Dear Henry-

It's 5 months today. I wish it was not a gloomy rainy Saturday-- all I can seem to do is think about the last day you were here. I love you.

It's so hard.

Oh Henry's mom.

My heart goes out to you on the loss of your beautiful Henry. Yes, a dreary day does cause our spirits to sag, but every day, sunshine or rain, is a sad day when we think about the loving animal who was our companion for just a while. No matter what others say, I KNOW there is a Perfect World to which animals as well as people go when they leave this earth. And our precious babies are now spirits, who can be right beside us just like they were before. The only difference is that we cannot sense them: see them, hear them, smell then, hug them, play with them. And somehow humans have declared that if we cannot sense something it doesn't exist. Nothing could be farther than the truth. Henry is right where he always was - by your side. He is still guiding your steps, protecting you, and most important, loving you and feeling your love. Some people get glimpses of their departed animals - I never have. But that hasn't weakening my belief, my KNOWLEDGE, that the spirits of my two beautiful labs, Gretta (the kindest chocolate lab who ever lived) and Rufus (my Big Black Dog - a half black lab/half Newfie) are with me and are giving me the courage to get through their loss and the loss this spring and summer of the two most precious people on earth to me - my youngest sister and my father. I know their spirits are around me, too.

Please accept my most sincere condolences and a big hug and a fine cloth to wipe away your tears. Be firm in the knowledge that you and Henry WILL be together again, never to part.

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I too do believe that we will be together again. I'm just selfish and wish we had more time together now! I'm so sorry for the losses you had this year, but thankful for your wise words.
