My dear sweet calvin walvin.

i am so sad at losing you. after almost sixteen years, there is now an empty hole in my heart that you use to fill.

i miss your sweet face, the way you snuggled into my neck when you wanted loving, how you purred so loudly when i would whisper how much i loved you into your ear.
i miss you jumping up on the sink to drink out of the faucet, and that daddy always turned on the water even though i didn't want you up there.
i miss how you would retrieve the ring off the milk container. i never have seen another cat that would play fetch! i miss hearing the little bell on your toys as you batted them around the house.
i miss how you would run to me when zeke was trying to get you to play. i don't blame you, his 86 lbs to your 13 was a little intimidating!

but most of all, i miss your love. you were always MY kitty. no one else ever got the special love you gave to me. daddy loved you very much, and especially at the end when he kept you in his lap almost all the time. but you were my kitty way before he was around, and i know you loved me with all your heart. i loved you with all of mine, and will always.....

be free, sweet boy. be happy and i will see you again someday!
hugs,
mommy

What a beautiful and deserving tribute! Don't you just love those tabbies? Two of our remaining purr-paws are tabbies. Emma was adopted from the Humane Society in Ottawa in December 2000. The staff at the shelter shared with me the story of why all tabbies have an "M" on their forehead.
It seems that when Jesus was born, as he lay in the manger, he was fretting and crying. As well as being surrounded by humans, there were many animals there as well as a little tabby . This kitty would have looked at Mary and with a nod from her, he jumped up into the manger and lay down next to the babe. The tabby started purring and before you know it, the baby was comforted and fell asleep. Mary then picked up the kitty and kissed him on the forehead, and that is why to this day, all tabbies have that "M" on their forehead.
I am sure that Calvin has already met Miss Mew at the bridge, she was a 21 + year old tabby that we found as a stray many, many moons ago.
Calvin's Mom, you are in my thoughts, take care.

Such a beautiful tribute to your dear Calvin and well deserved. He was such a beautiful and loving cat from the way you have described him. How wonderful that he was still playful and playing with toys even at 16.

My little Ellie who died in December was a grey tabby, too. With identical markings to your Calvin and the little M on her forehead (what a beautiful story). She had gold coloured hair on her tummy though. She only lived till 15 months when she was struck by a car. I know she would have welcomed Calvin to Rainbows Bridge she loved all other cats and would nestle up next to them whenever she got the chance.

I am sure they are playing happily together along with all the other furbabies who are waiting for us.

My thoughts are very much with you, and I hope your memories of your beautiful boy warm your heart at this sad time.

Bless dear Calvin.

with love

I am so glad to hear of all the love you had for your baby Calvin and what a wonderful playful personality he had and all the love he gave to you. They do leave a tremendous hole in our hearts and even though others have a part in our hearts none can ever fill that hole up. I am so sorry he is no longer with you.

Dear Stacy,

What a beautiful, beautiful tribute to Calvin. He was such a handsome fellow.

I've thought about how he stayed with you to help support you through your chemo treatments. What a very special kitty, and what a very special bond you both had.

You're in my thoughts,

dear sweet calvin.
i can't believe it's been a week since we said goodbye. today i brought you home with me. i have you next to a picture in the bedroom and i lit a candle for you. i miss you so very much. even though zeke and hobbs are still here, the house seems strangely empty. who knew a little 12 pound cat could fill up so much space! must be all the love you gave us for so many years.

i love you and miss you! zeke has been looking for you! he misses his brother!

Hi Stacy,

What a beautiful tribute to a dear friend. Calvin was so special to you....I know he is proud of your heartfelt rememberance of him.....you both were so very blessed to share each other's lives.

He will continue to live in your heart, Stacy, and you can always find him there when you need him the most. What a special little fellow he was for staying with you and giving you such comfort during your illness.

It hurts so much when we lose our little buddies, but I don't think any of us would trade the time we had with them for anything in the world. I wish you and Calvin could have had many more happy years together, but I know you'll always cherish the sixteen wonderful years you did have. Thanks for sharing the memories. The pic of Zeke and Calvin is very heartwarming......they were best buddies in every sense of the word. I'll continue to send positive thoughts your way.

Take care,
__Jim
