Cancer, so much of it...... Options

I am still shocked at all the furbabies that have had to deal with cancer. Has it always been this way? I just spoke to a friend she told me they had just lost thier Rot to cancer.....they wanted to get a Boxer but the vet told them that that type of dog is prone to cancer. Do you think it is in our enviorment? the food? just so much of the ugly diease around...makes me wonder.Pamela

I don't know what it is, but it sure is odd, I think the envrioment is all screwed up to be honest. It is sad when you think about the amount of people and pets that come down with cancer it seems as if everyone is touched by this nasty disease. God Bless the man or woman who finds a cure! I know it has to be out there somewhere.

Hope you are having an ok day, mine has been pure crud today, just one of those haunting days for me, there was a black tshirt on the floor in the closet and my dumb butt actually for a second started to rejoice thinking it was Ebony! Oh how cruel the mind can be at times. Thinking of you and your moosie! and missing my dear Ebony!

I think the sad thing is, that we humans are slowly creating our own demise. We want too much, too soon, too now. We create disease, discomfort, hate, anger, fear, hunger and not enough, happiness, peace, love and contact with each other.

Hence a pet, with their unconditional, non-judgemental view on life = other than where the next meal comes from - is just so priceless.

I'm thinking cancer, like alot of other diseases are genetically breed from one generation to another to another and it keeps going unitl it's in their DNA. I don't know? Sound logical? I'm no scienctist. But sounds a valid theory.

Hi Pamela, I just don't know why even the animals get it but I hate it it sucks. The miniature schnauzer used to live for an average of 15 years. Snookie will be 11 in Feb. and her life will be cut short by this hideous disease that is eating away at her beautiful body. It just kills my soul that I can do nothing for her but love her and make her as comfortable as I can. Children, babies, animals, young and old it attacks them all. I used to think I could nurture anything or anybody back to health but now I feel I am nothing, can do nothing and it hurts.

My Snookie Cookie looks like a big healthy girl but often times she gets to where she just lays around and can't eat much if any. Other times you would never know the cancer is eating away at her body. She just got a haircut a couple of days ago and she was mad at me for leaving her. When she came back home she would not even look at me and after I begged her not to be mad she turned, stuck those ears up and barked at me. I guess she was telling me off for leaving her alone. She is used to me being with her all the time and hates it if I am away for even one hour, but then I hate to be away from her too.
