Thank you all so much for your words of comfort. My sweet little girl is getting worse by the minute. Sometimes her body is cold and other times she has a fever she has not gone to the bathroom in 9 hours. She will not drink anything now, just lays and stares and does not respond while we are touching her.

My family now sees she is failing by the minute. If she is no better in the late afternoon my next to oldest daughter is going to go with me to the vets. I knew when I became a member it did not look very good for Snookie but I never thought it would be this soon. I have tried to hold back the tears like one member told me to but I have failed, my heart is shattered like glass.

My husband cried so hard and says he just can not go with us that he can not stand it. If he thinks he can not then I have to respect that it is to hard for him. But I must hold my precious little girl in my arms and comfort her to the end, she would do that for me.
Ann

My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart.
Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

awwww, I am so sorry to hear this too, Ann. I stayed with my Jakeybug too when he had to go -- I think just accepting the fact that it is time is the hardest part. So extremely hard.

My heart goes out to you, snookie is adorable.

Hi Ann:

I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours at this very, very difficult
time in your lives....... sad.gif

I'm sorry that I haven't "been on the boards lately because I've been ill", but I do remember clearly that
you answered a post of mine when I asked for help with regard to our sweet, Ms. Lucy - who has diabetes
and asthma.

I am here now, whenever you need to talk.....you are more than welcome to PM or e-mail me.... I would
be more than happy to do anything I can to help you!!!

Your darling Snookie Cookie wub.gif is such a dear.........so precious.... There is no question; I can tell that she is VERY, VERY MUCH LOVED.....

And, by looking at her sweet face, and into her eyes, I can easily see that she loves you and her family soooooooo
very much!!!!
She is a very special, wonderful little baby girl. wub.gif

I can tell by your letter that you will be up all evening long with your sweet Snookie, Ann. I wish I was close by to
give you a great big, warm hug, (((((((((((((((Ann))))))))))))))).....

Your quote:
QUOTE
But I must hold my precious little girl in my arms and comfort her to the end, she would do
that for me.

And, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.............YES, SHE WOULD DO THAT FOR YOU!

I remember the night before our sweet Ernestine was put to sleep on February 7, 2004 @ noon-time..... I did stay
up with her. She was having trouble going to the bathroom, and she'd continue with her violent retching.... I
could only stay awake & be with her to be of some comfort.....

And, I prayed very, very hard that our Dear Lord would please take her... She was suffering so. In fact, I had said this prayer for a couple of weeks.
But, God wasn't calling her home. Ben and I were going to have to help her get to Rainbow's Bridge.

She was two months shy of 20 years old, Ann........and, I had had her since she was 6 weeks old. I "bought her" for
$10.00 at age 23, and she was put to sleep on 2/7/2004.

I thank God sooooooo much for Lightning-Strike, because I didn't know where to go/what to do with myself, after
she was put to sleep......
I couldn't sleep, eat, shower...........had massive headaches.... The list continues on.

I had a very, very special place to come to............to write out my feelings........Lots of times, I'd just keep rambling
on & on ----
I never thought I was making sense........but, so many wonderful people here answered my posts.

EVERYONE HERE WHO HAS LOVED & LOST, UNDERSTOOD MY POSTS.... I will ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL!!!

I have said what I am about to say lots of times, BUT.........AT A TIME WHEN I WAS SUFFERING OVER THE LOSS OF OUR
SWEET ERNIE-BIRD......
Absolutely NOTHING made sense to me, Ann.

One poster, who I will ALWAYS AND FOREVER BE GRATEFUL TO, SAID TO ME........

"DENISE, YOU TOOK ON ERNESTINE'S PAIN SO THAT SHE COULD FINALLY BE WITHOUT PAIN!

Ben and I were able to make the decision to LOVE OUR SWEET GIRL ENOUGH TO LET HER GO TO RAINBOW'S
BRIDGE......

That one statement helped me more than anyone COULD EVER POSSIBLY KNOW.... And, that one sentence is
quoted a lot around here, because it does make sense.

It's like 1:10am where I am right now, and I can just picture you holding your beloved Snookie lovingly in your arms,
and my thoughts and prayers are with you...

