My girlfriend send me an e-mail about Cocoa Mulch, manufactured by The Hershey Company. It is supposed to deter cats from going into your garden. Apparently, this mulch, if eaten can be toxic and cause death if eaten by a dog or cat. The site for more information is

I'm sorry, but I just tried the site I typed in, and it didn't go to it. Maybe, just try Snopes.com and put in information about Cocoa Mulch.

I did go to Snopes.com, and it did take me to a site about the mulch. It may have already been posted here about the mulch. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about it though, just in case, someone was un-aware of it. unsure.gif

there you go, i fixed the link for you. there are other good articles if you back up one folder on the site. pay attention, however, to the red and green balls...some og the stories are about urban legends. green is true, red is false.

I dont understand why a company such as this would sell a product that could be potentially lethal to animals. I would hate to think if a dog or cat happened to ingest this and died or become very ill.

They should pull this product before this happens. Or at least list the hazzards
