A long time ago, I started a post where people put down happy or funny memories about their beloved furbabies. I thought it might be nice to do that again since so many new people have joined this site since that time.
As for Daisy, - she was so small that wherever we went, I always heard people say "look at that tiny dog," or "she's so small," or something like that. - she loved to roll in the grass. She got so into it that when she got up, she always looked disoriented for a moment, before she found her bearings - as a puppy, she was so fast, that I could not catch her. She had an egg shape ball that she would hunt. As it skidded around the floor, she would pounce on it and make it skid again. - she was extremely protective, despite her small size. Once she went for the ankles of a deliveryman who raised his voice (while speaking into a cell phone) Fortunately, he thought it was cute, when she grabbed ahold of his blue jean bottoms and growled fiercely. - when she wanted something, she would bark at my husband whom she seemed to think could understand her better. He would then "translate" for her. - when I came home, her greetings were endless - tailing wagging, jumping around, licking. - sometimes she would not come if I called, but if I pretended to cry, she would be over in a second to comfort me. She was a wonderful dog and is muched missed. Daisy's Mommy |

Daisy's Mommy
Daisy sounds so cute, I wish I could have met her! Of course your husband talked 'dog' so he could translate, LOL. For my Moose kitty When someone knocked on the door, he would growl. Then run into the bedroom as fast as possible! He loved the 3D TV we made of a window. We put up several bird feeders in front of a window. We get tons of birds and little animals. He could sit in the sun on a kitty tower and watch the show. He really liked it when the window could be open. He loved to be held like a baby and have his tummy scratched. His daddy would carry him around for hours like that. He would 'paddle' his little foot to show which way he wanted daddy to walk next. He would sit at the door and 'talk' to us. He could say meout and OUT NOW! LOL We loved him and miss him so much. Love -------------------- Lori

What a sweet idea... thank you for suggesting this.
Mo used to sit in chairs on his bum with his feet out in front of him like a little kid. When we went to the vet (his "Lady" as we would call her - he was smitten) he would have climb up into a chair between the people waiting in chairs with their animals on the floor. He'd sit in the waiting room with everyone for as long as it took, until his Lady came out to get him. He loved the car - he would sit to his side in the back seat with his chin held high and his little lip resting on the window..I always used to wonder what he was thinking about.. If I was in the kitchen and he was in front of the refrigerator, I would simply say "beep beep" and he'd back right up so I could open the door. We had our own language. Without fail, for 11 years, whenever I spoke, he wagged his tail. He responded to my every word and he was my shadow (and yet my light). We loved each other so dearly and deeply. How I miss him.. -------------------- "Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened." Anatole France

I used to talk to Alley all the time and usually she ignored me
![]() Alley didn't like spiders. She didn't avoid them, but she didn't eat them either like some cats will. She would just sit and watch one for a minute with her head tilted like she was studying it. Then she would reach out and bite it and then just walk away. She didn't want to eat it, but she didn't want them in her house either, lol, so she just killed them and walked off, a job well done. She did so many silly things, it would take all day to post them all. I really need to get them written down in her book. I'm afraid I will forget them. -------------------- |

Jemima used to jump through a hoop my husband made. She also played fetch without being taught. She earned the nickname "Mouse" as my husband said she looked like a mouse when she ran.
Harriette (1990-1999) was my att*itude cat. If she wanted to sit somewhere and something was blocking her way, well, she'd knock it off. -------------------- Jemima: June 1, 1991 - December 1, 2006

my cutest memory of poohbear is when she was a kitten. my hubby came home from work and hugged me and kissed me.. then all of a sudden i could feel him tense up.. and i pulled back just a smidge.. to see pooh sitting on his shoulder..she had climbed up his leg, back and shoulder just to sit there... explains why he tensed as you know kitten claws are very sharp...hee hee.. guess she didnt want to feel left out...and she didnt crawl up fast.. seems she took her time one claw at a time to get there....
![]() now my funniest about kitten was when we livivng in our apartment while our house was being built we had sandwhiches for a quick supper..(hubby liked spam at the time blech!) and he had left his plate on the table with 1/2 a sandwhich left and went to bed..a couple of hrs later kitten was standing on our doorway meowing..and we flipped the light on to see her standing there with a slice of spam and bread hanging from her mouth..seems the bread got stuck in her teeth(the way it stciks to the roof of your mouth when you take a bite) and although i think she mean to eat it before we found out she realised that she couldnt becasue the bread got sticky and stuck to her teeth and the roof of her mouth...so she need help even if it cost her her snack...we gave in after helping her and she had the spam...we couldnt say no..after all she went to great lengths to have the snack with out us finding out.... ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

Michelle's kittty this is so funny - what I really like is how she knew you could help her with this! Anne, my Yukon had att*itude too. I remember his last Christmas, guests tried to shoo him off his chair to have his seat but he kept jumping back as quickly as he was being shooed off. He was so funny with both ears down , that they gave in and let him have his chair and he just sat there with a look on his face that seemed to say: what is this, my chair, and you want it? Well tough folks, this is MY chair in MY house!

Michelle,
What an effort Kitten made for her Spam!!! My cat Peaches made me smile for so many reasons, but she cracked me up so bad one morning when I had just put up the Christmas tree the night before. I woke up to hear jingling noises the next morning. It wasn't Christmas yet so I was pretty sure it wasn't Santa! I came down to examine the tree and lo & behold, there was Peaches, poking her head out from the middle of the Christmas tree.....she had climbed it!!! She looked like a pretty little ornament among the Christmas bulbs. I have an awesome snapshot of this, I will try to transfer it to digital so I can post it for you all, it is so funny!!! |

Hi Daisy's Mom and everyone else,
I like this idea, so I have one funny story and I wish I could find a photo we have of it...darn but I will just have to explain and maybe add it later. So our cat Frank, a orange tabby, used to love to eat corn on the cob, yes for real, he would spin the cob with one paw while taking bites of the kernels, or you could hold it for him he would take big bites from it...he had a crazy appet*ite, he loved veggies and fruits, I think he liked sweet things, his most favorite two items, peas, and cantalope, my husband found out one day when he went to throw out the garbage he had left out the night before with a cantalope rind with little chew marks all over it, it was a green shell nothing left, also if you gave him peas or tuna he would go for the peas first... He also used to fetch, we called him more a dog than a cat, he would carry the wire to champagne bottles, and drop it at your feet, and if you threw it across a tile or wood floor would run to catch it and bring it back to you, he played that game in his old age, even when his eye sight was failing would need some help to find the wire after it was thrown, he also would slide into the cupboards so we had to be careful then...I love those memories, thanks for the suggestion. ![]() -------------------- Hrudey Boy's forever momma
