Anne just texted me from work that Firstsource is closing that call center (as I predicted) in May or June. Good riddance even thought it means the old job search again (sigh)

The flooring contractor was here today and I'm waiting to hear back from him with a cost and installation date. Buster came while the contractor was here. He checked out what was going on and then - - much to surprise - - I found him snuggled down on the big sofa in the living room area taking a nap after the contractor left. I was soooo glad to see he had stayed. Later on he heard his dad doing some work outside which prompted him to go home. I was able to take their mail over when it was delivered, and Buster came home with a little mouse as a gift to his mom and dad. Bonnie heard the word "mouse" and wanted to check it out, too. She was already inside. Am getting ready to settle down for the evening, so will get this off to you.

I called CVS this morning around 9 a.m. or shortly thereafter to check to see if my prescription refill was ready. It wasn't - - even though I had called it in through the automated system on Tuesday for pick up yesterday. So I spoke with a pharmacist rep who said it would be ready this afternoon. I explained to her - - and I admit I was a bit annoyed as this is becoming a habit with this pharmacy - - that the weather is forecasted to be icy beginning this afternoon and that I would prefer to pick it up this morning if possible. So she reluctantly agreed to have it ready for me around 11 a.m.. So I went to Food Lion first to pick up some milk and other sundry items. Before I left the parking lot I called the pharmacy and was informed that my prescription was indeed ready for pick up. So now I'm home and settled with what I need with the forecast now issuing a winter weather warning for the area going through at least Friday morning. CVS sent me a survey email wanting feedback on my experience, so I included a comment about this pharmacy needing another pharmacist so that patrons can get their prescriptions when they need them and as they have pre-arranged to get their refills. I'm not expecting any improvements, but stranger things have been known to happen. The day just brightened as I just saw Buster walking through the common driveway headed straight for home. I called to him but his mind was set on getting home - - as it should be. The rest of the day will be focused on getting caught up on emails and perhaps beginning to read the book my nephew gave me for Christmas.

I had a similar issue with my BP meds last time but the assistant checked the computer and filled it while I waited. I wish your experience had been closer to that. Sorry Buster was only a walk by today, but at least he stayed with you yesterday.

Work was about average. I think everyone is about sick of it. Turns out they are closing that call center and another across town to consolidate to a new building over by where Insight Business used to be. (sigh - full circle) But it's another day over with.

Tang met us at the door upon our arrival (a tad late for Subway night) He's had his supper, shot and treats. He seems well. Looks like Butters got the can food tonight. Yesterday I forgot to scoop dry out of the bag in Anne's car before she left for work so I put 2 cans out before she got home. Dulcinea got the dregs of the can food and stood on the porch looking at me as if to say "Well, Foodman? Where are the kibbles?" Anne pulled up about that time and spooked her but she didn't go far. In any case, she got her dry food I swear, one of these days we'll leave the door ajar and one of them will just wander in.

Bonnie came by late this morning to say hi and then went back outside as the sun was shining nice and bright. Buster came and settled down in the oversized chair next to the TV table and took a nap. His mom came over with some delicious home made soup, and when he heard his mom's voice he woke up and decided it was time for him to go back home for awhile. I have occupied myself today so far by organizing the receipts for tax information and entering the bill payments into my checkbook in preparation for scheduling them online beginning next week. I am thoroughly enjoying the book my nephew gave me for Christmas - - a fictional WW II spy thriller.

Buster came this morning before the rain started to say hello but his visit was brief today. Still it was good to see him. Haven't seen Bonnie today -- she's probably snugly warm in her home with her mom and dad. Worked a bit on financials, got an order placed with WalMart for pick up on Tuesday, 1/22, which is when I wanted to pick it up. And then I did some intense research on the Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet. In my research I learned that Amazon's OS is equivalent to Android's OS but does not offer access through Amazon's app store for the Google Play apps - - but which can be downloaded separately. So I found a website giving step by step instructions on how to do that. One place I saw that one needs a Google account to download and use the Google apps before downloading the Google Play apps - - but in my research for this I have become quite confused - - would I need a Google account or a Google Apps account? And are these accounts free? I really am not technology minded, as you can tell. My lunch will be ready soon so will get this off to you.

Hello moon_beam. Rainy and cool (38) greetings to you. I hope this finds you well. Glad to hear Buster came over even if it was brief. When you go to Walmart check out the RCA Voyager tablet. I bought that one for 50.00, but I see they have them for 40.00 now. I've been pretty satisfied with and it has a memory extension port. I can ask Anne where she got that chip for me cheap. It comes pre-loaded with Android OS and several free Google apps. Yes, a Google account and most of the apps are free.

