Jasper Has A Lump! Trying Not To Panic Options

Judy, I was thinking the same thing, so I called the vet after I posted Jaspers rampage. The vet laughed and said not to worry, let him wear himself out. No danger, though I did step in when Jasper decided he wanted to pounce on Mama Wassi. I finally got him to lay down with me and he fell asleep like a sack of potatos. He makes the cutest noises.

He has a great way of stealing my pillow. He lays on my head and forces me to remove my head from the pillow.

The incision looks great. No redness or swelling. Dr. Cody wants Jasper to clean it himself. So far Jasper only licks around the edges of it.

Jasper was named by his Foster Mom. Since he was 3 months old, I decided to keep it. There's plenty of time for new nick names which I'm sure he will have! When Frankee is tearing the place up I call him "Frankenkitty". I had a dog about 20 years ago named Jasper so it's an easy name with loveable memories . Jon, I just love the name Ignatius! That name demands an attitude! "Sir Ignatius to you!" I heard the band "Pink Floyd" got their name by putting slips of paper in one hat with colors written on them and then slips of papers in another hat with names written on them. Always wanted to try something like that with a furbaby!

Kim, I just love your avatar of Mink and Willow. What special furbabies! Their coats compliment each other so well and what LOVE. What wonderful memories.

Eva, Thanks so much for your continued support. To everyone that is riding this out with us. It means so much. I'd be a basket case without all of you!

I'll keep everybody informed about the outcome of the "tumor test". I just wish everyone else on this thread could have such good news. My heart breaks for all of you that are going through pet sickness. I am so sorry for your pain and cry reading your stories. I will keep you all in my Prayers.

That felt soooooooooooooo good to hear that the vet "laughed and said not to worry". That's what I mean about a simple phone call can relieve so much anxiety in our minds...which can get bigger..which we don't need but I love it when you said "laughed". Means that Jasper racing around is the best of all..........because he feels good, is happy, and is very glad to be home.
That's the greatest news of all.

Still waiting for the results of the biopsy. Hubby is stopping by the vet on his way home from work. The vet was super kind to let us make payments for the surgery. He really worked with us. Hopefully there will be good news!

Jasper is all over the house. He discovered the cubby hole under the stairs behind the couch the other day. It's usually Mama Wassi's hiding spot since she is a grumpy old lady with the other kitties and hides there. Jasper is just the sweetest little guy. He loves waking me up by putting his front paws on my face and kneading. Ouch. He is such a love but then will turn around and be completely independent. Yesterday he was playing with Frankee in the kitchen. We had left a brown paper sack with handles on the floor since they were having such a good time with it. The next thing I hear is very loud paper bag noises coming my way. He had gotten stuck in one of the paper handles but it broke lose before he got to me. He got all bushy tailed. It was so funny. Frankee just sat there watching the show.

I'll post when I have the results. Thanks everyone for being concerned. I can't imagine going through this without all of you.

I'm happy to hear Jasper has returned to his rambunctious self again. It's amazing to me just how quickly animals bounce back to normal after a surgery.

My thoughts remain positive that the lump is not of a cancerous nature. My heart tells me you and Jasper have many years of happiness left to enjoy together along with the rest of your lovely family.

GOOD NEWS!! THE TEST RESULTS ARE BACK AND IT IS BENIGN

Dr. Cody just called with the good news. He feels the lump was caused by a sloppy injection.

Jasper and Frankee have been tearing the house up! It sounds like a herd of horses when they are upstairs in their room.

Thanks to all of you that have been keeping Jasper in your thoughts and Prayers. I know they made all of the difference in our little boy!

Wonderful news! It sounded like that would be the answer and it was.

It is a shame a baby has to go through surgery, etc., due to a "sloppy injection".
But if there had to be a lump...that would be the preferred result, that's for sure.

Jasper the tornado can now race around to his heart's delight. I love that he

I'm glad you got him and that now you can stop worrying and just enjoy both your babies.

It's a joy to hear some good news - never feel guilty because you have good news about your furkid's health. It brought tears of joy to my eyes and I think we all share that happiness for someone else's good fortune.

Dearest Kim, Beth, Eva, Judy, Ken, Jon, and Jorge,

In the midst of all the other turmoil going on in our life, this is the BEST news!! I've got to tell you, after losing Nickels and my 3 other Best Friends (including my childhood best friend since I was 3 because Cancer Treatment Center wouldn't recognize her insurance company!) these past two years, when I first felt the lump on Jasper, I thought, "That's it, here we go again, I'll just resign myself to losing this guy too". Then cried myself to sleep.

Jasper was a gift. I must have looked at over 1000 kittens on PetFinder.com. He wasn't as much a gift for me, but, more for Frankee. I felt soooo guilty scolding Frankee for being a kitten when he jumped on one of the elderly ladies in the past year. My Husband and I have actually come up with the phrase, "Stop being a kitten!" But we don't say it mean, we just laugh and it reminds us of what we are complaining about. Anyway, it doesn't effect Frankee OR Jasper. They pay us "no never mind". What we all complain about in the beginning is what we all miss in the end. We absolutely cherish the kitten phase. Let them break nick nacks, and claw the curtains. The nick nacks and curtains never jumped up in my lap or snuggled up with me at night.

Buck was actually an hour late leaving the house this morning since Jasper and Frankee were having an incredibly entertaining play session. After all of our losses we've learned, you have to take time for the important things. If I can ever find the battery and charger to this camera, I'll post the pictures!

Just like you all love my kitty's, I love your babies too. I wish I could hug you all. I'm sorry I havn't been there like I should and feel a bit selfish for not posting for so long.

Nickels has the BEST of friends at the Rainbow Bridge to keep him entertained until I arrive. Beth, though I know Goliath is the smallest puppy Nickels ever laid eyes on, I know he is keeping him especially close. That's just the way Nickels was, protective and loving. Judy, Little Guy and Nickels are taking turns nipping at each others toes playfully and are best buddies. Kim, Mink and Willow are giving my Nickels Double Trouble but then I can see them all laying next to each other and licking each others heads. Eva, your Felice is in my Nickels heart. He's not letting her out of his sight she is so beautiful! And Mikki, your Elliott! I love the name Elliott. I can't wait to see his pictures when you are ready to post them. Elliot is my favorite character on Law and Order. But Elliott the cat, well just refer to Nickels story when he brought two buddies home. They are the best of friends! If someone has photoshop and knows how to use it, I would love to see a picture of all our Rainbow Bridge Kitties together! No, Jon, I havn't forgotten your Cat Wife Miles! Nickels and Miles will be telling everybody when it is time to turn in!! Ken, I watched your tribute to Daddy Cat after I lost Nickels. It moved me so deeply, the tears poured down my cheeks. I will never forget that tribute. AND Especially, Jorge. No one should EVER have to endure what you have gone through. My heart goes out to you above all others. Your words of kindness and hope mean more than I can say. We are ALL Blessed to have you here on LS.

Thanks to all of you! I know Jasper and Frankee has the best friends this side of the Rainbow Bridge, and the best Guardian Angels on the other side. Bless all of you and your kids! I'm in absolute tears thinking about all of them!