I've been reading your posts, and I see that your son's little furdog went to the Bridge just recently.... I am so sorry
for that too, but know that there is NO MORE PAIN OVER THERE.......

Goodnight and God Bless you, Ann....
Please, do write if you want someone to talk with.... Okay???

Love, Denise

Ann,
I am so, so, so, so sorry. I am praying for Snookie and for you all. If it does come to the worst, please do remember to look into Snookie's eyes as you tell her how much you love her. Take another lock of her hair, and maybe her little pawprint. Hold her tight. I know how difficult it is, but I hope you will be able to be there with her. Please take someone with you who you can depend on to be strong for you and for Snookie.

I pray that today won't be the day and that you will still have more time with your baby girl. Please give her kisses for all of us.
Love,
Marcia

Dear Ann,

My prayers are with you now. Snookie will go to a much better place and feel nothing but love. It will be the hardest thing you will do. Your doing this because you love Snookie and you are willing to take on the pain so she can be free of it. Remember she will still be with you in spirit and you will see each other again.

My prayers are with you,
Vicki

Dear Ann,
I'm so sorry for you. The choice you are faced with is such a hard one. I know it broke my heart when I had to make that call to the vet for Shiloh. I just wish your vet could come to your house. My vet came to the house for Shiloh...it was more comfortable for all of us.

Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Kathleen

Ann,

I just started reading about Snookie yesterday.

I am so very sorry. I know those words aren't really any comfort - but please know there's a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as I'm typing this.

You know this will be one of the hardest things you'll have to do. And, we do it because we love our babies with all of our hearts.

If Snookie must leave today, even though it may not mean much right now, you know she's no longer in pain or sick - Snookie will be in a much, much better place.

Hold on tight to Snookie and to us. We are here for you. We've been through this. We love you and will do anything we can for you.

Love,
Jan

My precious Snookie is a little better today so I did not take her to be put to sleep. She ate a few bites of food and has been drinking water. She was able to go out and go to the bathroom without me holding her up.

Thank you so much for your prayers and being such caring friends. I fell asleep with my little girl in my arms and when I woke up she was sitting up looking at me with love in her eyes. I just hope she gets better, now it makes me even more afraid to decide when the time is right to put her to sleep.

Oh Ann - I'm glad to hear Snookie's doing a little better. You've been in my thoughts all day.

I have a 14 year old min. schnauzer, named Molly, and 2 weeks ago I thought she was dying - I rushed her to the vet and it turns out she was having a bout of pancreatitis. My vet almost walks on water - he made my baby better.

I was just bathing Molly a few minutes ago and I was thinking of you and Snookie and wondering how things were going.

I'm so glad Snookie's doing better.

Please give her a kiss for me!

Love,
Jan

wub.gif Hi Ann & Snookie:

It was sooooooooooooooo wonderful to read that you fell asleep with lil' Snookie in your arms, and when you awoke,
there was your sweet little girl, looking at her mommy, with her beautiful dark eyes..... wub.gif

Things do sound a bit more positive, don't they?? Snookie ate some food, drank some water............and, went to the
bathroom without your aide.

Thank you God!!!!! biggrin.gif

God Bless you & your sweet little Snookie, Ann........
All of us..............we are all here for you........ rolleyes.gif

Once you "join" Lightning-Strike, you've got yourself another family for life........ wub.gif

Love,
Denise, Ben, Ms. Lucy and Mr. Yoster xo

Ann,

I went through lots of emotions, reading your posts and the loving replies from others.

I can just imagine how very relieved you are that Snookie is there with you still!!!! I was so touched by your mention of the nap you and she took. wub.gif

You and Snookie are in my prayers!!

Kathy

P.S. When the time does come, which I hope is a long time from now, I really like what everyone said. Vickie summed it up well: "Snookie will go to a much better place and feel nothing but love. It will be the hardest thing you will do. Your doing this because you love Snookie and you are willing to take on the pain so she can be free of it. Remember she will still be with you in spirit and you will see each other again." And we'll be there for you through it all.

MUCH LOVE TO YOU AND SNOOKIE! wub.gif
