Hi, Dottie, taking a breather from chores to check in and see how things are going. It is so o o o delightful being home with my Noah. I keep hearing about all these home based jobs that people can earn big bucks doing but I haven't found any of them, and the ones I do find are royal scams -- - been "burned" a couple of times trying them out. Sigh - -

Glad to be of assistance to you and Styx Kitty. I, too, hope the Nutri Cal helps him. Hope life is treating you and your fur and feathered tribe kindly. Will look forward to hearing from you and sharing your news when possible.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Hope life is treating you and all of your precious companions kindly, and will look forward to hearing from you whenever possible.

Thank you so much Jan and Moon Beam! {{{{{Hugs}}}}} Styx kitty continues to throw up, but usually not as much as before and that's probably because he's not eating as much as before. He'll eat his kibbles in the wee hours or early morning and throw that right up. So, I wait for Meals on Wheels to bring something that hopefully Styx can keep down. I save all the meat for him and just eat the rice, veggies, potatoes, salad, fruit or whatever else two cups they bring with the small main meal. He turned his nose up at real chicken the other day and I noticed that the noodles under the chicken had a bit of broth on them. So, I spooned that broth onto the chicken I had shredded and added a few shredded noodles. He ate it. Just some of it though. I saved the rest for later and offered it to him and he ate more. Thank you, God! Yes, He is indeed still smiling on this old man kitteh kat.

Today, they brought this thin sliced pork meat. At least, I think it is pork. Most people would love it, but it's really quite dry. There was some jelled "au jus" here and there, so I scraped it off, added a bit of water, warmed it up and poured it over the pork which I'd shredded in hopes he'd eat at least a few bites and he did. Saved the rest for later. Well, it got all dried up again, so I took some of those gosh awful tasting generic nacho chips and crumbled them in there with the meat since, as I said before, Styx really likes them and can have anything he wants. Wow, it worked big time. That cat scarfed down a bunch. Well, a bunch for him. But then, there's nothing to give him through the wee hours except the kibbles which he eats and throws up. Still, he's doing okay. At least, he does give appearance of being comfortable for the most part.

Styx kitty is getting thinner, back and rib bones poking out more, losing more weight, cries a lot if I don't sit or lie down with him to hold, pet, cuddle, scratch him and that sort of thing. So, I've spent the past several days off the PC and holding this kitty, petting him, kissing him, snuggling him to sleep and so on. Like you said, Moon Beam, treasuring all the time I've got left with him. He likes that and I'd best keep doing it more during the day or he'll howl and throw up. All in all, he's a sweet, precious old man kitty cat.

I haven't been able to order the Nutri-Cal Supplement yet because it would have to come in the mail and the post office has refused for almost 2 months now to deliver my mail as they have for years at the front door since I can't make it to where the boxes are located in my townhouse complex. It's a very long back and forth and catch 22 story, so I've turned it over to my brother Tony who is friends with our Congressman. Luckily, our Congressman owes Tony a few favors and he'll take care of this expeditiously.

Then, I'll be able to order that Nurti-Cal Supplement. Whew. Thank you both so much for caring, your concern, love and prayers. It means the world to Styx and me, too! You are both so o o o very special to me and my fur and feather kids!

Many Blessings and Peace to You, Your Fur Kid Angels and Fur Kids at Home!

Always, Dottie xoxoxox

Dear Dottie

Thankyou for letting us know how you and Styx Kitty are doing. I might have known there would be a posting as I woke with your name in my head. This happens so much, I sign onto Pc and forum and there you are again. Yes our Angels are busy working there caring magic for us yet again.
Dear Styx Kitty is your priority right now and just keep doing what you do so well for him. Treasure every precious moment together, that goes without saying really as I know that you will. I hope that your brother can sort out your 'mail' issues quickly. I'm sure that Styx kitty is enjoying his special food, bless him, and all the cuddles from 'Mom'.

Take care dear Dottie, and post here when you can, but not at the expense of leaving Styx for long. We all understand and I send love and prayers for you and Styx Kitty and all of your fur/feather companions. Dear Alex will be watching over you all along with all our Angels.(just as I was typing that a beautiful Dove settled on the tree outside my window smile.gif )

Hugs
Jan and my Angels and Pixie

Hi, Dottie. Thank you so much for the update, and all I can do is ditto what Jan said so o o o o very well - - don't worry about being here with us. Your focus must be on Styx Kitty right now. Please know you and your precious Styx Kitty are in my thoughts and prayers, too, and will look forward to hearing from you whenever possible.

By the way, if you some white Karo syrup you can mix that with warm water and that may help. During my Abbygayle's final days she wouldn't even take the Nutri Cal, so I went online and found the "recipe" for the glucose solution using the white Karo syrup and water. Again, don't give too much at one time because it's sugar water and can cause "the runs". Just thought I'd pass that along - - for whatever it's worth.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Thanks so much Jan and Moon Beam! {{{{{Hugs}}}}} Well, I snuck (I still don't know if 'snuck' is a word) away from sleeping Styx kitty to make another post in Alex's Festive Funeral thread in the Tribute area. Been trying to do that for days, but my feline friend starts crying, or howling, or pacing, or throwing up, or ... You two get the picture. He's getting mighty accustomed to all this attention he's getting and I do believe he's milking it for all it's worth. Good for him and bless his heart!

