Hi Luba,
My God, my God - Tuesday you will have gone for 4 months. This past month has gone by very quickly. I think that I must have moved into a kind of "middle stage grief". The pain of losing you has lessened in it's severe acute grief pangs. I now find myself missing you in a more continuous, gentle way. I still cry for you a few times per week, but it's not as long. It's more like getting teary for a few minutes and then moving on. Falkor is doing well. I never realised how much he needs me until I got back from Quebec and saw how joyful he was when I got back. I think he thought that, like you, I had simply vanished. Poor guy. I'm staying put for a while now. I need your help from wherever you are, to see whether Kimba should stay with us or not. I trust that you will lead us all the right way. Alex misses you too. He came for a visit the other day and said that he really wished that you were still alive. He's really sorry that he never really got to know you. He's getting so big now. It's too bad that you had that bad experience with the "ex neighbour's" kids teasing you that left you so scared of all kids. Just know that Alex is thinking of you kindly. We all miss you so much. Love Steph, Alexandra, Alexander, Michael and your buddy Falkor. -------------------- "My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today."

Hi Steph:
Yes..........Four months......It really goes by soooooooo quickly!!! It's certainly okay to cry........for however long you need.... You and your "sweetie Luba".....She will always be your best girlfriend!! ![]() I am soooooooooo sure that she will "let you know somehow, someway about Kimba"..... I know that our precious Ernestine led me to Ms. Lucy (they looked soooo much alike....), and Lucy with her purring and all, just grabbed my Heartstrings.... ![]() The same thing will happen to you.... Of course your handsome Falkor needs you..... (And, he is a beauty!!) Kimba and Falkor....They look like they belong together...... NOT AS A REPLACEMENT, you know that........ As a companion, a friend.... ![]() We all need that! You spoke of the "ex neighbors kids".......... WHY CAN KIDS BE SO CRUEL???!! And, "cruel to Luba ![]() What was wrong with these kids????? It's Probably this world, I don't know.... But, I never had any of my own.......... (Except for my wonderful furkids along the way!! ![]() This past Saturday was 8 months that Ernestine went to the Bridge... ![]() She's in a better place.........and I hope she's eating everything that she couldn't while down here..... You know??? I had to give Lucy her shot of insulin this AM, and that's difficult!!!! I've been doing sooooo much reading on the subject... I wonder if the vet's know just "how much to give a 10 lb., kitty"????? Ben and I are going to home test her sugars to see how much insulin she needs.... You're in my thoughts and prayers Steph...........YOU TOO FALKOR AND KIMBA!! ![]() Love, Denise -------------------- Our Beloved Girl, Ernestine (AKA) "Ernie-Bird"

Thanks Denise,
That is scarey about the insulin. Do you measure it out in a syringe? I'll bet you do a great job of giving it to her though! The ex neighbours kids were a tragedy all to themselves. There was abuse and neglet going on in that family. I'm not surprised that they went after Luba. I really told them off about it, and they respected me, but the damage had been done. So sad. She never loosened up around kids, even the really nice ones terrified her. Sigh. -------------------- "My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today."

Hi Steph,
I think Kimba has already found her way into your heart and it very well could have been the beautiful Miss Luba who helped her find her way. If it was not her destiny to find a home with you and Falkor, you would have surely recognized this by now. You are very wise to have taken things very slow, but from the sound of some of your prior posts, I have a very strong feeling Kimba is going to become a wonderful addition to your family. Don't let me or anyone else make that decision for you, but what I'm trying to say is sometimes you've already made a decision--it just takes a while for you to realize it. Just follow your heart--it's wiser than the mind on matters such as this. __Jim -------------------- "Daddies Little Man"

Jim, I'm starting to think that you are right.
Kimba and Falkor were happily curled up together earlier this afternoon. I'm hating bringing Kimba back to her foster mom's at night. I can't wait til she starts her overnight visits here. Yep, the dog appears to be a great fit here... -------------------- "My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today."
