Dear Furry,
After 21 months I still miss you so much, you are the first thought I have when I wake & the last when I go to sleep. It's harder as the sun comes out, as you loved so much to sit in the garden with me, now I sit by your grave.

She Is Gone

You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she lived

You can close your eyes & pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes & see all that she has left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow & live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember her & only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory & let it live on

You can cry & close your mind, be empty & turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love & go on.

Dearest Furry, I am trying, but it's still so hard without you.
Sweet dreams, my best beloved.
Judith

Thank you Judith for sharing such an inspiring poem of hope and gratitude. Furry touched your life and heart in such a wonderful and lasting way. Your optimism is woven through your each and every word. Looking to a brighter side does indeed allow us another way to look at how we feel. When we allow the beautiful memories we built with our furangels to live on in our hearts, the love goes on forever.

I know what you mean about Furry being your first thought in the morning and your last thought at night. When I awaken in the morning my first thought is always Goliath, and my last thought when I go to bed is Goliath. The missing will never stop, for we know we will not be making any more new memories with them on this earth. But we can cherish all that was given to us through our love for them. I too smile that Goliath left me so much to remember. He taught me so many lessons of how to love.......and continues to do so..........even from Heaven. Goliath is the music in me and when he sings he brings sunshine to me and it radiates upon all those around me.

When two share in such a love as you and Furry had, your hearts are bound forever. Two hearts together=One big heart.
Thank you for sharing your rays of sunshine, that come from your heart where Furry is very much alive and well. wub.gif

Thank you for sharing those words. Thinking of my Little Guy, I can relate to all you said..and said so well.

They are comforting words. A combination of sadness and being positive about the future.

These babies leave us with such wonderful, warm memories and your words are a reminder of much that we think about.

Hugs to you and I wish you peace and healing. wub.gif

We will love them and miss them forever.

Thank you Goliath, & Love Them for your support .
The poem was read at a funeral I attended last week, & also at the Queen Mothers Funeral. I don't find it easy to be positive, but when I'm really missing Furry I get some comfort from it. I have to remember that she wasn't "our " cat - that she chose to come & live with us, it could so easily not have happened at all. I am so grateful that she chose me for her special bond of love, but I just can't get over having only 12 years together, it wasn't long enough. I had always wanted us to be old ladies together!

Thanks for sharing that beautiful poem with us Judith.

I think we all feel the same way. It has been 16 months since my girl has been gone and I miss her so very much.