I had also prepared a post several days ago to put in the Animal Moments of Awww located in the Cybershoulder room so got that done, too. I'm afraid I've not been able to do much more here as of late, but am certain everyone understands. Wait. Oh crap. Oops. Please pardon my potty mouth. I keep thinking that Styx kitty has finally crossed over to The Rainbow Bridge when he's under his blanket for so very many hours without moving. So, I decided to go check now while I'm typing to you. Nope. He woke up and said, "Meow." At least it was a normal meow ...

Say, he usually gets up to pester me for attention when I check on him like that, but he went right back to sleep in the same spot under his blanket. Still, he was quite alert, relatively speaking, when I bothered him just now and he Meowed. I'm sure he's okay. He'll be giving me what for at about 10 PM or later wanting this, that and the other. I don't always know exactly what he wants so I try everything. You know: food, petting, holding, litter change, water change, yada, yada, yada. It's no hardship on me in any way. At least he makes his desires known a whole lot better than Buddy dog with that blank expression of his.

Moon Beam, I read what you said about the Karo Syrup and thought I had some, but I don't. Now, that's something I can get my neighbor Dale to pick up for me. She's a very busy, no nonsense lady who has a heart of solid gold. Don't tell her that though. She'll just shake her head and ... Yes, I'm smiling. I'll tell her, Moon Beam, and she can get some either tomorrow or Sunday morning for me. I am assuming you mean the clear Karo Syrup. Thanks, Moon Beam! And thanks, Jan!

Youze two guyze are the bestest of all the restest! Shhhh. Don't tell anyone else here at LS that I said that. K? K. wink.gif

Blessings to You Your Angels, Oslo, Abbygayle, Tasha, Noushka, Snooty, and your Fur Kids at home!!! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Always, Dottie xoxoxox

PS. Jan, sorry if I got Snooty's name wrong. I really believe it's Sooty. It is, isn't it, Jan? More Hugs to your both!!!

Oh My Gosh! Youze guyze will never guess what happened yesterday. Wonderful! smile.gif Well, Styx kitty did throw up a few times yesterday morning. When I held him, he was even thinner and had lost more weight. First thing I did after he had finished throwing up was to get one of my weekend Meals On Wheels entrees, the one with a sort of ground beef patty. Looked and was very tasty. I mashed it up and gave him some. He ate a bit then didn't want anymore no matter what I did to make it more kitty cat yummy. So, Buddy dog got to have the rest of it. That made him happy. Then, somewhere around noon, I got hold of five cans of kitty food. I think Friskies. It's dark in here now with the lights dimmed for Percy bird because he freaks if you shut or cover his cage. Hey, I'll get a flashlight. BRB. Yes, it's Friskies and the can is the size of tuna for humans. There was one salmon, three ocean whitefish and tuna, and one can of turkey and giblets. Pate form and not sliced.

Salmon! That's almost as strong smelling and tasting as mackerel, so I chose that one first. Put a dab on his plate sitting by me on the sofa and that cat acted like he'd been starved with no food at all for ... Anyway, he began gobbling that stuff down like crazy! So, I kept adding more to his plate. Surely, a half a can would do. But, within fifteen to twenty minutes, that cat was howling up a storm while sitting at his plate. So, I gave him another fourth of the salmon. Youze guyze would have thought I was starving that cat for weeks or month the way he was eating, so I gave Styx the rest of the can right then and there. He scarfed it all down and ... That fur kid wanted more! Oh My Gosh! All righty then. I opened a can of the whitefish with tuna and he ate a little over half a can. Word!

As the day went on, he only threw up a little bit more compared to the way he's been vomiting, so I know he kept most of that canned cat food down. Thank You God!!! Nope, no Nutr-Cal and no Karo syrup yet either. Now, guess what Mommy's gonna get a whole bunch of at the grocery store after the third of the month when I send my cab man? Yep!!! Ya'll have got to know how thrilled I am about this. I just pray, pray, pray that Styx kitty continues gobbling up the mushy canned cat food and not throwing it up. Hey, I might even be able to sneak in a few more winks. Woo Hoo!!!

Wanted to wait to give youze guyze this terrific news until at least half a day had passed and Styx kitty successfully kept down that food. Well, as the song goes: "I'm so excited! And, I just can't hide it! I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!"

Thanks so very much to all of you for your continued support, love and prayers for this old man kitty cat. Angels Breathe!!!

Many Blessings to Everyone, Your Fur and Feather Kid Angels and Your Fur and Feather Kids at Home!!! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Oceans of Salmon and Whitefish Love!!! Always, Dottie xoxoxox

PS. Please, turn up your volume and click below ...

"I'm So Excited!"

Yes, I know this song is about something different, but a whole lot of the lyrics apply. My favorite part: "We shouldn't even think about tomorrow. Sweet memories will last a long, long time. We'll have a good time, Baby. Don't you worry. And, if we're still playing around, Boy, well that's just fine!" I'll have to sing that part to Styx kitty when he next wakes up. {{{{{More Big Hugs}}}}}

Hi, Dottie, catching up on your GREAT NEWS!! I'm also sharing your excitement about Styx Kitty's new found appetite. "Let the fish in", "Let the fish in", (sung to "Let the sunshine in"). I can just see him pointing his paw into his mouth - - "food, food, food".

I can so relate to how you are feeling about now - - tired, exhausted, elated, worried - - just try to live for the moment with your precious kitty man, as I know you already are.

Thank you so much for sharing this great news with us, Dottie - - and yes, I do mean the clear Karo syrup. Please know you and your precious Kitty are in my thoughts and prayers, Dottie, and will look forward to knowing how things are going.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam
