Although it has only two weeks since our George left us, we had to adopt another little one.
Some may say it's too soon, but we just had to fill the void left by the loss of our buddy. It was just too much to bear.So we would like everyone to meet little Sable. She's a fiesty little baby, and just loves to cuddle. She needed a good home so we couldnt resisit.
She will never replace George, nor do we want her to.We just need to pass on the love he taught us.It's for his memory.......and our peace.

OMG...she is so beautiful....so utterly precious. I am so glad you got her and posted her pictures here. We will be expecting lots more pictures and stories as your life begins together.

I understand about the empty home. When my LIttle Guy passed last Sept....he was the last of 3 and our home became totally empty. I have loved and been loved by these babies all my life and just could not go any longer so I adopted a 2 year old kitty from a shelter and having him here really does help.

The only people I ever have heard say its too soon (in my life) have been people who do not have animals, do not like them at all, etc....in other words the people I heard talk like that are really saying they don't want anyone to ever have any...so I just consider the source. I know what is best for me..they don't.

Back to your gorgeous one.......I am going to having fun looking at your pictures and Jon's kitten, Iggy, here. They are such a joy.

I just could have written every word you just said..to express feelings I have.

Welcome, Sable....you and your new family have lots to look forward to.....with lots of smiles and laughter..that is so nice to be able to write and say.

Hugs to you and your new family. I will be watching for more pictures and stories.

Little Sable is "pawsitively" adorable. tongue.gif

I think it's marvelous the way you honored George's teachings of love. Passing on the love George gave you is such a gift of healing. Somehow or other it brings more meaning into our lives with a purpose that is fulfilling for all.

It feels sooooooooo good to feel some joy and happiness once again. I'll bet George had a part in guiding you to this sweet little kittylove. All of you can be happy, joyous, and free to enjoy the peace you have found.

Much love to all of you. wub.gif

I waited two months for my New Hire...Simply because I was waiting for him to be ready to leave his mother.
Sable is gorgeous!

Since Miles died in March, I laughed for the first time when Ignatius (Iggy) (Piggy The Pink-nosed Clown Prince) arrived. I had a lot of love left over, that had nowhere to go.

The deep love Miles and I had for each other was based on different things, and was its own special kind. It will not be replaced no matter what I do.
But the New Hire has made me so happy, and shows me that Life goes on. Every time I have a sinking feeling about missing Miles, Iggy does something so outrageous, he makes us laugh. He has this earnest expression on his face while he is being crazy!

It has gotten so bad that my relatives have actually asked me to stop talking about him. Well, sorry, but they have not cheered me up like this, so ..

Anyway, do not question whether you got Sable too early. I have learned over the years that they seem to show up when needed. Once we lost a dear old cat, and instantly, not only did Miles show up at the door pregnant, looking for a Client, but someone also found Murphy for us. Sam has arrived earlier.
So we went from zero to four cats because the call went out, "Cat Wanted". It just seems to be the way it is supposed to work, I guess.

Welcome little Sable hope you have a wonderful life with your new family.

You look so much like my old girl Topsy who I lost in 2006 aged 22 years.

I have been wondering the same question. I do not want to forget Sissy. It has been 11 days and I'm already questioning should I or not get a new kitten. I just want the empty space in my heart and home to be filled. I think it all depends on when you are ready. Whether it be a few days or few years. Only you can make that choice. Looks like it was a great choice for you. I am so happy you can once again share the love you shared with George. I'm sure thats what he would have wanted.
Many wishes to you for many great times with her. Enjoy

Sable sure is a little beauty. I love her multiple coloring. Kittens are so full of mischief and fun to watch when they are exploring new things. Their natural playfulness and inquisitive little selves bring so many smiles filled with laughter into the home and heart.

Big brother George is no doubt very proud of his new baby sister and glad you have her to share your love and life with.

Enjoy!
