Many of you know that I lost my boy Mo in January from multiple health issues - mast cell cancer, cushing's disease caused by an adrenal tumor, then heart problems. the cushings couldn't be treated without worsening the mast cell cancer, and vice versa. the adrenal tumor had spread to a vein and was too large to remove. it has been the most painful experience of my entire life. yesterday I rushed his sister, maisie, (not biological) to the vet because she did not look well. She had a mast cell tumor of her own removed a couple of months before he died. yesterday they told me that they think she has cushing's, which is usually caused by an adrenal or pituitary tumor. no confirmed diagnosis until the bloodwork comes back. I can't believe this. she has been through so much after the loss of Mo, and I wonder how much of this is stress related. I honestly can't believe it. I had just barely begun to regain my footing and accept his death, and i'm now so worried about her I can't think about anything else. she is the sweetest, easiest, most well behaved girl and I love her so, so much. I'm not even worried about myself getting through this, because I can't even fathom it..I'm worried about her because I'm no longer in a position to stay home with her as I did with him. (My job requires travel). She deserves as much care, and I feel terribly guilty. I would so appreciate any warm thoughts and love you could send her way..

thank you..

Moe and Maisies' mom my prayers and thoughts for you and Maisie will be for you,
all day today. I want you to have good news, I want Maisie to be well, it just has to be.
I will be praying and meditating asking that the bloodwork be good, I hope this is just a little scare, the kind that makes you appreciate things once the calm returns.

And YOU have been through so much TOO! Dear heart that you are, you don't think of yourself but we here do. So I pray, for you, for your Maisie lets ask
Moe, and my cats to help you,it would do me wonders if you were to come back and tell us all is well, it would be the only thing that would make me feel better. Take care, you and Maisie.

I'm praying hard here, Jen. You've been through too much. Let us know what's going on, ok?

Thank you all very much. My vet just called...there is something wrong with Maisie's liver. One of the enzyme counts is elevated and her thyroid is low. I have to bring her in asap for an ultrasound. It was last September that I brought Mo to the same clinic for his ultrasound where they found the adrenal tumor. I can't believe this is happening.

thanks again to all of you. i ended up bringing her back to the vet today as her breathing was rapid and shallow. was told that they thought they saw a large mass on her liver. looked like that on the x ray. prepared myself to answer some tough questions - the decision to operate and consider chemo... took her right to a specialist for an ultrasound. better news than i thought - it is cushing's disease and liver disease, which aren't great, but they're better than a huge tumor on her liver or anywhere else for that matter. the poor thing was so scared during the ultrasound - she just shook and trembled. i spent the hour before it praying to mo and god and all of your babies whose names i could remember to help her so that i could have a chance to show her how much i love her. i just kept asking that it be something treatable, which it is. thank you all, your babies, mo, and anyone else who answered my prayers. we're both wiped out.

Mo & Maisie's Mom

It treatable! That is such good news. Love the stuffing out of her for as long as you have her. Which, come to think of it, is good advise for any of us. I'll keep her and you in my thoughs.

Give her a kiss from me.

Thanks Mo, for your help.

Love

Wow - you are all amazing. This is the first place I turned for support, and I believe that you and your babies and Mo helped make this a better prognosis. I'll take Cushing's and liver disease over cancer any day.

I am so touched by how everyone, in the depths of their own despair, can still reach out to offer support, prayers and comforting thoughts to help me get through these awful days. It really restores my faith in people.

Thank you so much from Maisie & me..my thoughts are with all of you.
