I finally got around to getting a roll of film developed that has been sitting in my apartment for probably over ten years. I didn't think it would be good since it has withstood some temp changes and sat in my car for the last two weeks.
Anyway, I took it to a CVS pharmacy to have it developed wednesday and picked it up today, friday, and there are many pictures of Sadie on there that I forgot all about. The quality is not real good but I can see my baby and it made me cry a little. It also made me laugh because she was at her prime then at 4 or 5 years old...and still full of a substantial amount of piss and vinegar. In one of the pictures I took her to see my friend who lives right below me, and she apparantly got into my friends unmade bed and made herself right at home. She is half in and out of the rumpled covers. I remember my friend saying she looked like Elizabeth Taylor. ![]() She was so funny sometimes. -------------------- Sadie (named after the Beatles song "s e x y Sadie") came into my life when I rescued her from a cage in the SPCA in 1991. Then she was taken from me when she ate the tainted IAMs food in 2007. You will always be in my heart and thoughts, Sadie. There will never be another like you!
Rev 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, [be] unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. |

I love finding old film for that very reason - forgotten happy moments made new again.

John B, The picture that you described sounds like a wonderful Kodak moment. How great you found such a delightful memory.

Thanks, guys! It was a nice surprize. I can't believe how young she looked. I remember that time too. She was so quick and agile. It used to frustrate me to no end when I wanted to pick her up and she would slip right out of my hands.

I remember something like that happening with some old film that we'd stored inadvertently when we went overseas for 2 years. We found it and had it developed shortly after our 17-year-old Heidi cat died of kidney failure a few years after we got back to the States. The quality wasn't great, it was sort of faded and blurry, but it was kind of eerie - Heidi looked sort of ethereal in it, sort of half-there. Considering the time and situation, it was so - well, sort of right, to have that remembrance. It's remained one of my favorite pictures of Heidi - in her prime but sort of going off to another world where we'll meet again one day where she'll be the same Heidi I remember. Thanks for reminding me of that.
