Could It Be A Sign?, little kitty Options

As you know, it has been a struggle lately. I've been so desperately wanting a sign or a visitation from my Alley and nothing has happened! Most of you also know that I am waiting for pictures of Alley's last morning and pictures of her grave, and all I've been getting are excuses why they haven't made it to the mail yet and its been very frustrating. I even had cigarettes

So on my drive home yesterday from work, I turned off the radio and just concentrated on talking to Alley, asking her, begging her, for a sign, for something, anything, just to let me know she was there. I'm not sure these qualify, but maybe... ?

When I walked in the door, my boyfriend was on the phone with my mom and she had called to say the pictures were in the mail!!! FINALLY!

A couple hours later, I was sitting on the couch watching tv and I suddenly hear a little meow outside. I got up and opened the door and there was an adorable little black kitty, meowing at my door! He looked to be about 6 or 7 months old. He was obviously not a stray because he seemed clean and well fed and he was VERY friendly. I went out and petted him a bit and he followed me back in the house! I kept him for about 20 minutes, just holding him and petting him and loving on him. My landlord would freak if I had a cat in the apartment and besides, I didn't want him to hang around and not go home where he belonged. Unfortunately, he spent the rest of the evening, crying either at my door or at the neighbors doors, by my house and across the street.

I felt so bad for him and went out and petted him several times and even walked him around the block once to see if he would recognize his home, but he didn't. One of the neighbors put out a box with a blanket in it for him to sleep in if he stayed around and I think he curled up in it. This morning, he was gone. I don't know if he's lost, or abandoned or what. Hopefully he found his way home and is safe and cozy with his family. If he's still around tonight, I don't know what I'll do. I would love to take him in but I just can't. I would lose my apartment if she found out. Also. I'm sure he's got a family somewhere looking for him, so I wouldn't want to take him from them. IF he doesn't go home in the next few days, I may have to take him to the shelter for his own safety and health but I would hate to have to do that.

It was so nice though, to have him for a few minutes and pet his soft fur and hear his little purr. Do you think its possible that Alley sent him to me for the night? Maybe she couldn't come herself but still wanted to comfort me so sent him instead?

p.s. I have made a promise to myself, and to Alley, that as soon as those pictures arrive (few days) I will do my best to stop smoking again.

I know how much you have been struggling, I hope the photos get to you soon. It's gonna be hard but all this waiting is very hard too.

I think the kitten really could have been a sign from Alley. Maybe she sent him because she knew you needed a 'kitty fix'. I'm hoping he made his way home in the night.

Hey, Paula,

This is the same kind of thing that I'm convinced Sabin did for me by sending me a neighbourhood cat I'd never seen before then...who looked and acted like an exact cross between him and his sister. (she was one beautiful cat, I'll tell you!) So unless this cat is an abandoned one, or maybe even if he/she is, it sure sounds like a sign from Alley.

And so does the pictures finally getting in the mail! Sounds like she had a paw in getting that finally in the works, too! Seriously! Hope you get them really soon!

Now I'm worried about that cat, too, though. Do you think your landlord would really mind if you had to take him in just long enough to either try to find his family, or to find him a new home if no one claims him? You could always make up some posters, place local ads (lost and found is usually free), call some vet clinics, etc. if you think he's lost.

Alley's Mama, I definately think it could be a sign from your girl! Why the heck not? I believe that if we open our hearts as well as our minds (and our eyes and ears) that we will recieve signs often.I'm glad you got a sign from your girl but even if you didn't she would still be at the rainbow bridge,safe and happy and content.She'll be waiting there for you when it is your time to pass on.I never really got a clear sign from my boy Sox but I know without a doubt that he is safe and happy and that I will see him again one day.You just have to have faith in God that he holds all of his creatures in the hollow of his hand until we are together again.Your always in my thoughts and prayers.Sincerely,Renee (Sox's mom)

I really think it WAS a sign from Alley. I have seen cats at friends houses and at petsmart where I go to pet them once in a while, but when I saw this little guy and picked him up I just had such a wonderful feeling, like it was meant to be. I don't know why she can't come herself. Knowing her, she's just too lazy but it really felt like she sent this little guy.

I saw him yesterday when I got home, he was up the street meowing at another door. I didn't want to call to him right then though because there was so much traffic and I didn't want him to go into the road to get to me. Later, I went back out and saw him following a woman down the sidewalk and she let him into her apartment. I don't think he belonged there but I really think he is lost or abandonded, but I'm hoping she has decided to give him a home. I made note of which place it was so if I see him out again looking for attention I will knock on her door and ask if he is hers.

I still have the cat treats I bought Alley for christmas, I put the gift away in the closet at the time but maybe its time to take it out, just in case this little one comes looking for a treat

My pictures should arrive today or tomorrow and I am so nervous and anxious and scared all at the same time about seeing them.
