A friend of mine who knew how much I loved Precious and has been my friend for many years gave me such a wonderful present this year! I blubbed when I opened the box. It was a double picture frame; one side was a blowup of the picture you see on the left (all cat and no background) and a purple pawprint on a red heart with the words Precious Memories above and below the heart. (I will do a picture tonight and upload it to this thread so you can see how lovely it is!) This friend does stained glass and that's what it is. I thanked her endlessly for it. She told me that she was so sorry about Precious' death and she wanted me to have something I could cherish -- and she was so right!

Ahh finally a human with a gold heart....it was refreshing to hear that someone in the world outside of this haven has empathy for people who lose their pets. It seems that I myself and others here have been exposed to an array of humans that have no concept how to love. I am looking forward to your upload so I may see the picture biggrin.gif

What a sweet, thoughtful thing to do. That is a 'real' friend!

What a wonderful friend and wonderful touching gift. I too, look forward to seeing a picture of it when you're able. Its comforting to know that not everyone out there is among the "just a cat" variety and that some friends truly to empathize.

I have been trying to upload the picture for a half hour and the site won't let me so it did go to my Avatar if anyone wants to take a look!!

Oh,Lisa........It's just beautiful! What a thoughtful and loving friend you have. You are so lucky. It's nice to know there are still people in the world who have a caring heart and want to do something nice for a friend who's had a tough year.Cherish that friend and keep her close to your heart. She's a keeper! Thank you for sharing it with all of us.I will be thinking of you and all the others on christmas eve when we all do the candle lighting ceremony. Take care,Renee

THAT IS AWESOME! Keep her close. It seems some here have been shunned by all they know and can only come here for support. It is wonderful to have a real shoulder to cry on, real eyes to look into, and a heart that beats to the same tune as yours when it comes to understanding that our pets are not just that...they are a part of the essence of who we are and when they die..they take a piece of us with them we can NEVER get back sad.gif

Thank you!! I tried putting the picture as "my picture" and I think it worked, there it is! :-)
Karen is truly a great friend. She's not a cat person though, she's a dachsund mama! (Milo is his name and he is quite the dog!) She and I lost our mothers a little over a year apart so we share a lot in common. She knew how much I loved Precious and wanted to do her own tribute to him, and she did. I can't thank her enough! I would try and do the same if something happened to Milo, though I don't have her gift at creating stained glass art.

Dear Lisa:

What a thoughtful friend you have in Karen wub.gif You are very sweet, too, so I'm sure she is extremely grateful to have you as a friend as well.

She made you a very BEAUTIFUL gift, in tribute of your beloved boy, Precious wub.gif I love that it is something she made with her own hands -- it was made out of love, and you will have it forever.

Peace & Love,
Denise

Lisa,

I couldn't seem to find or view your pic, but what a gem of a friend you have to do such a sweet and caring thing for you.

Friends like that are so few and far between. Karen may live two states away but we keep in touch several times a week. I've always told her she should take that talent for stained glass and turn it into something profitable...and I meant making money off it! I never dreamed she's take that the other way. I'm still thanking her for it.
Also, a close friend who lives near me gave me a gorgeous pin (for Christmas) that resembles Precious and had his birth and death dates engraved on the back. I wear it on everything!!
