Steph
This is so sweet:

My four-year-old Godson was told that his Auntie Steph's dog died in early June. He was very serious about it at the time. He came up to me and said "I heard the news. About your dog. Luba." He proceeded to show me all of his picture books to get me laughing.

Fast forward to today, three and a half months later. Nobody has mentioned Luba to him since. He came up to me and handed me his etch a sketch. "This is for you to borrow. When you feel sad about Luba you can play with it to distract yourself and you will feel better." He then showed me how to use it. The kid is not only bright, but VERY sensitive. I had a very hard time not bursting into tears!

What a little sweetie!!!

Out of the mouth of babes! Yes, small children and animals--there's a beautiful simplicity about them. We adults always manage to make everything so complicated--we can learn so much from them. The kid sounds like he has a bright future. I'm glad you have him.

PS---Happy birthday Steph. I know your beautiful Luba sends you all her love from the Rainbow Bridge. Little Man sends you his best wishes too.

steph, I like your godson--he is very sensitive indeed!! he could very well grow up to be in a "caring" profession!...funny how some people are gifted in that way...smile.gif
& Happy Birthday!!

biggrin.gif HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPH!!!!!!!

God, kids are amazing, aren't they?????

For your lil' Godson to say that "you could borrow his etch-a-sketch.........to distract yourself and you will
feel better............

Wow, God Bless Him......... wub.gif

I'm not sure if I could have held back the tears.....

When I worked with children, in a pediatrician's office............so many of the terminally ill children had SO MUCH
MORE "EVERYTHING" THAN ME!!!!!!!!!
No question there.....

I'm sure that's one of the reasons that I do not have any "human children"............After seeing about 100+ kids
per day...........I guess that I thought; "they all were MY kids"!!!!!!!" wub.gif All of these "kids" are now ages 14 - 19!!!
How time flies!!!! unsure.gif

I was the Office Manager; but, more important, to the children, "I was their STICKER LADY"................. biggrin.gif Mind you, that "job" isn't just given to ANYONE...!!!! tongue.gif When I finish College
in a few years, I must put that down on my resume` as one of my IMPORTANT jobs!!!!

In fact, that was my favorite thing to do, and, in my eyes....it was also the most important JOB that I had!!............

To find the best and most unique stickers around, so that each child would leave my office with a little pack of their own "very, very special stickers", complete with their personal envelope with their name and tons of hearts drawn on
them, and other fun things..........I'm not a bad "Mickey Mouse" artist........ Ha-ha....help....Patti!!!! ohmy.gif

Big, Fat, Puffy stickers with lil' moveable eyes......... We had the best.... wub.gif The cost wasn't a factor!

Children REALLY ARE THE BEST................They are very, very sensitive.........and, they are extremely bright
and strong.....

I'll tell you.........so many young kids have a heck of a lot more guts than myself...... They're just so brave.
I honor them!!

I end this with, "Jim is correct"..........................

If anyone makes "things complicated, I am guilty"........... I'll try my best to keep things simple....."

Happy Birthday Sweet Steph!!!!!

wub.gif Goodnight & God Bless you Steph, and also, "HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY, MY FRIEND"!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much Jim, Denise, Patti and Karen.

Denise, you must have been wonderful working with those children!!

I think that I should play with the etch a sketch when I get home from work today. For the first time in a long time I've been crying about Luba at work when nobody is looking. I really miss my girl today. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif
