Our 9-year-old Samantha was suddenly called home last Tuesday. Diagnosed with liver and kidney failure, her family gathered at her side one last time as she went peacefully on her journey.

Sammy was always my late night pal to my nightowl work routine. Without fail she would brush up against my leg and wait for the invitation to leap on my lap and climb up to my shoulder where she'd happily sit for as long as I'd keep her there. Sammy never realized she was no longer a kitten...and never lost her enthusiasm to perch on a welcome shoulder.

"Sammy give loves," I'd softly say and without fail she'd rub her face against my ear several times.

Of our four cats, Sammy was our only outdoor lover. Her and I would sit together in the backyard and she enjoyed nothing more than to sit quietly in the green grass at the end of her leash and watch the world around her. Cars, people and other animals would go by and she would just nonchalantly watch them with no care or concern...just curiosity and fascination.

She was the guardian of the household and family...always the first one awake to check out an unfamiliar sound in the night.

Sadly missed by the entire family...she remains in our hearts and memories. We're so thankful she chose to spend her years with us - and she was loved beyond words.

Sammy was such a pretty cat. I'm awfully sorry to hear about your loss. I just had my 17-year old dog, Hannah, put to sleep on Monday, and I am missing her so and feeling lost. I understand your pain, and I am very sorry. God bless you. Take care of yourselves.

What a beautiful, beautiful girl......I am soo very sorry for your loss!!!!

I know the awful pain right now....we had to put our Ernestine to sleep on 2/7/2004......
And, I can go right back and remember all the pain.

But, I truthfully believe that your beloved Samantha is up over Rainbow's Bridge, and
there she is in peace. There is no pain and no suffering...
She's running around with all the other furbabies who have gone on before her.

And, the one thing that can never be taken from you and your family is: ALL OF THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES YOU
HAVE OF YOUR SAMANTHA!!!! wub.gif

I try & find some peace in that, with regard to Ernie-Bird!!!

God Bless you....
We're always here if you need to talk...

Love, Denise
