My boy has been gone for a month and even though I grieve, I feel so blessed to have known him and to have had the honor of taking care of him, although it seemed at most times he was taking care of me.In his death I am surprised to have found a little peace in my own life, as if that is why he was sent here to me.He was an old soul, with wondrous trusting eyes, and I am so humbled that he never showed just how in trouble he was up until the day he died. I will never know the likes of him again, and I somehow do not fear death itself, as I know he will be there waiting for me as he did here.I try to not feel sorry for myself and I hope others can feel the same for theirs ,for I'm sure that is not what they would have wanted for us.God bless you Monty and thank you for the honor of being my friend.

I'm so sorry that you lost your friend. What a moving photo of him that is.
My dog, was the same: she did not let me know how poorly she was doing until the end, and by that time it was too late. Even though I rushed her to the vet's, she was gone in less than 48 hours. We are very honoured to have had them in our lives. -------------------- "My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today."

Oh Monty is absolutely gorgeous and what a wonderful way to feel about not fearing death with him wating for you on the other side. It seems our babies do take on the role of taking care of us too and they ask for so little. Come and tell us more about your little boy.

Great tribute to a wonderful friend. I'm certain he feels the same about you. You were both incredibly lucky to have each other.

He had cancer of the Liver, lungs and spleen,an irregular heart beat, kidney failure, and was chasing his brother around three days before he died.I had him for 12 years and would gladly give years off my life in order for him too still be here with me now.I always knew that one day he would be gone and you try to prepare for that day, but once that day is upon you, only that day really matters and all the preparation means nothing.I thank God for his younger brother who is helping me get through this, although I never ever really will.I have my moments, but now mostly I smile with the memories that he is given me.Thanks to all for your thoughts.
