Poor Roo.
I'm sorry. I hope you find something that will comfort him. They must have been very close too.

Poor Roo, how totally awful! Its hard enough for us to understand death. Keep holding that baby. Hopefully his pain will ease soon.

popular research shows that pet companions do grieve the loss, most do recover quickly (more quickly than their owners). often, the remaining pet takes cues from the owners and feels the "vibe." best bet? give roo lots of extra attention, and show him he is loved despite the recent tragedy.

When my 14 month old Siamese cat was hit, I was devastated and so was my 20 year old cat Angel. She would wander the house yowling in this tortored high pitched meow. Poor little ones, they grieve too.

I'm dealing with the same situation. My little Sam is depressed and very lost without his Mom, who obviously has been there all his life.
It's very sad to see.
