Suddenly Gone

I lost my baby Mack Friday night because of a careless accident. We have just moved into a new home, and an electrician came to do some work outside and left our gate open. I let Mack out as usual when I came home from work, not thinking to check. He was hit by a car. He was still warm when I found him. I can't stop thinking about if I had only turned right first instead of left, and how frightened he must have been.
He was a only a year and a half old, and the happiest Scotty you would ever know. I can't believe how much this hurts.
I've had to put 2 Scotties down in the last 5 years, but they were both 14 years old, and I had time to prepare. This has hit me so hard.
