My dog Sam was put to sleep on 22 August 2004 he was 12 years old and had liver disease. I still cry most days as I miss him so much, he was with me every day for the whole 12 years and its like losing my right arm. He was the only living creature who showed me total devotion. If ever I was unhappy I could confide in him and he gave me so much comfort. I have another dog who is six years old called Sheba but she is not as affectionate and doesn't demand attention like Sam did. Sam thought he was a human and my partner, as he was always jealous if my husband sat next to me. On the day he died I took Sheba for a walk in the park and when I looked up there was a huge cloud like a dog running across the sky. I believe this was Sam telling me he was in heaven and that we'd meet again. Goodnight my handsome prince, til we meet again. *********

Hello I am so sorry that you lost you little Sam and how wonderful that you saw a dog in the clouds to let you know he is alright. That must have been a wonderful comfort to you. Our babies do love us like no other and I am so glad we will be with them again someday.
Ann -------------------- My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart. Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure.
