I didn't get to tell Boo Goodbye, so making a video helped my healing process.
It is OH, so SLOW, but I think getting this all out has helped.

It was just a way of me telling her goodbye...

That is a beautiful way to honour Boo and say goodbye. I'm sure Boo will be saying 'Hey, look what my wonderful Mum has done for me' and will be watching it over and over again!

Thank You smile.gif Making that video and watching it was really healing for me.
I could put in words what was in my heart. To let it out...Well, I cried a lot just taking home movie clips of her, it was hard, but well worth the effort.
It was just my way of expressing my goodbye.

Thank you all, I am hoping to give something to others with the video, that is why I made it public, so I could share.

I just remember feeling so alone when she died, that no one else ever felt as bad as I did, a real deep down bone ache. I'm not saying I'm glad others feel that, but I did learn that others are coping with loss, and I'm not alone.

I just miss her and love her so much. I'm hoping others find comfort in the words I put on the video. If it helps others as it helped me heal, it will make me feel even better I posted it.
It was my goodbye to her, although very personal something I felt compelled to share.

I tried to watch it through, but I couldn't. It is very very well made. It's different when your hearts' in it.
Just too soon and too close to my recent loss this week of Ellie-Mae. She also died suddenly. It-just-isn't-fair.

kind regards

Doggy Daddy.

Doggy Daddy, I'm so sorry about your loss.
I don't even remember the first week after our Boo died. When she got suddenly sick, when she died, and after her death all seem such a blur.

I now watch the video and cry when I need, but looking back I know I told her and she knew she was loved. I miss her, and she is forever in my heart, which, six months later, is healing.
The process is SO SLOW, and tears still come occasionally, but now I can look back and not always be sad. Sometimes a thought will come to mind of how goofy she was, and I'll let loose a giggle, and sometimes even a chuckle.
I have peace now, it took a long time to come. (I think six months is long, but perhaps to others not so long...)

I actually didn't cry as much when she died, it kind if hit me a few months later, that is when I made the video. The video making process was VERY healing for me, I got out old videos and pictures of her (I didn't have many, she died just after she turned THREE)
But going through, seeing her, and putting what I had in my heart on some media, something I could see and hear (and I do admit, I am a screen toucher) I couldn't touch her, but I'd imagine that I could reach in the video)
Going through it REALLY helped. I'd encourage others if they can see through their tears, to go put their pet in some artwork, media, or something creative. Something takes over and being able to express what I felt in some form helped me to heal. I hope others can find ways to express themselves, just to "let it out."

Our hearts are healing, we are talking new puppy around our house now. We were going to go with another poodle, but decided that wasn't good, as we might subconciously try to make our new poodle into our Boo, not on purpose, but we might expect the new addition to be like our Boo, and everyone knows each dog (kind of no matter what breed) has their own unique personality.
SO, we went with a Bloodhound. Totally opposite from our refined little Boo.

We aren't replacing her, and we don't just want a "new" dog. We just feel it is so unfair to not share our love with another dog, our love is going to waste.
We have a lot to give, and now that we are healing we feel the time is right to make room once again for a new beloved family member.

Keep us posted on your healing process. There are lots of good folks on this board who really REALLY are ready to lend an ear. There is nothing we can do for you for your loss, but offer you support. There are a lot of cyber shoulders here!!