We didn't do much today but do various grocery shopping at Kroger and Walmart (got more insulin and syringes while there) and will need to do some more tomorrow. Tang is well and has had his supper. I will give him his shot and treats later. Butters or Tweak must have been hiding under Anne's car when I put out the food as that's where he immediately appeared from when I did

We went to do the rest of our shopping at Kroger only to find they were completely cleaned out of eggs except the expensive "organic" kind. Only one boil in bag unit of the gravy too for the biscuits (cleaned out on those too - we needed 2) I would have said panic shopping except the milk and bread were fairly well stocked. We got some Bob Evans breakfast burritos instead. But we were able to find pretty much everything else for dinners this week.

Other than that, it's been a pretty low key winter day. Tang is well. I just gave him a brushing and he loved that. I will give him supper, shot and treats after while as well as put out waif food.

Have been doing some more research on Android devices - - specifically what programs will interface with them. According to the live chat rep about my internet security program I would need to get a different antivirus program as the one I have for my desk top and lap top will not work on an Android or other mobile type device. Also Thunderbird does not offer any type of interface with mobile devices, so I emailed my internet service provider asking if I would be able to access my email with an Android device. Am waiting for a response from them. I know it may be stupid question but I've learned to take nothing for granted. Buster did come by to say hello but didn't stay long. Still it was nice that he came for a brief visit.

All you need to for your tablet to connect to your home internet is WIFI and most ISP providers offer that. In fact, the RCA is WIFI only, it doesn't have a SIM.

Work was not bust for a Monday. I guess it was the holiday and perhaps being Medicare, the members just assumed we were closed. So much the better, but I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.

Tang met us at the door when we got home. He's had his supper, shot and treats and seems to be doing well. Butters was first up at the can food and Tweak came to watch his back while he ate before having his fill of the dry which I though was sweet.

Today has been concentrated on financials. Prudential strikes again - - the 1099 form they sent me had no identification on it - - not my name, not Prudential's name as the payor, no policy account number, etc. So I called Prudential this morning and I'm supposed to get a corrected 1099 form sometime in the next few days. Honestly, I will be soooo glad when my contact with Prudential is truly over with. Haven't seen Bonnie or Buster today, but with the weather they may be tucked snug and warm in their home. I did see Buster yesterday evening when I went out to get the mail - - he came scampering up to me wanting me to pet him - - which, naturally, I did. Have my lunch cooking and am looking forward to having it when it's ready.

Today was not bad until about 7:30 when the NY agents I guess decided they weren't taking medicare calls anymore and just 3 of us there. I didn't get off my last call until 8:04 and Anne 8:10 which is why this post will be somewhat brief. May not be able to post at all tomorrow as we need to do a grocery run.

Tang met us at the door when we got home and has had his shot, supper and treats. He seems to be doing well as he nuzzled my leg and sat down by his toys We spooked Dulcinea pulling up but she came back. She didn't seem to realize she was first for the can food and started eating the dry until she figured it out. Anne said Fluffy came by to polish off most of the rest of the dry. I put 2nd round of both out.

Bonnie's and Buster's mom and dad are on their way to NJ to celebrate their granddaughter's 18th birthday. Their eldest daughter will be arriving here sometime this evening between 6 and 7 p.m. to stay the weekend to take care of the fur tribe: Bonnie, Buster, Buddy, and Gabby. But until she arrives I am their nanny. Went over around 12:30 p.m. to let Buddy have some outside time, and of course Bonnie and Buster wanted outside but they didn't want to stay outside for long - - for which I'm very thankful for. Took my book with me to read and finally made it through an exceptionally long chapter that has taken me about 4 days to get through. Worked on my tax information this morning, and as near as I can tell from my preliminary figures and the information I printed off from the tax websites I do not have to file IRS or VA State tax forms this year. I will re-read the filing instructions and go over the figures again just to make sure. I have my lunch on the stove cooking and it should be ready soon.

Slept in late this morning as yesterday was an early rise day for me for no particular reason - - couldn't get back to sleep after I woke up around 6:30 a.m.. But since today started have been working on financials - - scheduling online payments, printing off receipts, and working more on reviewing my tax information. I finally received the correct 1099 form from Prudential for my life insurance policy payment, so now I can relax knowing I won't have anything more to do with that company. Haven't seen Bonnie or Buster yet today but may see them later. My lunch is almost ready so will get this off to you.

Work was not bad with about 25 calls give or take. We did get our errands ran last night and did another load of laundry. So, hopefully we are ready for next few days.

