First, a little background...
In Febuary of 2003, i went out to fetch the garbage can as i did every tuesday. Except this time, there was a small orange and white female cat in our driveway. Completely sweet, my mom fell in love with her immediately. She was dubbed Princess due to her royal attitude

It was soon after that we began to see another orange and white cat prowling the neighborhood. This cat was almost identical to Princess, except much thinner. We initally thought this cat was a male as our attempts to befriend were mostly ignored. Then one fateful day, the thin kitty approached me mewing softly. While i was petting, i realized that she was a she and a nursing mother. I asked her to take me to her kittens, which she suprislingly did.
She took me to a house not far from mine where 4 kittens scampered and played. That was, until they saw me. The man that lived at the house had come out telling me that she had been there for a couple of months, but he was moving soon and could not help them. So, it was then when i decided to adopt them all. The man informed me that there used to be a fifth one, but he hadnt seen it in a long time.
We moved the kittens and mom to our house and reveled in our new kitty family. Angel (the mom) and the kittens (Loki, Sarge, Puff and Sara) warmed up to us quickly. Times were good

One day, as i went out to change thier water, i found a tiny white furball ravenously eating the dry food i had left. AHA! Amazingly, the fifth kitten had traveled to our house and of course we welcomed him with open arms. He was in bad shape, ear mites, fleas, worms...you name it, he had it. He was extremely underwieght and malnourished. After two days of nonstop cooing to him, he finally allowed me to hold him. At the moment, Cotton Ball is happily purring in my lap as i type this (not a small feat, as he has grown considerably!!!!!!)
Alas, two days ago, my mother awoke me with "I can't find Puff, she hasn't come in to eat yet" Now, i knew right away something was terribly wrong. Puff was ALWAYS the first in for breakfast...I hurriedly dressed and set out to find her.
I talked to all of my neighbors and no one had seen her. Except for the fellow who had moved into the house they were born. He had seen Puff on the road and pointed me toward her body. She had been hit by a car... Mere words cannot express how sad i am...
My mother and i buried her and my father made a marker for her grave. I just got back from wandering the neighborhood in search of flowers...
I'm not sure if the others realize she's gone, but i'm holding on to them a little tighter when i hug them now.
Rest in Peace P-Kitty
I love you and always will
