MY TEN YEAR OLD CAT JERRY IS AT THE VET OVERNIGHT BUT BEING PUT TO SLEEP TOMORROW AND I AM HEARTBROKEN MY LITTLE BOY IS TOO HE IS ALSO TEN WE CAN'T STOP CRYING WE LOVE JERRY SO MUCH AND WE DON'T IMAGINE LIFE WITHOUT HIM I NEED TO SPEAK TO CAT LOVERS WHO KNOW WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH PLEASE HELP XX

I am so sorry to hear about your cat Jerry. I don't have a cat --we put our dog to sleep this past December and it's been a hard, awful sad journey to get from there to here. I still have some bad days, but somedays are better and I can remember Sammy more often now with a smile. I try to think of all the wonderful times we had and focus on those instead of the sad things -- although at first that is all I could think of -- the bad stuff. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your son tonight.

Oh, Jennifer, I am so sorry for you and your wonderful kitty Jerry. I've had several cats in my life and I love cats dearly, but I developed an allergy, so I have to stick to dogs. (And I do mean STICK to dogs!)

What a sad situation--to know that the end is coming and there's little you can do. The grieving process has already started for you, and it will continue for some time to come, I'm afraid. We true animal lovers don't recover from these losses easily--there's ALWAYS a lot of pain involved. The pain does eventually ease up, but for right now, you are right in the thick of it and it's really really hard.

You'll find lots of cat lovers and owners on this Forum, and all kinds of wonderful, supportive people. I encourage you to come here often to seek solace, as everyone here understands what you are going through. I lost one dog right before Christmas, and my wolf is now dying of cancer, very slowly. We all know the pain, and can help each other to get through it.

Obviously, Jerry is sick, so TRY to think of this step as a release for him from his pain, hard as that may be to do.

I lost my sweet cat Opie 2 1/2 weeks ago. I am completely heart broken too.
I wish I knew what to say. I'm sure you gave Jerry a wonderful life and he was so lucky to have a family like yours.

Hi Jennifer1, I am so very sorry about your sweet Jerry. I know the deep despair you're in right now and my heart goes out to you. We lost our 14-year old cat, Frasier last August and lost his 15-year old brother, Niles last Friday. They were and still are the loves of my life and my heart. I know how bad it hurts. Please know you're in our thoughts and keep posting. It helps so much to hear other people describe what they've been through so that you know you are not alone in what you feel.