Tang met us at the door when we got home as usual. He's had his supper, shot and treats and seems to be doing well. With Fluffy joining the ranks I put the head count at about 5 or 6. So I'm doubling the portions going forward. But I'll put the can food out in 2 rounds as doing it all at once last night didn't turn out so well

Am glad to share your news that yesterday was a decent day for you and Anne at work, and hope today is the same. Sounds like giving two separate servings for the waifs is a good idea since the ranks are increasing at your doorstep. I know they appreciate your and Anne's kindness and dedication.

It's been a quiet day here. Buster came by twice around 5:30 p.m. yesterday evening. I think he was trying to tell me that he wanted inside his home, but his Aunt wasn't answering the door. I hope he was finally able to get her attention. He came by today and settled down on the short sofa in the living room space to take a nap, but he left about a half hour ago heading back to his home. I will be so glad when his mom and dad get back home later today because I know for sure that this evening he will be inside nice and warm with his family. Finished reading the book my nephew gave me for Christmas, and have a library book that I will begin reading in the next day or so. The kitchen timer is letting me know my lunch is now ready so will get this off to you.

Work was even slower today. I took 7 calls and Anne took 8. Maybe 2 of mine were even actual medicare. The others were misdirects for areas not open on the weekends. Leaving work this evening we discovered that the swarm of birds on the tree above her car did an epic poop job. Then going to the Kroger to get gas her other headlight was out (she just replaced the first one) Then came home to discover her laptop charger has gone bad. I feel so bad for her right now

Tang met us at the door which is always nice. He's had his supper, shot and treats. He's chilled here in the living room and seems to be doing well. The first can of food outside has been eaten and I put out another as well as some more dry food. Have not seen any of them though.

Sounds like yesterday was definitely not Anne's day. Hopefully she'll be able to get her car to the car wash soon and get the headlight replaced. The woman who helped me for the last 2 years in my beautiful home came to visit today. We had lunch delivered from Domino's - - did a really good job delivering it while it was still piping warm from the oven. After she left I got caught up on checking emails and printing off tax information from the credit union. Bonnie came by for a brief visit this morning while I was vacuuming. She didn't want to stick around for that so she left. Was able to have a brief visit with her mom about an hour ago, so I saw both Bonnie and Buster tucked warmly into their home. Now I have some kitchen chores to do before I can settle down for the evening so I guess I best be getting on with it.

Today was not bad for a Monday. Steady but not back to back. One more day before we are off for 2. Anne was able to get a new charger online and it should be here Wednesday. Also since it rained some today, the "dirt" was loosened enough on her car that the 3.00 auto wash on the way home from work was sufficient.

Tang met us at the door when we got home. He's has his supper, shot and treats. He seems well. The dry and wet food appears to have been eaten some outside but I have not seen any of the waifs tonight.

I think I finally have both the IRS and State tax forms figured out. I tell you it doesn't take much to confuse the heck out of me. The bottom line is that I definitely will not have to file any tax forms this year. YEA!!!! Have gotten things in the guest bathroom organized for the flooring contractor tomorrow, and all I need to do is finish up getting the kitchen set up this evening and my bathroom emptied out tomorrow morning so that the contractor doesn't have to wait for me to do it - - or worse yet - - the contractor taking on that role. I'll be so glad when they're finished tomorrow - - just don't like chaos. Buster came by to visit for awhile today. He is such a good fella - - I do enjoy his visits. His mom came to visit for a few minutes and let me know that Bonnie is tucked warmly inside her home. When she left Buster was ready to leave, too, so she picked him up and took him inside, too. It's just too cold outside for precious companions.

Sorry I didn't post last night. With a hard freeze and wither advisory predicted for today (which we got) we decided to hit Walmart on the way home just in case.

So, today we went nowhere. Just stayed home, had a late breakfast and chilled in front of the the TV. Tang was quite happy with that arrangement too. He's had his supper and soon will get his shot and treats. He seems to be doing well. When I went to put food out for the waifs, I spooked Butters but he promptly came back.

Am glad you and Anne had wonderful family time with your precious Tang yesterday. I can see him with a big smile on his face.

