Oh Please, Not Again..., My Sarge kitty is very sick Options

Hello all...

Some of you might remember me... i found this wonderful place right after i lost my P-kitty a couple of years ago. The people and the warm kindness i received made the grief somewhat more bearable, and i cannot thank those people enough...

Then, my Angel-girl took ill:

And now it looks like i might lose my kitty Sarge.


For the past two weeks or so, Sarge just hasn't been himself. One day he showed up with his right eye closed. It was horrible looking, like something poked him in the eye. Over time his eye got better, but he has been going downhill. He still eats (a little) but all he does is sleep. He hasn't wanted to go outside, and now he is walking just like Angel did...slow. Oh God...please. I can't handle loosing another one.

We are taking him to the vet in the morning...but i'm so scared that what happened with Angel is going to happen to Sarge. I can't bear the thought that when i come tomorrow, he might not be with me.

I've tried to just sit with him, but everytime i look at him, i break down in tears. He's my sweetie and i can't imagine life without him.

I feel hopeless and lost and so alone. No one around me seems to understand. I'm trying so hard to remain positive, that the vet will be able to help him. But i don't want him suffer anymore. I love him too much.

I sure do remember you, from your sweet, precious P-Kitty . And, I'm sorry to hear about your Angel-girl, too!!

Gee, now your poor sweetie Sarge !!!!

How old is Sarge?? What do you think might be wrong with him? Anything to do with the previous eye injury?

I am sooooooooo very, very sorry Nyte. You have really been through much more than your share over the years!!

I know that you will and are -- but, spend today with your sweetie, and give him all the love & hugs & kisses that you can give -- and then, some more.

I remember you to be such a wonderful, loving & caring person, Nyte. And, you have a great big huge heart, too!

I feel hopeless and lost and so alone. No one around me seems to understand.

I remember all too well just how hopeless and alone I felt when we had to say good-bye to Ernie-Bird .
You and soooooo many other people from LS were there for me to see me through, so always remember that we are all here for you, Nyte.
We all understand the pain and anguish that is felt to have a sick furbaby---You are among soooo many friends here.

Please, keep in touch here during the day & night with us, okay?

What time is your appointment tomorrow with Sarge? Is anyone going with you?

You are so not alone, I can totally empathize with your sadness as I too am in a similar situation as illustrated in this thread.

Thank you Muffins and Andrea... It's nice to know i can always count on this place and the amazing people here.

Oh Andrea, I just read your post about your beautiful kitty. I'm right there with you. We will get through this, i promise. Please, feel free to PM me or Email if you need a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to listen. I'm very good at that.


And Muffins, oh wow...its so good to hear from you. You, my dear are a Godsend with a beautiful soul. To answer your questions, Sarge is only about 2 years old. He is one of Angel's kittens, and i can only guess what is wrong with him. I do have a little hope, however. He is still eating, still meowing like normal, purring, wanting to be scratched etc. The only thing different is that he sleeps constantly and never wants to go outside anymore. Plus, he feels warm to the touch...almost hot.

There are no real appointments at this vet (country vet) so i'm going to get there at 7:30am with him in hopes that we wont have to wait. I'm also hoping that i dont have to go alone...but if i have to, so be it.

Well, it looks like all that praying and wishing i did last night actually did some good! Sarge seems to be MUCH better today, moving faster, playful etc... He even went outside for a few hours.

I stayed up with him pretty much all night. Around 2am, he got out of his basket and started wandering around the house like he usually does. Getting into things, knocking stuff off of cabinets. He tried to get into a bowl of chicken soup that was soaking in the sink...a very good sign.

I got ready to take him to the vet around 6:30 and the improvement was amazing. His eyes are clear and bright again, he was begging to be let outside... So i followed him, he found his spot and even did his "i gotta go potty" meow. Then he proceeded to romp and play and even chase his brother around a little bit. He IS favoring his right front leg, so i'm guessing that is why he was so immobile. It must have hurt to walk.

So we've decided to hold off on the vet until Weds if he isn't 100% Sarge by then. But for now, it looks like he is on the road to recovery.
