Spring may not yet have officially sprung, but we had sunny skies and 70 degrees in the 'Ville today. I stepped outside on my lunch hour to take it in. My first thought was how much Theresa will love being able to go outside on the balcony when I get home from work. Sadly, my next was how much more Tom would have enjoyed it. He always looked so majestic this time of year as he regally laid upon the deck and sniffed the air and took in all the sights and sounds. Even Theresa does not seem to enjoy it quite as much as she used to. I am sad in knowing that he passed in the cold and gray December and will never enjoy another spring and summer with us. If I only had one more season......

Hi Tom's Dad,
The spring seems to be a difficult season for a lot of people on here. I've just been having that same discussion on AlexMarie's thread. I know how difficult this must be for you. But I truly believe that where Tom is now, spring is constant. He is basking in a wonderful ray of sunshine; feeling happy and content. I hope that you will come to believe this in your heart too. Take care of yourself. Cheryl x -------------------- It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone,
For parts of us went with you ... the day God called you home My beautiful Angel, Daisy - I will love and miss you forever xx |

TomsDad,
When I lost my Finn almos 4 weeks ago, I stumble upon this forum. I read so many posts that comforted and touched me. I just want to let you know that your's in particular really affected me. You experienced the same sort of feeling of theft of your boy, he being taken away from you too soon and by things beyond your control. I just wanted to let you know how much you helped me get through that first week. I didn't feel so alone anymore and I felt we were grieving together. Thanks for your story and take care. I have a feeling Finn and Tom would've have been good friends. ConnieJ |

I'm glad I was able to help in my own small way. It is a nice thought that the 2 of them are getting to know each other at the Rainbow Bridge (or the Elaysian Fields, as I like to think) -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Dear Tom's Dad,
I haven't written more because I am never quite sure what to say to you. We went outside in the yard today with Zack and our new puppy and I had been dreading this because Zoe also loved to run and play in the warm weather. It is a time for new beginnings. I can imagine Sir Thomas basking in the sunshine as you describe him. I hope that the warm weather will also help you to relax and enjoy the upcoming Spring and Summer. As always, I wish peace in your heart for you. I hope that you have come to realize that you were a good dad and Tom is thanking you. |

Oh My... That same song has been in my head too! I just lost my baby Tuesday. I had the same thoughts too about the warm weather and how Jasmine loved to sun herself out on the deck. It was a gray cold rainy day when I lost her. Be strong Tom is at peace. Give Theresa that extra love to help the both of you heal. I too have another four-legger that misses her sister. You are a good daddy! |
