Perhaps it was too soon to welcome a new addition to the family. It's only been two weeks since my sweet Tina passed on, and I miss her dearly. But there is something about this little cat. She has already touched my heart after only a few days. I named her Shelley. She is almost 1 year old. She had a litter of three beautiful kittens about 3 months ago, and nursing them has taken a lot out of her. She weighs only 6.5 pounds and could easily gain 1 pound without being overweight. In comparison, my Tina weighed 6.8 pounds when she died, and she was awful thin. Shelley is eating well, and that is good. She was hiding a lot at first, but now she is starting to come out of her 'shell', so to speak. Mindy has been chasing her, and that scares her. Shelley is a very loving cat. She likes to talk to me with little chirps and guttural sounds and almost coos like a dove. She has little flecks of color on her chest. She grabbed one of Tina's old catnip pillows and played with it and kicked it. She also likes the feather wand that Tina played with. Saturday morning she startled me when I woke up. She sat upright by my feet and looked at me with those gentle, green eyes. She and Mindy have touched noses today, and when I sat down on the bed Mindy snuggled up to me on my left side, and then Shelley snuggled up to me on my right side. It was amazing. Shelley did real good at the vet and got a clean bill of health.

What a beautiful young lady Shelley is. When it comes to sharing our hearts with animal companions, there is no "too soon" Only when it's supposed to hapen. Perhaps your Tina's living spirit guided Shelley your way, as Tom did with me and Tang. It's good to hear she and Mindy are getting along OK. I am chuckling at the "chirps" that's what Theresa did for the longest time before she found her "voice" Hope you and your fur kidletts are doing well today.

Hi, DannysMom, please permit me to offer you my sincere congratulations on your new family member Shelley. What a sweet face!!! DannysMom, plesae know your beloved Tina is very proud of you for welcoming this new little girl into your and little Mindy's heart and home. It sounds to me like your beloved Tina guided your and Shelley's paths to this moment when you would become her Forever Mom.

DannysMom, it does take time for a "new" family unit to feel comfortable, and this is true for your new baby girl Shelley as well. She is among "strangers" right now and she is very unsure as to how she "fits in" with the family unit. Your beloved Tina, and Danny, know that you will do everything in your power to help her feel loved and wanted, and take care of her so that she will have a happy and healthy earthly journey. So, enjoy your new family member, DannysMom. And rest assured that your little Mindy will be okay too.

I hope today is treating you, your precious little Mindy and baby girl Shelley kindly, and that you and your precious girls will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, and of your precious little girls. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing how things are going for you and your little girls, and your treasured memories of your beloved Tina and Danny.

Peace and blessings,

Moon_beam, and Tom's Dad, thanks so much for stopping by to read about Shelley. She is quite a cat. It is so funny how she comes out from under the bed, first her paws, and then her head. She sniffed on Mindy's back today, only to be rewarded by a growl from Mindy. But it's a start. They're curious about each other. I thought I'd share the photo of the two of them on my bed together. Mindy is resting her head on a toy. You can see Shelley's colorful front legs. I am glad she is getting more comfortable here.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and this wonderful picture of your little Mindy and baby girl Shelley sharing some "quailty time" together. I know in time your little girls will be good frieinds - - it just happens one day at a time - - as all friendships do.

I hope today is treating you and your precious girls kindly, DannysMom, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. Please know you, your precious little Mindy and baby girl Shelley are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to knowing how you're doing and sharing your treasured memories of your beloved Danny and Tina.

Dear DannysMom, Shelley is one beautiful girl - I wish you and Mindy many more years of happiness together and look forward to any more stories or photos you wish to share, hope the universe is kind to you, Leejaye
DannysMom
Thanks for the well wishes, leejaye! smile.gif Shelley is very sweet, and I really like that photo of her and Mindy on the bed. Shelley's face looks like she is smiling.

