What a beautiful girl......my heart is with you. It brings tears to my eyes to look at her face.
I lost my boy on June 9th. She will always be with you in your heart.
It hurts though no matter what it hurts real bad. I lost my grand daughter last May to s.i.d.s. she was only 44 days old and I'll tell you what this is equally as hard if not harder. He would have been with us going on 13 years this July. Just be patient, give yourself time to grieve it's a long process.

I am so so sorry for your loss Norm, I lost my Buddy 13 days ago & he looked so much like your girl, just black & white. I looked in to the eyes of Sam and the tears welled up again, she has such a similar expression to my Buddy. Thank you for posting the pic, I still cant bring myself to look @ pics yet let alone post a pic like you did.

I'm so sorry about Buddy, I bet he was perfect just like Sam. I know it is really difficult to look at their pictures when they're gone. But it made me feel better to show her photo here where everybody understands. Your thoughts and sentiments really do help.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your Sam is gorgeous.

I too have recently lost a beloved pet. I lost my kitty Callym to oral cancer - he only lived 2 months after diagnosis. I know how heartshattering this is. It has been a month since he died, and I still miss my perfect orange boy more than words can say.

I was thinking today Norm that my Buddy was perfect, he will be a hard act to follow when we eventually get another dog, so if my Buddy was perfect then that's exactly what Sam was just as you hve said, such beautiful understanding eyes......we are so blessed to have had these wonderful companions in our lives....

Oh Norm, what a beautiful girl. I am so sorry for the great loss of your friend. I lost my Sammie (a black and white sheltie girl) 18 days ago and I didn't even know I could feel so many different emotions in such a short period of time. My girl was only 3 1/2 years old. The first week was a fog. Although my husband thought he was going to have to medicate me to stop me from hyperventilating. My baby died while I was on vacation and it was a total shock. For me that made the loss worse. Some days I think it is just a nightmare and I'll wake up. Some days I hurt so bad in my chest I can't breath. Some days I'm ok and keep busy enough I don't think about it and then I feel guilty b/c I didn't cry all day. Some days I'm mad but don't even know who or what I'm mad at. Some days I have trouble just getting out of bed and staying focused. What I have learned from the many wonderful folks on here is that I'm not crazy at all I'm just in mourning. I'm mourning the best friend and soul mate to my heart. It isn't easy and it will hurt for a long time.. Norm, concentrate really hard on the happy and funny times. And let yourself feel all these things because we need to go through the process before we can heal. I will pray for you.

I'm so sorry you lost Sammie. Thanks for sharing that because I'm going through all those emotions as well. It's quite beyond comprehension isn't it?

My girlfriend and I are going away to a cabin by the beach now for several days. We were going to take Sam with us as we always did, so in some ways it's horrible but at least it will get my out of this house where Sam was always with me. Every time I turn around I see something that reminds me of her and I break down.

Thanks to everyone here, you've been a big help and I wish you all the best. I needed to find this place because most people think a pet is just a pet, and not a part of who we are.

the beautiful picture of sam just brought tears to my eyes. those eyes. what a sweet gentle creature. i am so very sorry for your loss. i know (in fact we all know) what a difficult time you are going thru. how extremely lucky you were to have her, and her you. please know that she is now in a wonderful place, looking down on you. she is with all of our loved ones. please continue to write. we are here for you.
