On Sunday afternoon we had our Vanna, our precious angel kitty, put to sleep. She was 15 1/2 years old. Her health had been declining for the past few months, and for the past week she'd been hiding in closets and under the couch. She waswould, however, reappear in the kitchen for a bite to eatOn Saturday, she stopped eating, and hid in my bedroom closed most of the day. and when Sunday came and she still refused food

I hear you and know the pain that you're feeling. I replied to Debbie's email with my story but we lost our boy yesterday. My husband and I can't stop crying as well. I noticed the time of your message was very early this morning... we didn't sleep well either. I can only assume that the intense waves of pain and emptiness will lessen over time for us as well as for you. Until then...I say keep the tears rolling. I went to bed last night feeling like things would be okay but woke up this morning and experienced the loss all over again when I looked over and didn't see Jordan wagging his tail and staring at us until we got up to feed him. I wanted so badly to call him up onto our bed and cuddle with us. It is so sad.

so sorry for the two of you and I am just praying and praying that my cat will survive. I am so sorry you lost your pals. it is heartwrenching. about the best I can say is that we have all been so lucky to have had them for the time we have. People have often said they thought my cat was lucky to have me, but its the other way round. I am the lucky one.

So sorry about your loss!!!
This is painful beyond words, I know. Remember that Vanna wasn't hiding from you---her health problems were telling her to "keep to herself". You gave her the ultimate gift---she is in no pain. It was time for her physical body to pass on, but her soul is alive and she is experiencing only bliss  . It is natural to grieve, but Vanna wants you to find as much happiness as you can in your life. Although her soul is free now, yours is still living in a physical body. But when it's your time, you'll be reunited.Keep in touch. We understand what you're going through and are here for you.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. Yeah, I couldn't sleep at all last night...guess that accounts for my crappy spelling and that I couldn't even finish the post.
 I'm feeling a bit better today, but it's going to take some time. I was 9 years old when we adopted her...I'm 24 now, so I had her the majority of my life, aside from when I was away at college. Our other cat, Alex, is feeling lonely as well. He's been pacing all over the house, sniffing at the places Vanna would lay. Vanna was always very maternal with him, grooming him, etc. We plan on adopting another kitty fairly soon, not only for our sake but for Alex's sake, since he's never known life without another cat. Anin and LittleGirl'sMommy, I'm so sorry for your losses as well. And Gingerspal, I'm praying for you and your kitty. I'm so glad I found this place, since you all are going through the same thing. I should get to bed, since I'm going back to work tomorrow:) Talk to everyone later! |

I am sorry to hear about your Vanna, Angel kitty.
She is in a much better place, over Rainbow's Bridge, where there is noooooooooo more pain, no suffering, just peace, joy & happiness......... Our furbabies who have gone on before your Vanna, I'm sure they are all "showing Vanna the ropes", and jumping through the flowers & meadows!!!! No more pain & suffering................that helps me to get along when I think about Ernestine, and all of the other furbabies on this site that have gone on to Rainbow's Bridge. In the beginning..............yes, there were tears................ I couldn't believe how much I cried, but, why not??? I lost a very special girlfriend, that I bought for just $10.00 when I was 23, and she was put to sleep when I was 43.... We had a lot of history together........... She really was my best friend!! (always will be!!!)The best thing I ever did for myself, was just stay on this site.............. Everyone here has SO MUCH WISDOM, REALLY, AND THEY HELPED TO GET ME THROUGH.......