It's been one week now since I brought Shelley home, and what a difference this week has made! Miss Shelley has really come out of her 'shell' in the past two days. She is feeling more comfortable here and ventures out of the bedroom more. She has also discovered the little toy mice that are strewn all over the place here. She LOVES them! And she is so acrobatic! She plays with the toy mice as if they are real. It is so much fun to watch. Mindy tries to imitate her, but doesn't quite get it. Shelley flips the mouse in the air, then jumps and catches it in mid-air. Earlier today, she was sunning herself by the open window. And what a talker she is! She makes all these little grunts, chirps, and cries. She is also very intelligent. She likes greeting me in the morning by rubbing her nose against mine. Shelley is still thin (nursing her kittens took a lot out of her), but she is eating good, and I hope she'll gain weight quickly. She weighed 6.5 pounds when I got her, and she could easily put on 1 pound or even 1 1/2 pounds without being overweight.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy, and baby girl Shelley are doing. I am sooo thrilled to share your news that Shelley is beginning to settle in - - to come to know she has a FOREVER HOME!!! I am sooooo happy for you - - I know your heart is feeling more at peace.

I hope today is treating you and your precious girls kindly, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Thanks, moon_beam. I am very happy that Shelley is more comfortable here. Last night and this afternoon she has been napping in the 'kitty condo' that's part of the big cat jungle gym. She even chased Mindy earlier today, and then Mindy chased her right back. She rubbed noses a few times with Mindy and each time Shelley affectionately 'nudged' Mindy. I am so glad the two girls are beginning to play more together. Here is a photo of Shelley napping in the little kitty condo. It used to be one of Danny's favorite spots.

Dear DannysMom, It's just wonderful to hear that Shelley is settling in - I can just picture her with the toy mice!! And it's so good that both girls are getting used to each other, thankyou so much for the photo of Shelley napping in the cat condo, she is really a beautiful girl, give them their favourite pats for me, Leejaye
DannysMom
Thanks for the comment on Shelley's photo, leejaye. She is really cute. Shelley has little light-colored dots on her chest and abdomen. I have not seen this before in a calico cat. I think I figured out why Shelley has been so friendly and nudging Mindy. She is in a heat cycle! laugh.gif
I should have recognized the behavior for what it is, but it has been so long since I've had a cat that's not spayed (yet). I hope I don't have any stray tomcats showing up here, wailing for Miss Shelley.
leejaye
Hey DannysMom, Aha, that explains the friendliness! My Mischief girl was 18 months before I got her desexed, when she was on heat she just didn't want to know me but drooled all over my male flatmate and any male (human) visitors!! I hope you don't have any tomcats doing the rounds either!! Really hope all is good in your world, give the lovely ladies a pat for me, Leejaye PS I'd love to see more photos if you want to share them!!

I thought it was too soon two months after losing Chewy getting Ellie but I am so glad I did as she reminds me of him.....and I like that as it reminds me of how lucky I was to have Chewy. It also reminds me of how it was Chewy who made me love cats and now I just want to spread my love to helping more.

She is gorgeous! And I and I can't think o a better person to look aft her. It took Ellie time to bond with the other two. That photo of them two together shows a good start though.

Do they play fight together yet? Although both being girls they are probably less likely to do that I suppose.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you and your precious baby girl Shelley are doing. Yes, when the hormones are flowing the more amorous the affections become. Hopefully come the first of June when the "surgery" is scheduled the "love cycle" will have cooled a bit.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley kindly, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. xxForeverxx, that is a nice thing you did adopting Ellie. Your sweet Chewy must have had a 'paw' in guiding you to her. I think it took Mindy and Shelley less time to get used to each other, because Shelley is in heat and therefore very loving and always nudging Mindy. They don't play fight as Shelley doesn't really get into fighting (she is a very sweet and somewhat timid cat), but they do chase each other with Mindy more often chasing Shelley. They're almost the same age, so that works out well. Shelley is a big talker, making all sorts of grunts, chirps, and squawks.
DannysMom
Shelley had her spay surgery today and it went well. I am very thankful that she made it through without complications as I had been worried about her. She is a bit of a fussy cat, and she's also clever and gave Mindy's old plastic e-collar the slip without a problem. So, now she's wearing this big, blue, soft vinyl e-collar. She doesn't like it, but she can eat and drink water and lie down comfortably. Shelley wouldn't stop licking her incision, so this is for her protection. How do you explain to them that they need this silly, big collar? I feel so bad for my little girl. Mindy did much better with her e-collar and didn't put up a fight. She seemed to understand that it was necessary. I do hope Shelley gets used to it. Sigh! Male cats are so much easier to deal with when it comes to that kind of procedure.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and how your precious baby girl is doing with her recovery. Yes, I know it can be very distressing having to be the one to insist that our furkids do something that is not to their liking at all - - like wearing an e-collar. Hopefully you will be able to transition her out of it over the next several days - - providing she is a "good girl" with not bothering her incision. The good news is that she is more comfortable with this collar than the more rigid plastic ones. Please let us know how things go.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley kindly, and that you and your precious girls will have a good long weekend together. Please know you, your precious little Mindy and baby girl Shelley are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to knowing how you're doing and sharing your treasured memories of your beloved Danny and Tina.

