Lately, people have been posting more about euthanizing their pets and the pain of being present at this last event. I understand just how they feel. Holding my Daisy as she left this world was the hardest thing I have ever done. Yet, could I do less for her?
I keep saying this, but it does help me to share this thought- Daisy, like everyone’s beloved pet, would have lived and died whether or not we had shared our lives with them. The only difference is that they might not have known the great love and caring that they had with us. And unfortunately, the price we must pay for the privilege of loving them is the unbearable pain at the end. Is it worth it? When I remember Daisy - I know she is worth any price. All our pets are worth the pain. The love is stronger and will outlast the pain. Daisy's Mommy, Anne |

It is so worth it. I will have to go through it again, at least three more times, because of the promise I have made to the three cats I share my life with now. I promised them a good life and, as much as I can, a good death.
Your words are so true. |

Well stated.
I'm not sure that it makes the memories of the euthanization day any less painful, though. As much as I know how necessary it was to do I still have a hard time when I recall the final days. Definitely they are memories that I would rather forget. Maybe in a while these memories will not be so hard to deal with. -------------------- Sidney, Bergie you know that you are the light of my life. We will miss and love you forever.
