Allways the first to greet me when I came home, allways purring, often bringing me gifts (kitty catch-of-the-day) When we got our first dog (daushchund) he let us know exactly what he thought of this strange four footed barking machine. Yet later on we'd constantly catch the 2 cuddled up toghether on the couch...

We recieved the 'news' last night... Dover has aggresive cancer.

Dover my cat, my friend, even though my heart aches I am at peace for I know you had a full life. Go well my furry friend

Loosing A Friend...

Dover... old buddy old pal.. You came into my life as a furry white fluff ball. He was never the sharpest pencil in the box but his somewhat slow manner of being, stole everybody's heart. My wife and I really love our pets as we are newlyweds and do not have children yet. Working from home I am fortunate to spend a lot of time with my pets but ol Dover just had that little edge over the others (2 dauschhunds, 3 cats) His favorite spot was on the desk next to me, chasing the computer mouse as a kitten is but one of the fond memories of my friend.

Dover was diagnosed with cancer last night and to be honest, my world is shattered. As we are preparing our goodbye's to our beloved pet and friend I am at a loss as how to cope with the pain. We live in South Africa and as the saying goes - Africa is not for sissies and being a man here is associated with being tough and seldom showing emotions. I simply refuse to just let it go without showing emotion. Cowboys don’t cry? I am not a cowboy... just a man who really loves his cat and with no one to turn to in my moment of sadness. Thanks for the opportunity. Dover... old pal - I'm really going to miss you my friend