Hello, DannysMom

Oh no, the dreaded FUNNEL! Bless her heart. She looks like she's saying "Mommy what IS this thing, and why oh why do I have to wear it?" Hopefully it won't be too long. Hoping this holiday weekend is treating you and your girls well.

DannysMom
moon_beam and Tom's Dad, thanks very much for your comments. Shelley is indeed not happy with this big blue funnel that makes her look like some sort of clown, but she is tolerating it better than the rigid, plastic one. She gave the collar the slip in the litter box earlier, so I had to put it back on and tie it. Sigh! Shelley snuggled up with me on the bed this morning, and she just loves attention. Mindy did hiss at her a bit last night because of the strange smells from the vet, but she is nice again to her little friend today. I've been giving Shelley some pain medication which I only need to rub on her gums, and that seems to help. I hope that maybe on Tuesday or Wednesday I can take off the collar. Poor Shelley! I feel so bad for her and try to make her as comfortable as possible. This is a bit exhausting for me as I worry about her incision.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy, and baby girl Shelley are doing. Our furkids are so ingenius about finding ways to wriggle out of things - - collars, halters, - - e-collars. I'm glad you put it back on her because she needs to know that it only comes off when YOU want it to come off.

I can understand your concern about her incision, for I, too, worried about my baby girl Abbygayle's incisions as well - - her "female" surgery and each of her cancer surgeries. Please know you and your precious baby girl are in my thoughts and prayers and please let us know how things are going.

Once again, I hope today is treating you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley kindly, and that you and your precious girls will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Hi leejaye! Friday is the day that the collar comes off for good! I can hardly wait. I tried the plastic one on Shelley, but she freaked out and walked real funny with it. Mindy was okay with the plastic collar, and she did so well with it, being very patient and understanding. I think the soft, vinyl e-collars are much better for them. Shelley's incision looks okay, just a little scab, and the vet put some Neosporin on it today. Give your little Purszi a pat on the head from me! smile.gif
moon_beam
Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you and your precious baby girl Shelley is doing. So glad her recovery continues to be on track. Neosporin is, in my opinion, a "miracle drug." Even if your baby girl somehow manages to lick it off it won't hurt her. I know both you and your baby girl are eagerly anticipating Friday. Will you have a ceremony for it? I can just hear your baby girl singing "happy days are here again!!!"

I hope today is treating you, your precious little Mindy and baby girl Shelley kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious girls will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. DannysMom
Moon_beam, thanks for the advice on the Neosporin. I didn't know that it was so safe. I think a ceremony on Friday would be a great idea. smile.gif I took the collar off this evening so that Shelley can relax a bit. Mindy took that as a cue that it is now permitted to chase her big sister again, so I had to remind her to cool it until Friday. Yesterday, Shelley laid down in what used to be Tina's "cat chair" for the first time. Incidentally, yesterday it was 30 days since Tina was buried. I wonder if Shelley was waiting until then to pay her respects to Tina before claiming the chair. I just had to take a photo of her as she looks so comfy in the chair.

Just one more night with the collar and then it's over! Shelley and Mindy like chasing each other, with Mindy chasing Shelley more often, and Shelley giving off a displeased low growl when she's had enough. I just had to post this photo. It shows Shelley next to Tina's portraits as she was "hiding" from Mindy.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley are doing, and for the wonderful picture of your precious Shelley taking refuge among your beloved Tina's pictures. I love your baby Shelley's black nose - -very distinctive from your beloved Tina's white blaise.

