Good Caturday afternoon greetings to you, Tracy, and to your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in reasonably good spirits.

Having been unemployed at various times in my life I do know what you are going through with your current job search, Tracy. And it is especially challenging now with the current national economic crisis. While some areas are beginning to make progress in opening up jobs other areas are still suffering. I am hoping and praying with all my heart that very soon you will find yourself celebrating a new job that will give you and your precious furkids financial stability. Although I know it is very frustrating for you please just keep doing your very best.

Today was the monthly bill-a-thon. I'm always glad when this is done. Now all I need to do is make the payments as needed. It's another cloudy day here with rain looming on the horizon. Not looking forward to the cooler temps in the 50's over the next several days.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious furkids. Please know you and your precious fur tribe are in my thoughts and prayers, my friend, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Thank you moon_beam

It is a challenge to say the least. But all I can do is keep trying. Today we have cloudy skies and temps hovering around 50 - This has not stopped the festivites for Thunder (the opening on the KY Derby fest) I stopped going years ago due to the crowds. But living across the highway from the airport, I'm hearing a lot of the planes for the air show. So far this has not scared Tang or Theresa. We will see when the fireworks go around 9. I'm glad you got all your bills taken care of. Hoping this finds you and Noah well. TTFN

Hi Tracy......Just stopping by to wish you and precious furbabies a happy Caturday.....I don't like this cold weather. I saw on WHAS news all those people out there waiting for the fireworks tonight. I hope we get to see the fireworks on TV like all the other years. The air show was on Louisville FOX station that was taken off our cable company.

We live close to an airport too, but we have smaller planes here. One year a big jet landed accidently, they thought it was Lexington. It was very hard taking off on the short runway. The noisiest thing we have are the Black Hawk helicopters at the National Guard.

Blackie is still doing well. I give him some raw hamburger every once in awhile. He probably thinks it's a mouse. I don't guess it will hurt him.

Tracy, you are in my thoughts and prayers to have a better week ahead. Give Little Theresa and Tang a special pat for me. Always thinking of Sir Tom too. I bet he and Mickey are having fun.....

Peace and Blessings to you,

LoveMyMickey

Thank you LoveMyMickey

I didn't really hear the fireworks this year. So Theresa and Tang were unaffected thankfully. I'm glad Blackie is OK. I'm sure a little hamburger is fine. Are you still putting out regular cat food? Hope you are well, and I'm sure Tom and Mickey are good friends in heaven smile.gif Peace and TTFN

Hi, Tracy, sending you, your precious Theresa, and little Tang our cloudy, soggy, damp, chilly, gloomy Sunday afternoon greetings from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits. By now you have your laundry done and hopefully are enjoying a peaceful Sunday with your precioius furkids.

I'm smiling as I read your and LoveMyMickey's account of living close to an airport - - small or large. They bring back a lot of good memories to me, if I may share them with you. I remember when I was a little girl we as a family would go to Gravely Point across from what is now Reagan International Airport in DC and watch the planes takeoff and land. As the planes would land we could actually see the people in the cabin and would wave to them. And when Dulles was being built we would drive out to Chantilly early on a Saturday morning as the mist was rising from the ground and literally drive on the runways as they were being constructed. Then when I graduated high school and got a full time job, my mom and I moved to Reston which is close to Dulles. We witnessed the inauguaration of the flights into Dulles with the SST, and on Friday evenings we would go over to the airport - - in days of yore long before the current security restrictions - - to have dinner at the hotel and then go over to the terminal and watch the planes land and take off. Those were challenging days financially-wise for us yet we found enjoyment in the simple pleasures. I still like to watch planes land and take off from the regional airport in Roanoke whenever I go into the city, but i don't go to the airport.

I hope life is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly today, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I hope you are able to arrange to get your UE check without any difficulty. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious fur tribe are in my thoughts and prayers, my friend, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Peace and blessings,

Hi Tracy.... Yes, I put out regular dry cat food for Blackie and sometimes a little canned cat food. The hamburger is just a special treat every once in awhile.....I made him a small ball out of yarn to play with. I laid it on his rug and he somehow laid down on it to take a nap. I looked out later and he was trying so hard to get the ball out from under him with his feet. All of a sudden he picked it up with his front paws, threw it a few inches away and then went to sleep. He's a character. smile.gif

Take care and have a blessed Sunday.

moon_beam - Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. It must be heart warming to have seen so much living history first hand that most folks take for granted these days. I remember my first visit to Phoenix Sky Harbor - seeing the planes up close; it was both daunting and thrilling. Much like the time I was on the Queen Mary tour as a kid and we got to look down on one of the main propellors. Indeed, simple memories like this stay with us all of our lives. Pats for Noah

LoveMyMickey - Chuckling at Blackie and the ball of yarn. Tang does this with the catnip mouse or socks. Like they are his teddy bears. I'm glad Blackie is doing well.

