i had to force me to watch the whole clip, i was trembling and crying.

I recently decided to bite the bullet and watch a really long and tortuous video showing Chinese people skinning raccoons alive.....reasoned it was far less tortuous for ME than for THOSE poor, poor souls!!! There were also lines of dogs shown at the end, awaiting the same kind of fate, I assume, with one taking his/her final breaths. It was absolutely ghastly.....those raccoons were still alive and begging with their eyes into the camera long after their skin was all gone. Someone with great fortitude and passion to help them took that video, to show how brutal their treatment is. And I know they do the same things to dogs and cats as I've already read AAAALLLLLL about it elsewhere. So I know what you mean, Eva, about "trembling and crying".......I had to do an SRT trauma therapy session with myself after the one I watched, it was so painful. Those kinds of images never leave you.....

On a related note, a FORMER friend of mine had just sent me this disgusting pictorial "forward" about the open-air meat markets in China. It highlighted all manner of dead beings, including 3 of about 8 pics that highlighted dog meat, one with horse meat as well as goat meat and of course tons of sea creatures, insects, reptiles, etc. This FORMER friend had added her own comments to the "forward".....like "LOL!....anybody hungry?" ....and then excused the whole, sad idea by saying it was a "different culture". Of particular note, she DID have a dog herself.....'euthanized' last year, and I always suspected it was more because she wouldn't devote the time for her care, rather than a "had to" scenario, as she was always bit**ing about her dog's needs as she filled up her life with HER OWN activities. I was disgusted to say the least.

She KNOWS what I think and feel about animals and my views on their abuse. I was finally fed up with her B.S. (always claiming to be a real animal lover, yet not matching her actions with her phony words), so I sent back the link to that video on skinning animals alive in China and told her never to send me **** like that again when THIS is how they get to those markets. ....not that I ever intended on talking to her again after this "last straw" anyway. She came back accusing me of having "offended" HER previously last fall and claimed she didn't even SEE (all) the dog meat and other meat, only the "bugs"...yah, sure - sounds like "damage control" to me......and then proceeded to lay insult upon insult on me. When I checked my emails (since we'd actually been trying our best to avoid her for the most part, so there were few anyway), the ONLY thing I found from the fall was when I stuck up for myself and had simply told her the (other) "forward" she'd sent me then (just before Christmas) was "not helpful to me" (I took the advice of the "experts" in grief and used that phrase deliberately, as suggested) because there WAS no miracle for me and MY girl. This was the "forward" I'd mentioned here once, all about a dying girl's life being saved by a miracle at Christmas......when I'D LOST MY OWN GIRL! THIS is what she was sooooooo "offended" by, even though it INCREASED my pain tremendously at the time! Yet she could send me, of all people, such an insensitive, ignorant abomination such as this meat market pictorial, and LAUGH ABOUT IT, yet think nothing of her own behaviour! (she also owns a fur coat, and has threatened her H with "getting rid of" their own cat, due to his urinary problems, among many other instances....yah, great "animal lover", she is...) She also told me that it was hard to believe I love animals because of how I "treat people".....meaning HER, after years of tolerating her lies and deception and a whole host of other nasty attributes.....and like that even makes sense anyway. It's BECAUSE of people like her (and the ones who torture animals to make "products" for people like her!) that I love and respect animals more than many humans.

Needless to say, another friendship I've dumped into the trash where it belongs......too bad it took me so long! Some people will NEVER get it, never muster up any compassion for non-human beings, even in the face of the most horrendous evidence.

as katzen and Furkidlets' Mom say, the clip on youtube is so horrifyingly graphic that i asked Eva to be careful how the link was communicated. she did it the right way by not linking it to it but giving people the option to view it. i would warn anyone interested in seeing the clip she listed that it will be very shocking. i hope only a very small segment of people in China can tolerate this sort of activity.

You can sign a petition, or make a donation at AnimalSaviors.org, sorry I don't have the url at this moment, to end this unspeakable practice. Boycott all chinese products not just fur. Pray...but don't watch this video.

I think I will take the advice here and choose not to watch this video. Thank you again Eva for telling me not to watch it when you emailed me a few days ago. I appreciate your thoughtful concern about me.

In the meantime I will continue NOT to buy any products made in China for mulitple reasons. This kind of cruel practice just reinforces why I don't.

I did not view the video as well, since I find that kind of thing so revolting. How can people be so inhumane. China has got to have some people in it that find this disgusting. Oh but, yesterday I was reading how parents of the children who were killed in the earthquake were pulled away by the police for protesting the death of thier kids due to faulty buildings.

They dont even listen to thier own people. They are afraid of being arrested or maybe worse. But. I do agree that if more americans realized that alot of the products that are shipped here are made from animals such as dog or cat or even raccoon.

Then maybe a massive boycott would really make an impact on them financially. Money talks as the old saying goes.

I now look for labels that state where the product was made and it if says made in China I will not buy it. I dont care what it is. Count me in as well.