I trust all is going well minus the e-collar now. I can imagine the freedom she must be feeling now and she will probably want to make the most of it until she realizes she no longer has to be bothered with it.

Moon_beam, thank you for stopping by and commenting on Shelley's nose smile.gif I think her nose is really cute, but it has taken me a while to get used to her different look. Tina's facial markings were more symmetrical. Shelley's face and chin are very colorful, like someone took a paintbrush and just let loose. I can't help but smiling when I look at this sweet little face.

Today is a very special day for Shelley. It is her birthday (or at least what I'm guessing is her birthday)! She is 1 year old today! I sang 'Happy Birthday' to her and she looked up at me and meowed a few times. Mindy and Shelley have been busy chasing each other around this morning. Shelley loves to chase after little toy balls. She just can't get enough of running after them. She has also taken to a little green felt toy that's been sitting unused and was a leftover Christmas present for Tina and Danny. She loves that thing and she throws it in the air and paws it like it's real prey. I even saw her stomping on it with both hind paws. She is so funny!

Hi DannysMom

HaHa she really did not look happy in that collar.....great photo! There different to our ones we get given ours are solid boring colour ones which makes it extremely hard for our ones to eat or do anything without bumping into things. I am impressed she kept it on......Pixie lasted an hour with hers ad it was off......and it was going back on.....but then shes a very small cat and it probably weighed more than her!

I am so glad to here it all went well. That is a lovely photo of her next to Tina's photo......and a lovely photo of Tina. I think Tina would be proud of your new edition. Happy belated birthday to Shelley for last Saturday. Sounds like she was meowing back singing smile.gif

I can not wait to hear what you have been up to with your fur babies this week.

xxForeverxx
DannysMom
xxForeverxx, thank you for the belated birthday wishes for Shelley! She has so much energy and wants to play all the time while Mindy is getting chubby and sleeping most of the time or looking out the window. Shelley's favorite activity is to chase after little toy balls. She also likes toy mice and pretends they are real prey, flipping them in the air and pawing at them. She nags me when she wants to play. Mindy likes "washing" Shelley. A couple days ago I found Shelley sitting down with Mindy halfway on Shelley's back. Mindy had her front paws wrapped around Shelley's neck in a big hug and was profusely licking her head and ears while Shelley held still. Mindy also has taken up duty as the litter box police and always covers up Shelley's deposits. When I play with Mindy and Shelley joins in the little tux girl gets all jealous and lets Shelley know who's boss around here! smile.gif Here is a good photo of Shelley and her colorful legs. Her tummy is still bare, but the fur is growing back slowly.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy, and baby girl Shelley are doing. Sounds like Mindy is taking on the role of "caregiver" with her baby sister (even though Shelley is a little older than Mindy, she is still, and will always be, the "younger" family member).

I can so relate to how you feel about being glad when Shelley's tummy fur has grown back in. I remember when my mom's kitty Holly had her surgery and I brought her home from the vet. My mom took a look at her and cried, "Oh what a difference fur makes!!!" Holly's tummy was naked from the surgery and she looked half her size without her tummy fur.

Sounds like your baby girl is making up for "lost time" during her recovery with playing and playing and playing. I know your heart is soaring to see her recovered from the surgery and feeling so well and happy.

I hope today is treating you and your precious girls kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious fur family will have a very enjoyable weekend. Moon_beam, thanks so much for stopping by and reading about Shelley! smile.gif She had to go to the vet this morning to get her last round of shots. She cried all the way down there in the car, but she did really well. They scrubbed down her tummy to get rid of the scabs and put some kind of gel on her incision that I'm supposed to use a few times a day to help it heal. Her heart and lungs sound good, and palpitations were normal as well. She gained another few ounces and is up to 7.2 pounds now. Dr. V. says she could still gain 1 more pound and be fine. I mentioned to him that I suspect there might be a Siamese in Shelley's family tree, and he agreed. You can see it in her face shape, her bone structure, and the fact that she LOVES to talk. smile.gif She is also very athletic.

Shelley was so good about being handled and examined. She quieted down on the way home, and Mindy was glad to see her little friend.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how your precious Shelley did with her vet check up. I can so relate to her crying all the way to the vet, and being contented on the way home. I'm so glad she is doing so well with her surgery recovery and now being able to gain some weight. I know how concerned you have been as she was so undernourished when you became her Forever Mom.

Moon_beam, thanks for stopping by and commenting on Shelley's vet visit. I'm glad it went so well. They gave me a small bottle of Vetericyn, a hydro-gel that helps with wound healing. Shelley is quite good about me squirting a bit on her incision a couple times a day.
Today marks 1 month since I brought Shelley home with me. It feels like much longer than that. I still remember how she was so scared and clung to her previous owner when she saw me. She was so frightened, and I felt so bad. She has come nicely out of her "shell" since then, and I am so thankful for that. She is a sweet cat, and I guess the stronger bond will come in time. After all, she is a "teenager" now, and so she kinda wants to do her own thing. I do miss that she doesn't sleep with me every night like Tina did, but maybe that will come in time.

Shelley and Mindy had a little spat yesterday. Mindy got miffed again when Shelley joined in to play, and so she stood over her and "washed" her, and then she stepped on Shelley's side with one of her paws. Shelley cried out in pain, and tried to get away, with Mindy chasing after her. I got a nice new teaser toy for them, and took turns playing with them yesterday, with each one waiting their turn. Mindy loves 'washing" Shelley when she walks up to her.
moon_beam
Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley are doing. I'm so glad Shelley's incision is continuing to heal, and that she is cooperative when you put the medication on her tummy.

Holding the back of the neck and pinning is a "dominance" gesture. Teeth usually do not penetrate but just grab the back of the neck like a mother cat carrying her youngsters. It's always good to keep an eye on things as you're doing just in case things escalate more than what Mindy may realize. Both your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley are so blessed to have you for their Forever Mom.

I hope today is treating you and your precious girls kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious fur family will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Moon_beam, thank you for sharing with me what Mindy's behavior means. She doesn't bite Shelley in the back of the neck, but rather the side of her neck. First, she profusely licks her head and ears, and then she bites playfully in the side of her neck, at which time Shelley starts to voice her displeasure by growling and meowing. Last night Mindy was so relentless with Shelley. Almost every time that Shelley walked up to Mindy she "grabbed" her. I always try to supervise and intervene if necessary. Mindy almost treats Shelley as if she is her own little personal kitty "doll". She just can't get enough of her. They were lying next to each other by one of the scratch posts last night, and Mindy was playfully "pawing" at Shelley. After a while, Shelley had enough and growled. I'm glad that Shelley is so sweet and gentle. Mindy would never have been able to do all that with Tina whose very presence sometimes scared the "paws" off Mindy.
moon_beam
Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley are doing. Sounds like Mindy is happy to have another house mate, and this time someone she can "dominate" - - instead of being "dominated." As Shelley gets settled in more I would not be surprised at all to see her eventually become more of an "equal" to Mindy. It never ceased to awe me when I would watch my furkids interact with each other. There were a few times when I had to intervene when the play began to cross the line bordering on aggravation and then the next minute I would see them curled up around one another as though no disputes had happened. What a wonderful world your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley are sharing with you, DannysMom, and what a precious blessing they are for you.

Moon_beam, thank you for your comments. Mindy has become more daring. Last night she pounced on Shelley and grabbed her little body in a hug and wrestled her while Shelley let out little shrieks and tried to get away from Mindy. It appears that Mindy likes to play a bit rough like Tina used to play with Danny, and Shelley is confused. Little Shelley is a very gentle cat. She likes to chase Mindy, and last night they had such a good chase that Mindy started panting. I'm a bit worried about Mindy as she is less active than Shelley and doesn't really want to run and jump after a toy like Shelley does. I'm hoping she does not have a heart condition.
Shelley sat in the window today and meowed at me when I came back from running an errand. So sweet! And she came downstairs and greeted me, just like Tina used to do. Shelley is a gentle cat and so far has displayed none of the famed calico temper.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley are doing. Sounds like your Mindy is going through a "tom boy" stage - - and what better way to let the energy out than rough housing with a fellow house mate!!! Poor baby Shelley - - it's a challenge being the "under cat". But she has her Forever Mom on her side, and she knows you will not let her "big sister" hurt her, as I'm sure little Mindy would not want to anyway. Sounds like your baby girl is a "lady" - - I'm soooo glad you have both your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley in your heart and life.