Today has been pretty OK so far. First I called in my UE check and was NOT told to go for a review - it just processed it normally. Then after noon I called the office to tell them about these morons downstairs that set up a portable wood deck for horse shoe tossing! (and much beer swilling) I expected push back like "mind your own business" but the lady was very accomodating. Even relating how the noise would drive her nuts even before I could complain about that point. I mean horse shoes on a wood deck?! I thought I was hearing gun fire at first. But the lady said they would take care of it. She agreed someone could get hurt. Additionally I have been feeling calmer, less stressed for the first time in a long while. I hope its a positive sign of things to come. Tang and Theresa are both doing OK; sleeping rignt now. I hope you and yours are all doing well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, broken record weather greetings (cold, cloudy, damp, dreary, almost winter-like temps) to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.

I'm sooooo glad you were able to get your UE check processed without any problems. I know this takes a burden off your mind. And I'm also glad that you received a positive response from the agent in the rental office. Having lived in apartments for several years after I graduated high school I can so understand the things you see and hear from other residents. I hope the rental agent will follow through to correct the situation.

It is always a pleasure reading about your memories, Tracy. I'm so glad you have these good memories to recall, my friend. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

Since last Friday I have been fussing with trying to access my mortgage online. Got all kinds of techno messages that my logiin and user ID were not registered, that the file I was trying to access was "corrupted", that I was locked out of logging in for too many attempts, etc. So this morning I called the mortgage company and told them my tale of woe and the CSR I was speaking with put me through the paces of being able to get back into my account online. He was very polite and supportive and helpful. He explained that none of the files in my account are "corrupted" - - that perhaps I needed to upgrade the Adobe reader, so I did that. So we'll see what happens. Just glad I was able to get things straightened out and get my mortgage paid for another month.

Noah is so disappointed with the weather. The woodland critters are tucked tightly into their nests and dens waiting for the sun to show itself again - - for spring to come back.

I am so glad to know that you are beginning to feel a bit more relaxed. I know what it is like to live in "panic mode" and it is indeed very stressful. I, too, hope and pray that this is a beginning of a "positive sign of things to come" for you.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening.

Thank you moon_beam

Sorry to hear about the nasty weather. Here it has beem mostly sunny, but cool. Which is nice since I don't have to run the AC, just open the windows. Poor Noah not being able to cavort with his woodland pals. Hope the sun returns soon. I'm glad you were able to correct your tech problems with your mortgage. I agree that updating your adobe (PDF files) will help.

I have been sifting through my emails from job board search engines, but have not found any appropriate matches for today. I'll keep checking though. From the way the lady in the leasing office sounded gung ho, I think she may have already confronted the "horse shoe" people as there was no activity last night. It sounded like the assistant manager, so she would have the authority the regular weekend person would not. I think the people below me may have been participants as earlier they were pounding on my floor (their ceiling) and since I was quietly listening to new age music and reading, it could not have been the noise. Sour grapes I guess. I think a number of new residents are victims of the housing/real estate crash and think they are still living in the suburbs (sigh)

There is not much more to report for today. My last record for UE is 2 months (4 checks) set in 2006. Five months in 2001, and I really hope I don't break either one unsure.gif I find each day running into the next in almost a blur. It's not good for the soul. If I was still getting the maximum UE, I could at least get out for a bite or to the used book store or something. But I'm barely ekeing out a weekly/monthly existance as it is. Theresa and Tang seem to be doing OK though. Hope you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, SUNNY Tuesday afternoon greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.

Glad to know that the horse shoe raucus has stopped. A lot of people do not "get it" that apartment living is far different from living in a separate individual residence. Even with the best constructed multiple family dwelling there is still the reality that the only "privacy" you have is within the four walls of your designated living space. Once you open the balcony door or windows the "privacy" factor is lost. I hope your "neighbors" do not try to invent another means of annoyance - - for you and / or the rest of the people living there.

I hope your job search today will be more productive, - - and I am so hoping and praying that you will get a call requesting your presence for an interview - - leading to a GOOD job offer with a salary that will provide you and your precious furkids financial stability.

