This is a tribute to my darling Zody who passed two years ago todayat age 16 1/2. Never a day has gone by when I haven't thought of him or missed him.

Midnight Zodiac was his registered name but to me he was always Zody. I can’t describe in mere words what this special member of my family meant to me. He exuded strength and stability and protectiveness.

Zody was a Himalayan hybrid cat; he was big, black and furry. He was heavy boned with huge orange eyes, vampire fangs and a kinky tail that curled over his back like a corkscrew. He was my friend, my love, and the calm soothing presence in my house. He slept on the bed every night for almost 16 ½ years. Through all of life’s triumphs and turbulent times he was there. He never judged, he didn’t hold grudges (at least not for long) and he never criticized. His love was pure; always unconditional, he loved me for who I am and I reciprocated. Whenever I picked him up his paws came around my neck as if he was giving me a hug and his whiskers tickled my neck as he purred loudly into my ear. When I came home he would run to the door to greet me with loud purrs and a big open red mouth.

At night Zody would come to me walking up the length of my body, purring loudly as he went to my hand and gently bit me and held my hand in his teeth, then he lay down while licking my hand. It was his way of saying I'm here and I love you.

I love you too Zody whereever you are and I will always miss you. Three days ago Spicey joined you, even though she was always batting you over the head if you accidentally bumped her, she missed you a lot when you were gone. Take care of her until someday our spirits can all be together again.

Aw, your Zody was a beauty! Two years -- such a long time to miss someone so much, isn't it? To miss them and long to see them each and every single day . . . And I am so sorry you have lost another baby. It will be a happy, happy day when we all get to see our babies once again.

Zody was a handsome fellow! I had a beautiful white persian kitty named Dolly...her registered name was Sugar Dolly of Pusay. She was my friend and my companion for 16 1/2 years, too. I lost her 10 years ago to mammary cancer, and I have to say I still miss her. And, I can still remember what her little kisses felt like in the middle of the night.

You and Zody are in my thoughts on his 2 year anniversary.

Zody my love, last Thursday would have been your 20th birthday.
I miss you so much because I loved you so much. This year in August it will have been four years - a long time but the love I feel will never cease.
A chin scratch, nose rub and lots of cuddles for you wherever you are.

Zody had gorgeous eyes, so dramatic. He was lucky to be a part of your life and you in his.

Zody my sweet, it has now been four years since I was forced to say goodbye to you. I miss you always and I love you always. I can still feel your furry arms around my neck and your legs around my waist and your loving purrs in my ear.