The carpet tile installation went well and is already a huge improvement. The crew arrived around 10 a.m. and left around 2 p.m.. Except for a 15 minute break they worked continuously and diligently. They asked to play music - - 70's rock - - which they said helped them to focus. The choice of music was a bit annoying to me but it helped them keep a rhythm with their work so I wasn't about to say "no." I focused on reading a book which helped me to block out the music. The only door that needed adjusting to accommodate the carpet tile was the one to the guest bathroom which they quickly did and rehung - - which works very well now. So I'm very satisfied - - it was worth the additional financial investment. Buster's and Bonnie's mom and dad are shopping. Their mom stopped by to see if I needed anything before they left and asked me to make sure the contractor checks his truck for Buster before they leave, as Buster likes to "investigate" things. Bonnie was safely inside her home, so Buster was the only one to be concerned about. So as the crew was packing up their truck to leave I requested that they take a close look inside to make sure there weren't any stowaways. They didn't find anyone, so I'm hoping Buster is out and about visiting.

Before the crew arrived I was able to get some work done on financials. And now my lunch is almost ready so will get this off to you.

We awoke early as the maintenance man came to unfreeze the kitchen hot water pipe. I'd been leaving it trickle but must have forgotten last night. We then went to Petco to visit the adoptable kitties (I like that they have the holes in the plexiglass to touch them) while waiting for Jason's Deli to open at 10:00. We then had the salad bar. From there we went next door to Half Price Books where we each found 3 books. Mine were all on the 1.00 shelf. From there we went to Aldi to get Halo oranges for Anne and honey crisp apples for me to pack in our lunches. One more day to work then off the weekend. The rest of the day has been spent relaxing with Tang.

Speaking of whom, he's had his supper and will get his shot and treats later. He seems well. I haven't put the food out for the waifs either but will soon.

I read some sad news online today. The lioness at the zoo we always enjoyed seeing has passed away at 22 They had to make the difficult decision due to her ongoing decline and not responding therapy. She will be missed.

Tang seems to be doing well. I'm getting ready to give him his supper, shot and treats at some point. Then I will provision the waifs.

I share your and Anne's sorrow about the passing of the lioness. Still, I am grateful her caretakers put her needs first rather than have her endure a steady, painful decline just to keep the public satisfied. I know her passing changes the atmosphere and environment of the zoo because of her physical absence, but her Living Spirit continues to be there.

I did see Bonnie and Buster yesterday evening. They were here "hunting" a field mouse that has had to find new living quarters because of the ongoing construction for new condo units across the road. They found the mouse hiding around my heat pump and were finally able to rout it out. They proceeded to play a game of chase in the common driveway, but much to my pleasant surprise they weren't cruel to the little mouse - - they just chased one another around the driveway, and were well into their game when I came back inside. I don't know if Bonnie or Buster eventually cornered the little thing to have as a snack - - and I really don't want to know. But it was fun seeing the mouse and two kitties having fun actually playing with one another for awhile. Buster came by for a brief visit early this afternoon. Don't know where he is now but I imagine he's enjoying this preview to spring day somewhere.

Much of today was spent pulling together a grocery order for Kroger and getting that placed for pick up tomorrow. After I had my lunch I took a walk down the road across the road from my unit until I got to the gravel part and then turned around. Gravel is not safe for me to walk on. I'm hoping at some point in time that part of road will eventually be asphalt, but that is probably at some point in the far future. Saw both Bonnie and Buster this afternoon - - they are doing well and thoroughly enjoying the very pleasant weather.

Call volume was not bad as Mondays go. But a certain manger messed us over again. She scheduled me to work Saturday and Anne to work Sunday (not together) One other co-worker is is working both days effectively making it impossible to switch with anyone and still have that following Tuesday off together. She clearly planned that one out

But we're home now. Tang has had his supper, shot and treats and seems to be doing well. I don't know who got the first round of can foo, but as I went to put out the 2nd I startled Dulcinea but she came right back. Last night after she had finished eating she hung out on the porch for an after dinner bath. Guess she feels safe there

On a brighter side, I'm glad Dulcinea is gradually becoming more relaxed with you and Anne. It's so good to know she felt comfortable taking time to enjoy an after meal grooming yesterday evening. This is a testimony to your and Anne's diligent care for her and the other waifs.

It's been a busy day here. Left a little after 10 a.m. to go to rheumatologist's office for routine blood tests. Got to the Kroger at the assigned time to pick up my grocery order. Needed to make a quick stop at Food Lion to get some things that Kroger didn't have and doesn't carry, then a stop at the post office to mail the balance due for the installation of the carpet tiles. It was 2 p.m. by the time I got home and then had a half hour's job of putting groceries away. After I got that chore done I was really tired, so I placed a delivery order with Domino's Pizza and the sandwich and salad hit the spot. Now it's time to start settling down for the evening. I have seen Bonnie and Buster today - - in fact Bonnie is here with me now. She's settled down on the table in front of the big window in the guest bedroom.