It is soooo nice seing the sunshine today. It is quite breezy and still a bit on the chilly side - - but a HUGE improvement over the last several days. I finally turned on the two space heaters here in the basement living quarters yesterday evening. The furnace to the upstairs has been running frequently over the last couple of days, particularly yesterday.

Not much going on here so far today. Noah and I are just taking today to soak up the glorious sunshine. I am working on a grocery list for tomorrow, as I will need to do a few errands tomorrow. I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening.

Glad the sun has come your and Noah's way again. Perhaps he can now catch up on the goings on with the woodland creatures. It's been overcast today and a bit warmer, but still just in the 60s. Not much going on here either. Theresa and Tang are OK and going about their business. One funny thing did happen earlier. I was in the bathroom, Tang was already in the tub. Theresa came in did not heed my warning that the tub was already occupied. She righted herself mid jump and just barely managed to avoid landing on Tang. He was unimpressed, but the look on her face was priceless. I found a few more jobs to post on today. One was even the county clerk (the various county clerk's offices were our primary client at SMLLC) Doesn 't pay very well, but government jobs have perks. Not holding my breath, just thought I'd share. Otherwise, the day has been a bit blah. Feeling tired and a little listless. Perhaps the change in weather. Hope you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, another sunny greeting to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.

I am so chuckling about Theresa's "uh oh" or "yeow" moment yesterday with the bathtub incident. I always enjoy sharing their antics and predicaments with you. I hope Tang has curbed his "aerial" act mischief whenever he and Theresa get balcony time.

So glad you are still finding jobs to apply for. Hang in there, Tracy - - one of them will be the right jackpot for you. I am so hoping ad praying this will be SOONER for you.

Today I did the monthly grocery shopping and went to the post office - - and I stayed within my budget. This is always nice!!! (but not always the case). I will need to make a quick run to the bank next week whenever I get my last check from my ex-employer for the unused balance of my paid time off. Unfortuately that will not be direct deposited but rather come in a check form. And at some point in time in May I will need to take my chariot (car) in for routine service and State inspection.

Noah was a bit confused this morning when I left to do the errands, but was very, very happy when I got home 1.5 hours later. I truly do enjoy being home with my little boy.

I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening.

Chuckling at Noah's confusion. Mine are similar when my schedule changes. Glad the sun is still coming your way. I too went to the store after my UE check came in the mail and I deposited it. Kept the bill under $30 - I was fairly proud of myself. I have spent most of the day trying to get on Today's third party employment verification web site since they will NOT give me a number to fax the form from the credit card company for the consumer protection to make my payments (sigh) - still a work in progress.

No luck in the job hunt - pushing forward, but it's hard not to get discouraged. Theresa and Tang are OK. No funny hijinks today. Hope you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, cloudy, rainy, sometimes thunder stormy greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.

I do understand how discouraging it can be applying for jobs and not getting any responses - - or getting the "we have selected another candidate" response. It can make you wonder "why not ME???!!!!" If I had the power to intervene on your behalf I would, Tracy, - - the only thing I can do is continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers that the RIGHT job will soon come your way. Just keep doing what you're doing, Tracy.

So glad you got your UE check okay and got your shopping done as well. Nothing exceptional going on here today. Noah is settled on his lamb's wool cushion as I'm writing to you. Just thought I'd stop by to say hello. I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious fur family will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious fur tribe are in my thoughts and prayers, my friend, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Hope this finds you and Noah doing well. Not much going on here either. Warmer than it has been. It's been one of those day I could not find any jobs I feel qualified to post on. But I've entered a couple drawings to win 1500.00 Kroger card from the newspaper, and 2000.00 from a PetSmart survey. Yeah, like I'll win either of those, but it costs nothing to try. Theresa and Tang are doing OK. Tomorrow is another day. Peace and TTFN

Hi, Tracy, good afternoon greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.

I hope today is treating you and your precious furkids kindly, my friend. It is a beautiful sunny day here and - - I finally felt strong enough to tackle the mowing job in the front yard. The one section that I suspected would be the worst part was as the mower kept conking out from the thickness of the "green whatever", but overall I was able to complete the job in 1.5 hours without too much difficulty - - including a 10 minute rest when the mower ran out of gas. It felt so good to get my shower and wash my hair, and Noah was very glad to have me back inside. I am soooooo glad to have this done as from the upcoming forecast through the next several days we are once again supposed to have - - RAIN!! If I had waited the job would have been much harder to do. And as I was mowing in the thick part I noticed a wiggly squirmy something race off to underneath the front porch - - don't know if it was a baby snake or a lizard it raced so fast away from the mower. So this is another reason why I really needed to get this job done. The back yard still needs its first mowing, but that will happen perhaps at the next window of opportunity of dry weather.

