I just want to say that knowing this place and all you wonderful people are here means so much to me...Everyone was so kind when i lost my P-kitty (aka Puff)...

i dont know where to start... I woke up this morning around 9 and went down to see whom i needed to find (my mom feeds my herd of 6 kitties in the morning so i can sleep in a bit) She told me Sara hadnt been home for breakfast, so i set out to find her. She had been let out around 4 am but hadnt been seen since. (This was exactly how the morning started when i lost my Puff)

I've been calling her for almost 5 hours now and there is no sign of her anywhere. I'm so worried....In addition to her missing, one of my other cats (Cotton Ball) has 4 fresh wounds from sort of fight. Now, i would usually think that he got too rough with one of his brothers and they let him have it, but two days ago i spotted a skinny tomcat walking thru my backyard. So many horrible things are running thru my mind right now. So scared of losing another one

Not to mention the fact that it is OPPRESSIVLY hot out right now (i live in Ga...90's with 90% humidity) So looking is rough...

oh man...Sara where are you!?

Hi Nyte:

Let's pray that your Sara will come home, safe & sound.....

I know how hard it was when you lost your P-Kitty.... sad.gif

I've been thinking of you lately, actually even earlier today, to be honest...
Wondering how you are doing....

Now, I know how you are doing....

I'll light one of my candles, for Sara's safe return. rolleyes.gif

Keep us posted, my friend....
Okay????

Love, Denise

SHE'S HOME!

whew

thanks so much muffins, you have no idea how much it means to know that you and your kindness are here...I hold a special place in my heart for you and everyone here at Lightning Strike. I've posted to many a message board and they dont measure up to the high quality of this place and the people that post here. Thank you!

(ps...i happened to be traipsing around in the woods looking for her when she came home...i walked in the front door to see her laying in the dining room cooling off on our hardwood floor. My mom said she brought up a dead chipmunk but took it back into the woods before coming in...LOL so THATS what she was doing)

Hi Nyte:

Yeah!!! wub.gif I'm sooooooooo happy for you & your family....

I bet you feel like your getting an ulcer, seeing that your kids can be outdoors,
because of all the land you guys have!

If all our your precious kids knew HOW MUCH YOU ALL WORRIED ABOUT THEM, maybe they'd all be home at breakfast time....lunch time & dinner....
so that you & your family don't worry yourselves sick!!!

I happened to be on the computer when your "happy letter" came in, so I was really excited
to know that she's back!!!! wub.gif

I say it all the time as well, there is not another pet grief site that WILL EVER MEASURE UP TO LIGHTNING STRIKE...
There just isn't.... I can see that you feel the same way!!! biggrin.gif

Keep in touch my friend....I think you have my e-mail address....

Hopefully you're taking your nap...

Love, Denise

thank you so much Karen and BabyHannah'sMom! Frantic is exactly the word i'd use smile.gif I know its a risk everyday to let them go outside, but i dont think its really possible to keep all 6 in... They were born outside and lived out there for a while before i found them. And they absolutely adore being outside...playing in the bushes, chasing each other around the yard.

Am i a horrible person for letting my beloved kitties enjoy the outdoors?

No Nyte you are not a horrible person. But let me share a little story with you - my kitty Max used to belong to someone else and he was an indoor-outdoor kitty. He started coming over to my house and would just stay - all day and night. I'd call her, she'd come get him but after a while she got tired of coming to get him. I lived on a pretty busy street in our neighborhood and would see him dash across the street numerous times, just missing getting hit. It's a frightening thing to see. One Memorial Day weekend he showed up at my house and some kind of animal had bit him in the face at the bottom of his ear to his cheek bone. It was horrible. I rushed him to the emergency vet, he had to have a drain inserted, antibiotics three times a day and from that day on I considered him MINE! And strictly indoor. I had my husband build a screen porch just for him and he really did adjust well with it. I had a kitty panel that you put on the sliding glass door and it had a door in the bottom of it so he could go in and out when he wanted. It was difficult at times and he would go to the door and howl, but patience and time prevailed and he's fine now. I kow it would be a challenging situation with six kitties. I was just fortunate that our house could accomodate a screen porch. I no longer live in that house and unfortuntely Max doesn't have a porch any more......but at his age he's okay with it - thank God!!
