Because Romeo is the pet which I lost, he has received most of the time when I talk on this board. I want to honor my other babies because they are worthy and I don't want to have to honor them after it's already too late:
First is Elvis, 13 yrs. old:

Nice to meet them!
How did they all cope with Romeo's death? Have they adjusted ok?

Steve,
Cool pictures thanks for sharing. I've thought about the same thing too. Although Gandalf is missing I still have furbabies at home. I have two 1 year old sibling kitties named Sabrina and Max and a 4 year old black lab/sharpei mix named Thor. I'll have to post pictures of them.
If I've learned one thing from the loss of my pets and this forum it would be to cherish every moment you have with your furbabies.
Hugs,
Dawn

Thanks for sharing those. I have thought about doing the same thing with Bailey.

Steve,
Great names for your babies and they are such cuties. Thanks for reminding us all that our little ones who are still here deserve some "air time." I am trying to enjoy every minute I have with my girls because you never know how long they'll be here. When I lost my Allie at 2 yrs. old it was so shocking, but it made me realize how fragile life really is and has made me appreciate my little ones even more, and enjoy their presence to the fullest.
Thanks,
Jenny
P.S. My Norah sometimes lifts her upper lip and we call it her "Elvis face."

Dawn,
Unfortunately that was the only good to come out of Romeo's death. It taught me to cherish every minute I have with them. Romeo had been my favorite and Juliet didn't get nearly the attention she deserved, partially because as I said, Romeo was the favorite, but also because Romeo wouldn't let her get near me, I belonged to him.
Steph,
As far as Elvis was concerned, he could care less. He was the first and everyone else is just competition. Valentino didn't join my family until about 3 months after Romeo died, but I can tell you Elvis was none too pleased with that. Alas, Elvis is a lover not a fighter, so I frequently find Valentino sleeping in Elvis's bed and Elvis sleeping on the floor, god forbid he should get in the same bed as Tino. Juliet wasn't too bad after Romeo died. Without going into a big long story, before I realized Romeo was dead I had brought him home from the vet and Juliet had a chance to sniff him. I don't know if that helped or not but maybe it did. Of course she was happy to have me to herself but she did a lot of talking as well for a couple months. I bought some cat pheremones to minimize stress and I don't know if it helped or not but I like to think it did. Romeo and her weren't buddies. They played and fought but never cuddled together, so the impact on her was probably less than it would be on some other cats who have close relationships with one another.
Jazzygirl,
I wish I had a picture of Elvis as a puppy to show you before he turned white in the face. He really looked like an Elvis then. Somehow the name seemed to fit. Plus it was easier to call out than something like Amadeus.

I've read different reports regarding whether sniffing or viewing a deceased furbaby companion has any impact on the surviving pet. Some say it helps, some say it has no effect on them, but I've never heard of an adverse reaction to it. Interesting about the cat pheremones.
I too have come to the realisation that the one good thing to come of Luba's sudden passing is an accute awareness of how precious life is, and to enjoy every moment with my Falkor.
