I am coming up on the 6 month anniversary of the death of my chocolate lab Lucy who passed away on Feb. 4th of lymphoma at the age of 5. I miss her terribly still. This website was a savior for me as I waded through the intense grief that accompanied her illness and death. We have adopted a dog from the shelter who was on his "last days" and he has brought some happiness back to our lives but I still miss Lucy like crazy. I miss you so much Lucy girl. Your time on earth was too short, but I will be eternally grateful for all the days we had together.

I don't write much here anymore, but found a nice poem about homeless cats that I thought all of you as pet lovers could appreciate...May God bless all of you as you grieve for the loss of your special furbabies...

Take care, Caroline

Stray Cat

Oh, what unhappy twist of fate
Has brought you, homeless, to my gate
The gate where once another stood
To beg for shelter, warmth and food?
For from that day I ceased to be
The master of me destiny,
While she, with purr and velvet paw
Became, within my house, The Law.
She scratched the furniture and shed
And claimed the middle of my bed.
She ruled in arrogance and pride
And broke my heart the day she died.
So if you really think, oh cat
I'd willingly relive all that
Because you come, forlorn and thin
Well-don't just stand there- come
on in!

Hi, Caroline-

I was just thinking about you today and wondering how you were doing. I was actually going to email you. smile.gif

It's hard to believe that you're coming up on Lucy's 6 month anniversary...I'm coming up on Shiloh's 11 month. Somedays it feels like a second, some days it feels like an eternity.

You and Lucy are in my thoughts on her 6 month anniversary.
Love,
Kathleen

PS-The poem you posted is so dear. wub.gif

Thankyou for that amazing poem! It's so perfect for how I feel. I don't know how this might sound, but I am ready for bear-cat's spirit to guide me in finding the right cat. I am not saying today, or this month, but maybe in 3 months (do you hear me bear-cat...not YET!). Sick as it may sound, I wish I could clone Bear-cat, but I don't have that ability sooo.. So it may be a adoption of an older cat...but my roomates are pushing for a kitten. I almost would prefer an older cat, I like the idea of giving a home to a cat who has been abandoned.

Thankyou for being here, animal lovers.
