Hi everyone, Interesting news story today. A young man of 15yrs is trying to pass a law to make it illegal to cut a dogs vocal cords. This is AWSOME!..I hope he succeeds. I guess Logan was dog who got his cords removed in Texas I believe, The procedure is not pleasant the the out come is worst. I'm in Mass. Don't know if this is illegal in any other state. It certainly should be. ..Ann

UGH! I just noticed your thread and YES!, this definitely should be banned....EVERYWHERE it's allowed! I can't even imagine contemplating doing something so hideous to an animal.
I even hate those bloody shock collars. If you can't train your dog with love, YOU ought to be banned - to outer space, without a spacesuit! There was some guy recently who got charged for using them on his human kids....after sitting them in the bathtub first. Good God....but what do people think happens to the dogs if they get wet in the rain? So good for this young man! -------------------- "I dropped a tear in the ocean. I hate those zap collars too. My friend's daughter has one for her beagle. I told her do not put that collar on if I'm around. She's young and her nieghbors have called the cops on her several times and she's afraid of losing her apartment, but really, there's got to be a better way.
If I hear any updates on Logan's Law, I'll pass it along..Ann |

Not that I'm any dog training expert, but this sounded promising: Dog Obedience Training. Point being, though, it took all of one, lousy minute to find a possible solution for humane training methods for dogs. I'm told over and over again by my shelter friend that mostly what it takes is education of the guardian, kind training methods and commitment....the latter being the one most often missing in people. So yes, I'm SURE there are always better ways.