I hope today is being equally positive for you, Tracy. I know it would be SUPER positive with a job offer, and I'm keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers that this will happen very, very, very soon for you. I hope you and your precious Theresa and little Tang will have a very peaceful and cozy evening.

Sounds like you got a lot done today. I personally hate yard work. But I'm sure you feel a sense of accomplishment. It's been sunny here today too, and cooler so I could turn off the AC and save money. Thanks for the encouragement on the job search; still no luck sad.gif

I had thought the "activity" downstairs was taken care of, but it was only a reprieve (sigh) It's not horse shoes, its a game called cornhole. Except that game is played tossing bean bags into holes on the board. These idiots are using metal discs - rather heavy ones from the way they were hefting them. I just got an email form the manager that said:

"It is okay and I welcome residents to utilize the available common/grassy areas of the community in a non-violent recreational way, for example: playing games such as you have witnessed."

What part of heavy metal discs careening into the parking lot did she not understand? And the noise level. I was tempted to put in a dig that I hope this does not turn into a pool incident, but figured she'd take that as a threat. The pool was closed for almost 3 years. It used to have a big glass enclosure that one night I saw teen agers scaling to jump in the pool from the skylight! The manager's "attitude" was similar to above. Next thing I know that enclosure is being torn down, and eventually a standard brick wall put up. The pool wasn't closed all that time for "reconstruction" I warned her that somebody would get hurt (or worse) and they'd get sued. Hmm, I guess they did. Well, I guess it will take more property damage, injury, or fatality to have this stopped. And it goes on for like 4 hours, scaring Theresa and Tang. And now I don't feel comfortable letting them out there. It must be nice for those residents to have more rights than me.

Sorry for the rant, but I needed to write that down, and I no longer frequent Livejournal. I hope you and Noah are well, and have a great weekend! TTFN

Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Hi Tracy....Rant all you want, I know how you feel. Our neighborhood is usually quiet, but about 3 years ago, we got new neighbors down the street. First thing you know, some big guys started throwing a ball to each other up and down the street and in yards. Somebody called the police and that ended that. They didn't live there very long thank goodness......When we lived in a neighborhood in Va. a grown kid would play golf on the street. One day the ball landed over our front fence, in a flower bed next to our front door. He didn't just come over and pick up the ball, he hit it out with the golf club. rolleyes.gif

Tracy, I hope you and furbabies have a happy Caturday and weekend. Blackie is still doing okay. He killed a bird this morning which I didn't like because we keep him well fed.

Take care my friend and give little Theresa and Tang a special pat for me. Thinking of Angel Sir Tom too....TTFN

Thank you LoveMyMickey

Last night they were in the center of the parking lot after 10:00. Almost like they were daring anyone to stop them. I sent an email to the manager telling her and warning legal action if I am one of the people hurt. So much for holding my toung in the previous email. I was just so angry at the gall. It will likely get me kicked out sad.gif She may be "sweet" on the exterior, but that woman is very vengful inside. And she "exagerates" (lies) 2 years ago when she was trying to kick me out she said she had moved employees to other locations and tenants to other apartments trying to appease me. Right. Like she would do that as if it made any good business sense. Out of work and likely homeless. If not now, when my lease is up in the fall (sigh) Anyway I hope that you have a good Caturday. Peace and TTFN

Hi, Tracy, good Caturday greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.

I am so sorry that the neighbor situation has unfavorably escalated. Like you and LoveMyMickey, I, too, have been subjected to harassment from neighbors when I lived in the city, and the police did nothing to help me, nor the attorney I hired. This was the primary reason why I packed up my furkids who were with me at that time and our belongings and moved to the country. I know this isn't an option possible for you and your precious furkids, Tracy. Please know you and your precious Theresa and little Tang are in my thoughts and prayers that this will quickly pass.

The sun is shining here for the moment. The radar is showing a big colorful blob of storm activity but it looks like it is more north of the homestead here, so we may have another day of sunshine - - two days in a row - - WOW!!!! Noah is doing well. Hopefully before the day is out we will have a chance to play some soccer together with his big puff ball. He really enjoys that, and so do I.

I hope today will be kind to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious fur tribe are in my thoughts and prayers, my friend, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam
