I'd like to share something I just found on George Anderson's website, regarding animals.
George is considered the world's best medium and among other things, this is what the souls he's brought through have had to say about their place on the earth. They call them the "eyes of God" here. The souls say animals are a source of eternal light and love on the earth - "the closest that we will ever come to the Infinite Light on the earth"....and that more people don't realize this because humans think they have power over them. Of particular importance, I thought, was that George said he's warned people in his books and in seminars that the "hereafter considers cruelty to animals much worse an offense than cruelty to another human being." The love and light they exude is "cherished" by the Infinite Light.
THIS is what I've always known in the deepest core of my being and is part and parcel of why missing Nissa and Sabin being here ( and my budgies ), physically, is so excruciating. Not for one day did I ever take their presence for granted and why I knew, w/o a doubt, how ultimately important their lives with me were. It's just SO nice to see the world's top medium ( who's done over a million readings for people in his 40 years of this work ) agrees! Btw, I don't know if he ever gets actual animals coming through as the main focus of his readings, AND he's very $$$$ at $1200 U.S./reading for phone consults ( and in-person readings for 1-2 people in attendance; more $$ for more than 1-2 ). I haven't looked yet, but I also imagine he probably has to book at LEAST a year down the line.

I completely believe that. I mentioned something like this in another post a couple weeks ago. I always believed that God put animals here with us to help judge us when the time comes and I truly believe that those that abuse animals will have to answer for it some day.

I was driving into work this morning thinking about this very subject. Sometimes abuse happens out of ignorance. But compassionate people learn a serious life lesson from a mistake of this nature. They suffer greatly over their misdeeds, and vow not to ever repeat this behaviour. For those people, "hereafter" is every day following an ignorant mistake.
This lack of compassion doesn't make a good case for continuation of the human race, but I'm not in charge here. There is such purity in how our animal companions relate to us so I agree with George Anderson's statement about the severity of intentional abuse to an animal.
It is frightening is that there are people who think they won't ever have to answer for intentionally abusing an animal, and are within their "rights" to do so because they are superior to other living beings.

I'm currently reading Lessons From The Light and animals are featured throughout the book (so far; I'm only almost halfway through). His insights have been so helpful and so comforting! Allison DuBois says a lot about animals on the other side in her new book The Dead Never Leave Us. She's a very good medium and I am a big fan of the show! (I hope they do an episode on animals, that would be nice and so helpful to many of us with recent losses.)

Some animals are put here for food/clothing, that I get. Others are here to help us work but there are those that are here to help us live. I thnink God gives us our fur babies to teach us compassion, love and an appreciation for life. I believe they are his gifts to us and how we treat them will reflect on our judgement in the next life. For those of us who believe in heaven, if we are bound for it we will be there with our babies. Those poor pets who's owners won't make it will live with God and angels for eternity. I will say this, any pets who's owners don't make it to heaven can always come stay with me and my two babies one day. They would'nt mind the extra company. I personally can't stand animal abusers. I say let the abusers try to abuse an animal who can defend itself, like a lion or grizzly bear. Of couse I should'nt say that because they will stand and face judgement for it.

No, I hadn't heard about that one...though I don't really need, nor could stand right now, to see it to know it's true. That's why I've been a vegetarian for about 10 years now ( tho I have to honestly but guiltily admit to going back to eating some flesh when I'm heavily grieving or severely depressed....then I revert again later ), shop as cruelty-free as possible, and let others know as often as I can about how disgusting I find these practises. It's also another reason I try to avoid using drugs ( aside from the health concerns with pharmaceuticals ), as they are most often tested on poor animals, and in the most disgusting ways, like w/o pain relief being supplied.
I was also totally incensed when my local vet, of her own accord, sent a donation in Sabin's 'honour' to a vet university's animal research section instead of sending me harmless flowers. I know what they do to perfectly healthy animals, in the name of science and simply can't condone that, even if it's to 'save' an animal of mine. I want at all times possible to be part of the solution, not part of the problem/abuse, when it comes to the sanc***y of other living creatures. So when Nissa passed, I asked my H to call the clinic to make sure THIS time they wouldn't make another animal suffer in 'honour' of my girl! To me, that's not honouring what they stood for and taught me at ALL.
I believe what Chief Seattle once said ~ that what we do to animals, we do to ourselves...but too many people still don't want to see that sacred connection that we have to not only them, but the entire planet and even universe. But w/o this realization, animal abuse will NEVER end on any front. For myself, I will continue to honour my kidlets by the consumer choices I make on animals' behalf. For all the huge love they gave me, it's the least I can do.
