Our Buddy

We lost our beautiful and very much loved border collie on July 2, 2005. His name was Buddy. While our family was in town he tragically got his head stuck in a plastic jug that was in the laundry room. My 12 year old son found him dead when we came home. It was his dog, but I loved him as if he was mine. The jug should never have been there, his death should never have happened! He was only 3 ½ years old! It was hard to see my son in so much pain that I didn’t notice my own until two days later. Now the guilt and hurt are overwhelming! One of my two sons left the jug there and it just happened…why?? I can’t stop crying. I go to bed at night thinking about Buddy being gone. I wake up in the morning and my first thought is like a brick hitting me in the head… ”Buddy is gone!” He had the most energetic and fun personality. He had one blue eye that would reach into the deepest part of your heart when he looked at you. I miss that look. He was too young! I can't believe his life was so short and was taken from him when it shouldn't have been!