I hope today is treating you and your precious girls kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious fur family will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Thank you so much for sharing your precious baby girl with us. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, DannysMom, and of your precious girls. Please know you, your precious little Mindy and baby girl Shelley are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news, and your treasured memories of your beloved Danny and Tina.

Peace and blessings,

Moon_beam, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my girls. They bring me so much joy, and I am glad they get along so well, because I had hoped so much that Shelley would be a good friend to Mindy. I think Shelley can put up with Mindy's antics, because she raised three kittens, and they were probably very rambunctious with their mommie.

I finally caught the girls on film, so you can see how much fun they're having. Notice Shelley's patient look as Mindy is play biting her.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your baby girl Shelley and precious Mindy are doing. Shelley certainly looks like she's "down for the count" with Mindy on top of her. Shelley is a very patient little sister, and a wonderful housemate for Mindy and you.

Yes, Shelley was "down", but not "out"! smile.gif Here are the girls, playing paddy cakes. They are almost the same size, not much difference between them. Shelley is more large-boned and muscular than Mindy, and this is due to her Siamese heritage. I think she is probably 1/4 Siamese. I sure wish I knew more about her history. Shelley likes walking up to Mindy to get her dose of loving, a good "washing" behind the ears and on the head. I am just still so amazed at how well they get along. Yesterday, Mindy tried her hand at chasing after a toy ball, but Shelley always interfered and ran off with it.

Hi, DannysMom, thank you so much for sharing with us how you, your precious Mindy and baby girl Shelley are doing, and this wonderful picture of your girls. Sounds like Miss Shelley is coming out of her shell, feeling more confident, and finding ways to "best", or annoy, her big sister (even though Miss Shelley is older than Mindy, Mindy is still her "big sister" in "seniority") - - such as running off with the toys!!!! I know how concerned you were for awhile when your baby girl joined the household that perhaps Mindy might not accept her. I am so oooooo thrilled for you and your precious girls that Miss Shelley is finding her own place with her Forever Home.

Thank your for your kind words, moon_beam. I too am thrilled that Mindy and Shelley are getting along and are playing together. Last night Mindy was stalking Shelley and blocked her path when she came around the couch, but Shelley just jumped right over Mindy and sped away. Mindy looked dumbfounded and didn't know what to do. Mindy also had Shelley in a prolonged headlock last night. Her little paws were wrapped so tight around Shelley's neck that I thought she was going to strangle her. Poor Shelley shrieked and freed herself from Mindy's grip. I don't know why Mindy likes to play rough like this.

Today, after I brought Shelley back from the vet, Mindy was very affectionate towards her and gave her a good "bath". She seemed glad to see Shelley and was mindful of her vet visit and treated her gently. Shelley had some diarrhea with streaks of bright red blood (Hematochezia). She didn't have a fever and seemed okay otherwise. Still, it worries me as I don't know what's causing it, and I'll have to keep an eye on my little girl. I am very concerned about her and just hope it's nothing serious. This is the second incidence of the bloody diarrhea. The first time it was caused by food she couldn't tolerate, but this time there has been no change in food.

Thanks for the hugs and prayers! I'm becoming quite attached to Miss Shelley and hope she lives at least 20 years! smile.gif

I find it the best thing to watch my cats play fight like yours are in the photos. My boy Fudge and the new addition Ellie will sit facing each other just staring and then suddenly one will take the jump and they will both be on the floor. Its hilarious!

I hope Shelley is ok. I am sure she will be fine. Keep us up to date about her situation. Its lovely that Mindy welcomed her home so lovingly though. That just shows how special Mindy is.
