The smell of you still in the air, the empty bowl, a clump of hair.
One thing that never goes away, is the wanting and needing for you to stay,
But it's too late and you have gone and my days of sorrow go on and on,
I miss the sound of you laying down, your little grumbles, your old man frown,
I long to see your furry face, looking at me from your special place,
It's hard to believe I wont see you again until I too leave this realm,
I know with Midge you run and play, but I wish with me you both could have stayed,
I look around my empty home, with others here I'm still alone,
I miss you guys so very much, yet in my heart we stay in touch,
I'm sorry Tan for what I couldn't do, it had no bearing on my love for you,
I miss our hugs every night, the sound, the smell and of course the sight,
Of my big lad who was so proud with so much love to go around,
I love you boy and always will, I feel you with me when I am still,
So go now boy, go play with Midge, cross together that rainbow bridge,
And as you both lay down to sleep and hear me sobbing, hear me weep,

Hey, I can really relate to your expressive poem. I'll never 'let go' really, to my own two kidlets. Why would I want to? And who says we have to? And I'll never say 'good-bye', either, only a "see you soon" sentiment will do, lest my soul and not just my heart, break into pieces beyond any hope of salvaging.

Hey Tan, I miss you fella. It's been a week since you had to go away and I've cried every night. I can still smell you in the house and I swear I've heard you pottering around too. I heard you groan a couple of times, like when you lay down. Gaia misses you mate, she's not eating properly yet. I'm trying to take her out more to keep her occupied (me too) but she's sad fella. Your mum misses ya too mate. Had some nice texts and emails from people saying how much you will be missed, bit of a fan club by the look of things Tan Tan. I guess you've met up with Midge, you two look after each other until I get there ok! Play nice and share the sticks will ya! Can't really say it feels like "more than a week" or "less than a week", it just feels like a week. I hope you can hear me when I'm talking to you buddy as I'm wandering round the house or taking Gaia out for a walk. I wander around alot these days, feeling kinda lost.

Oh mate, I miss our hugs and the way you put your paws over your face. A week! Jeeze Tan...things here are pretty much the same really. People going about there business etc etc they dont seem to see how sad I am. I feel as though a chunk of my heart has been taken away.

I've gotta run mate, not been sleeping very well and it's late here again. If you get chance Tan could you just pop into a dream now and then to say hi, bring Midge too. I miss you buddy, but you know that anyway. Love ya Tan Tan, give Midge a hug for me.

Well Tan, it's past midnight a week later on the day you left and it's been pretty crappy. It's times like these I could really do with one of your hugs mate. Gaia is still not eating properly either and she looks for you everywhere. So do I.

Anyway Tan Tan, its another week without your groaning and slobbering all over me...and it still sucks! Gaia is still not eating properly and I am going to keep an eye on that and go see the doggy doc if it doesn't get any better. We went for a walk the other day to the memorial park across the road...I kept seeing you and Midge running behind the trees...which was weird. It snowed here a little too. You were funny in the snow mate. Damn I miss you.

Hey big fella!

Missed you alot these last few days. Things are changing at home, looks like Sarah is coming back. Gaia has started to eat a bit but only half of what she normally stole from your bowl when you weren't looking. Hope you can still hear me as I still talk to you now and then at home. It's all a bit weird here at the mo Tan, I could do with a hug to be honest. You be good and say hi to Midge for us. Miss you mate...its not got that much easier to be fair.
