Heinz body anemia is a red blood cell abnormality that can develop in cats who eat onions. Symptoms include fever, lethargy, vomiting, depression, and loss of appetite and require a veterinarian's immediate attention. In larger doses, onions can cause kidney damage or worse. Keep onions in any form -- raw, cooked, powdered, or dried -- out of your cat's diet.

Thanks for the info, haven't ever heard that one! What about dogs? Twister really should have been named "Hoover", as he will eat just about ANY thing!

hi Andy, i know dogs should never eat chocolate. though our lab mix has done so more than several times without issues. it may be up to the dog's individual tolerances. i would suggest googling dogs + chocolate.

Thnx, knew about the chocolate as my Vet told us about it with my first chi, Renfield. Will Google about other things that may be harmful to dogs, though!
