I am posting this link here, in order to benefit those animals who are currently aged or ill and who might regain better health and live much longer by a healthy change in diet.
In order to explain this concept of care for ill &/or elderly animals, I will simply quote the founder of BrightHaven, Gail Pope, as she tells it herself: "In the beginning I worked for a wonderful veterinarian, Dr. Doug Coward of Mission Viejo, who helped me enormously by employing the wonders of modern medicine to help me treat my animals. I was feeding them a veterinarian recommended food and felt that I was doing the very best possible for all my animals. As you probably know, our policy here at BrightHaven is to accept animals over the age of 16 years and occasionally some who are younger and seriously ill or tremendously handicapped. Over time, my confusion mounted when our animals continued to die, although given the very best conventional care. After the loss of a precious Siamese that had stolen my heart, I agreed to listen and to try the natural way, both in diet and medicine, and WOW did things change at our house!!! We started to see shining fur and gleaming eyes and so much more energy - and this from cats in their 20's!!!" The Popes have cared for over 500 animals at their sanctuary for over 18 years, so they are well worth listening to. They are offering their complete diet plan, a "comprehensive guide (that) will provide you with the tools you need to get your animals on the road to better health and well being", for $30.00. Please see this section of BrightHaven's website: The Natural Diet for Cats & Dogs, and while you're there, check out the rest of their site, too - a real learning experience, including the holistic vets who volunteer their time and expertise to them, and who are also available to the public, if you're looking for a great vet. -------------------- "I dropped a tear in the ocean.
