I had to put my sweet cat PJ to sleep last night after the vet told me there was no hope for him to recover. The hardest part is he wasn't even sick in the morning when I left for work and when I came home it was too late. This is the first pet I have ever lost and I had no idea it would hurt so much. I just can't stop crying and I expect to see him come around the corner at any minute. I miss him so much and don't know how to let people know how much it hurts without feeling silly. Anyhow, he was a wonderful cat and I will always cherish the years I had with him.

I am very sorry to hear that you had to lose such a wonderful furbaby. Please know that it is okay to cry and feel the loss no matter what anyone thinks. My husband doesn't understand why I miss my boy so much. These special furbabies mean the world to us. They are a part of our everyday lives. I do want you to know that your wonderful furbaby is at the Rainbow Bridge with all the special furbabies that have passed on. Again, it is okay to feel this loss because it is a hole in your life and right now it hurts but with time the hurt will be less and you will be filled with the wonderful memories you two shared. The people here are a very caring and understanding bunch and all everyone wants here is to help heal from the same hurt you have now. I am very sorry and hopefully you will come and visit often because these people here at LS understand and care. You are in my thoughts, Charlotte. All I can say is that it hurts now and it will get better!

Dear Charlotte,

I am very sorry that you lost your sweet PJ. Yes, it does hurt so much. You're right -some people will think you are silly to feel as strongly as you do, but not the people here..............They're the best, most kind and caring people in the world.

Again, my sympathy to you on the loss of PJ.

Sincerely,

Lynn

You can count on us not to think you are silly for missing and crying for your little boy PJ Our babies are so much a part of us and although the pain will lessen and the tears wont fall as often we will never "Get over it" as so many people out side of LS think we should. Even when my mother passed away that was a phrase I have come to hate. Your baby will be in your heart forever, come and tell us all about him.

I had to have my girl kitty Summer put to sleep 2 yrs ago, I had her almost 17 yrs until she started having problems with her thyroid. I cannot remember a time in my life when she wasn't there. She was my comforter and I still miss her very much. Each relationship I have had with each of my furbabies have been unique and special, the grieving for them is very hard because they mattered so much to us. I recently lost my job because I could not be to work the day they put my Moose down, so they let me go, well that was okay cause quiet frankly I could not have worked for about 6-8 weeks. Not everyone has the ability to love thier pets, I think we are the special ones, and it is a gift that has been given to us. Coming here helped me make it through. Pamela

Dear Charlotte,

My thoughts are with you. Mourn for as long as you wish. The fact that you recognize how important that PJ was to your life will serve as a lasting testament to his memory and the love that not only you shared with him, but for the love that he shared with you.