Call volume wasn't bad today which was a good thing. Anne started coughing really bad and I pretty much had to make her leave at 5:00 to go to the Walmart clinic nearby. Good thing too because she has a upper resp and ear infection She got antibiotics and other RX meds for it though.

Tang met us at the door when we got home and Anne said she spied Butters on the front porch. Pretty sure he got the first round of canned food before I put out some more. Tang has had his supper, shot and treats and is also doing well.

The contractor was here a couple of hours ago to install the new blind on the window in the dining area. Because of the cloudy rainy weather today it's hard to tell if it's going to be any better than the blind that was there before, but it's there now and this will be the last attempt to do anything about the window. Have had my lunch - - a simple bowl of soap and crackers today. Tomorrow I have my infusion so don't know if I'll be online at all tomorrow. Just wanted to give you "heads up".

Yesterday was a long and tiring day, but the nurse only had to stab me once to get the IV started, so that was very helpful. Today has been a low key one. Have been re-organizing my grocery list to make it easier for me to order things online. I initially had it in the order of items as they were stocked by aisle in the store, but now it's more in line with ordering on the Kroger website. Both Bonnie and Buster came to visit today. Neither of them stayed long, but it was nice for them to stop by to say hello. Now I need to get busy washing lunch dishes, etc., so will get this off to you.

We went back to work today and both got Kroger gift cards for attendance but Anne got written up for attendance But that manager has her day coming. The guy that was on our shift that gave me the rides finally had enough after hearing her call him a nasty name behind his back got his old job at Lowe's back with a raise. He left his 2 week letter on the HR manager's desk and will have a sit down with him, the new ops manager and the twit herself Monday. Fly on the all in that meeting and all. Plus that same ops manger sent out a survey asking how to keep so many people from quitting. None of us were kind and that manager got reamed from us all comparing notes.

Tang met us at the door. He's had his supper, shot and treats and seems to be doing OK. He did throw up but seems better now. Dulcinea was first at the food tonight and I have already topped off the dry and put the 2nd round of wet food.

I'm so very sorry that Anne was "reprimanded" for being out of work due to illness. That is sooooo unfair. How nice that the employee was able to get his previous job back with a raise at Lowes. I hope management gets the hint about the supervisor from hell from the employee surveys and does something positive to rectify the situation. Abigail's mom and dad gave me a lovely fleece throw for Christmas with a collage of sweet kitten faces on it. It's much too nice to use and frequently wash to eventually have the faces fade, so I am using it as a wall art. This morning I put up the rod in my bedroom and hung it, and it looks so sweet. Bonnie has come by for a brief visit but Buster is out and about on his rounds. Their mom and dad are going to visit their youngest daughter and her husband in the city, so their mom asked me to give their doggy brother Buddy his dinner around 5:30 p.m. or so, and check on all the furkids to make sure each of them is okay. They'll be back home around 8 p.m.. It's always a pleasure being with their fur tribe.

I'm glad to share your news that all is okay. Believe when I say I perfectly understand how it is - - there's just so much the mind can handle with "things to do". How nice you and Anne were able to have breakfast together yesterday before she went to work, and I'm glad that you have the same days off together this week.

My brother called me last night asking me to join him and my sister in law for lunch today. We went to the nicest restaurant here in town. Turns out their son had given them a very generous gift certificate to this restaurant so the entire meal for all of us was already paid for. We had a good visit. Both Buster and Bonnie came to visit before my brother and sister in law came to pick me up. Buster was settled nicely on the smaller sofa in the living room area taking a nap when they arrived, and Bonnie had just left from a brief visit but came back when she had another car in the common driveway to inspect. So we went to lunch with Buster sleeping comfortably and Bonnie heading back home. I left the inside door open so that Buster could leave through the pet door if he wanted to before we got back, but he was still sleeping soundly when we got back until my sister in law went over to him to pet him. Shortly after that he decided it was time to go home so he left. I'm hoping to be able to pick up my prescription refills in about a half hour from now so that I won't have to go out in the drenching rain tomorrow.

Today wasn't too bad as Mondays go. Not back to back but very little time in between calls. We are off tomorrow and since we work Valentine's Day, I'm taking Anne to the new Dave and Busters that opened last week for lunch and games. Then I'm going to try to find her a hard copy of the the Passage by Justin Cronin. Fox adapted the trilogy into a TV show and we've liked it. I read the books a while back.

Tang met us at the door when we got home as usual. He's had his supper and shot and about to get his treats. He seems well. I put food out for the waifs, but haven't seen any so far.
