wednesday, 3/1, at our regular morning time. Her practice will be just 5 minutes further down the road from where I have been going, so the travel time will be about the same. So I will call the practice I have been going to next week to have my records transferred so that I can stay with Dr. Severson. I hope this can be a smooth transition.

I was later getting home because of the "double booking" of appointments. When I got home my precious Noah had emerged from underneath blankets where I had left him and was stretched out on his bathroom window perch. He is now settled comfortably next to me keeping me company as I'm writing to you. I see that my order from Amazon has been delivered so will need to make a trek upstairs to retrieve it from the porch.
